Also has the Ophidian moved into the Central Battery or does she prefer staying in Paul's Lantern still? Would think the battery would be a lot nicer to stay in than the old fountain and Paul could easily connect his lantern to it so Ophidian could easily move between the two kinda like I assume Ion does
Seeing as apparently the last that Zoat mentioned of her the Ophidian was just hanging out in Okarran orbit with Granny HHH I personally like to think she's still out and about sticking her nose into things all over Maltus like a curious puppy.

All of over Maltus people are just going about their business when suddenly Orange Snek Surprise!:p

Also I hope she's trying to figure out how to get the Hondon of Avarice to materialize above the new CPB just to show off.

I found the response to Zod's being imprisoned odd. Without the knowledge that the Kryptonians used the Phantom Zone, wouldn't he think Zod was destroyed with the planet?

This update was actually rather entertaining. Which just raises more questions about why we had what is effectively two days of filler with the 'flash forward'.
Set up for the current section. My guess is that we'll cut back and forth between the framing device and wherever he needs to be. It's more interesting than going through all the good stuff and then hearing jilted descriptions of what Paul did.

The 'framing device' doesn't add anything to the story. In fact with the stupid translator it actively detracts.

Cutting back and forth doesn't make sense because the 'future' part is a non-event. It is either him narrating what we just saw but in painfully broken language or just another recruitment. The former is a waste of words and the latter would be better done in chronological order.

What Paul decided to leave unsaid was that with Larfleeze rendered impotent, the Guardians will consider the pact they made with the gnat to be null and void!
Shame about the other half dozen treaties keeping them out.
It is actually rather impressive, the Guardians managed to sell the same agreement to many people and none of them noticed that after the first one they were getting something they already had.

Is this version of Vril Dox cloned or is he Brainiac's biological son?

I sometimes get my continuities mixed up.

Fortunately for OL, it'll probably take a week or two before the Green Lanterns hear about this, followed by a few days of investigation before the Guardians even consider taking action.
Will the founding members of the new Orange Lantern Corps be listed under 'other lanterns' on the "With This Ring" TV tropes page? Or will they get their own section?

Gives a whole new meaning to the idea of Ceiling Snake

were basically

It flows much much better. For some reason that comes off stilted.
I disagree. It shifts the emphasis a bit, and I liked the original formulation better, personally. "These basically were for that" emphasizes that there was a secondary function or a faux function they appeared to have. "These were basically for that" instead suggests a more common knowledge amongst those who know about the topic at all.

It's subtle, and honestly I'm reading a lot more into it by writing this out, but I did like the original formulation better for this purpose. It spoke more of it being not news that there were cybernetic implants for control, but that the control was so much the primary purpose that there wasn't a real secondary one.

"Krypton." His jaw hardens as he walks towards his private bar. "It was Krypton. They didn't have much of a navy, but we had even less. I'd have taken revenge for it myself by now but their world was destroyed not long after, while I was but a boy. Not that that does my people any good."
Well, here's to hoping Amalak doesn't decide to try and visit Earth any time soon... Though I can imagine if Zod pops back out of the Phantom Zone he'd appreciate being called.

We will get many you now? And then squash the Gnat?

I like to think that it will take you a little while to find someone as good as-

You will always be my favourite.
I bet she'll be saying that to every other lantern she mounts, (as spirits/loa do), and enlighten.

The fact that the Ophidian increases in articulation, awareness and prioritizing after she merges with a suitable individual, and seeing things through their perceptions and senses for a time, (like Paul), is also something to look forward to!

By the by @Mr Zoat, what did Ion get from Guy Gardener for his/it's perception expansion? A love of sports and well developed females?

Semi-OT:

Given OL's previous success at getting industrialists to study magic and the fact that Reach Scarabs have difficulty combating supernatural threats, it'd be smart if one of the Orange Lantern Corp's goals was to seek out and collect knowledge of magic from various planets to develop new arcanotech.

There is some precedence, as Atrocitus used blood magic to forge the first red power ring. And Renegade!Mordru mentioned that he wanted to conquer magic-rich planets while leaving the rest of the universe to Grayven.
