Typos:

"I'm afraid that with all of the data purges carried out by the Lord High Equaliser mean that there's little I can tell you about his arrival.
Should be removed.

And since you're about to ask, I am aware of the flaws which Thanagarian society has developed since them.
"then"

In return, the Lord High Equaliser's immediate subordinates agreed to recogniser her as Empress."
"recognise"

They say that she extorted an oath of fidelity under duress from people who didn't have the power to give in on behalf of the rest of our civilisation.
"it"

I don't know what the Queen who do next if she actually managed to conquer Antares, but that's a four way fight between evenly matched factions.
"will" or "would"

This gives a really nice visualization of the plague in my opinion.

For those who don't watch MLP clip is from episode where a whole town was basically turned into a super creepy equalisation cult where it was assumed the best society was on where no one was special so no one would feel better or worse than others. Of course not totally the same between two settings but I can imagine being in a whole society where there is no individualism would be super personality breaking in general and like mentioned basically turn people into meat robots.

Individualism is needed to advance society on all levels and despite conflicts it can bring it outweighs the negatives most of the time. Of course the same individualism made the newly freed society dispose the person that saved them so like said it's a mixed bag most of the time.

That probably depends on the species in question. For those like us, or like the people who deposed the queen who saved them, it obviously matters a very great deal.

But that's one of the problems when it comes to how we imagine alien life. We push our own biases and ideals on them. One species may value individuality like we do, while another may not. Or the very concept of individuality isn't something that is ever factored into their society, whichever way you want to imagine on the "individualism or no individualism" scale. It could be something another species finds completely alien about us.

Though a bit of a moot point in the DC universe, where what seems to be the vast majority of alien species are similar to humans. Sometimes in appearance, sometimes not. But they usually don't have totally alien mindsets.

Very true since aliens could have thought processes that don't even understand concept of individually.

Also this. Guess it kinda explains Paul's excitement when he comes across a truly alien atmosphere like when he first visited the plant planet.

For an in-story example, the Genomorphs. Individuality is not only undesirable for them, it would be outright crippling; as if your limbs and internal organs detached themselves from you (without just dying) and somehow tried to go it alone. As individuals they are unbalanced and incomplete.
