Hm... my main problem with those lines is still there, although the rest is better.

Maybe change it to...

That feels a bit more coherent and gets around the "I need to explain your choices in detail for you"-thing while not withholding any of the information you want to give her. Morgan is smart enough to get the implications.

I'm not sure why people want to bring Morgan along.

Because I think she's been at least mostly genuine with Cerys and I care about her?

I think she should at least be given the option to come with us. Just ditching her seems unfair.

That I may be true but I have the feeling that if we bring Morgan along everything she sees us do will at least get reported to Karen at some point in the future.

I don't actually totally have a problem with that? We've already had some assurance from the Betas that Karen would be hard pressed to interfere with us or our friends where Gaia is putting us.

Plus I think having the ability to get in touch with Karen could be valuable in the future. You never know when we might want to give a warning or try to open some negotiations.

Much as I dislike her, we'll still have to deal with her if we're getting involved in the war after all.

From how I read your last few posts, there are two statements you make:

A) Morgan has been mostly honest with Cerys and would be a trustworthy ally, which is why you want to offer her the chance to tag along
B) You expect Morgan to come along because she wants to act as a mole

...these two are mutually exclusive, though. Did I misunderstand something?

I think Morgan has been largely honest and think that she actually cares for Cerys and Una and the others.

I don't expect her to come along to act as a mole so much as I don't mind if she acts as a mole. I don't know if she will or won't, I'm just *mostly* okay with it.

Does that make sense? Is it just me?

Karen definitely qualifies as the Leader of a Nation at that point. While Cerys is no Leader of a Nation she currently is one of the most singular powerful persons on the planet. Also the promise is singularly important to Cerys and was what kept her working for Karen.
The magical nature of the Vow further increases the importance.

I'd say we got at least a Class 4 Demon here, potentially a 5. Well done Karen.

The problem I see with just walking out is that Karen isn't dumb. Cerys walking out with Una and all other magical girls directly after a fight with her like that is pretty obviously some kind of escape attempt.

The reason why I want her to come is she is our best friend and in a way objective enough compare to our emotional ties to Una and Daiyu plus Cuifen as sisters and Sabina is like an adopted sister/Kohai.
Its unfair just to drop her like a potato considering how much Morgan influence Cerys it is because she cares about them as sisters and don't give me that crap about her as some manipulative agent, pretty much everyone is with varying levels of intent, hell even Cerys and Una done it.
In the end relations with Karen does not mean they come from the same feather and honesty we need to talk to Karen again in the future.
Plus she can still help us since she's world-wise and know a lot due to her travels.

The only reason I'm interested in having Morgan along is as an information source. I, for one, do not trust her not to betray us to Karen.

So some quick notes: Morgan is a friend. She's been honest, supportive, and generally gone out of her way to not give Cerys the run-around. The fact that she views Karen as her mother-figure is a secondary concern.
See, Karen isn't our enemy, not really. She's a manipulative and dishonest bitch, yes, but not actually our enemy. She, broadly speaking, wants the same thing Gaia wants: For humanity to be ready to fight against what's Outside. Further, where we're going is under Gaia's protection, and Karen knows better than to fuck around with that.
So if Morgan does come, and she does decide that tattling on Mother Earth to Karen is the smart move, then there's not alot that will happen in response. Imagine:
"Mom! Cerys is hanging out on an actual Island Turtle with Gaia! I can tell you exactly where it is!"
How does Karen respond to that? 'oh boy, let's pick a fight with the literal goddess of the planet over a magical girl just because she won't do exactly what I want any more'? Somehow, I think she's a bit more savvy than that.

In the end Karen would back off if we're with Gaia. Both Morgan and Karen knows Gaia, so any interests in her affairs would be painful.

Aside from the fact Morgan is a clever little manipulator and used that talent on Cerys before... this particular part has me a bit amused.
The only thing I might be allowed to say is that in the end, Karen is still human. Gaia stated that Karen wants to make Cerys hers; that is not a working relationship and feels more like possessiveness to me.

What do you think she will do when someone she wants to possess turns out to be somewhere in particular? I have no trust in Karen being reasonable... but that might just be me.
