their desires very neatly dovetail, and the part that's going well is the planning. Just because the plan for storming Mordor is put together quickly and well with little clashing doesn't mean the execution will go anything like as smooth.
for one thing there was a terrible windstorm that swept the eagles far off course, weren't able to catch up til the very end

Just occurred to me.
She doesn't have a lantern, does she?
EDIT: To clarify, she doesn't have a lantern to recharge from.

Saint Walker only becomes an outstanding leadership candidate after his entire family dies. Should the SI wait for that to happen, or intervene early and get a far less useful Blue Lantern?

I had thought Walker was already a Lantern, but if that's not yet the case I don't see the SI just letting that happen without some effort to intervene and help.

Knowledge. Handling the insanity generated by one colour is hard enough, though an institution can learn to manage it. Handling multiple different forms of insanity is harder and provides little benefit.

As for that yeah. I don't believe a multi-colored Lantern Corps would be very good- the methods used to handle the effects of Orange Light likely would not serve well I'm handling Red-but would an addition of multiple Corps be a bad thing? I can see problems, but it could also have benefits.

Might be from Dream disliking them over that whole "got dumped in favor of a sun".
Ah, I forgot about that...

If what Oa said about Dream's temper and cruelty is true, (and it is), It's more than likely that Dream punished the Maltusians in some way for Desire's little "joke".
"I have a list of names. People I think might work well for the first batch of recruits. I would teach them my techniques myself, and be on hand to bring them down if they started going off the rails.
Quality over Quantity!

Orange Enlightenment for all shall be a MUST!

Do neither. Assume that he can find Saint Walker's homeworld before he becomes a Lantern. The SI already knows roughly how events will transpire, that Walker's family will all die in his trek to the mountain. What the SI should do is save each family member before they die but trick Walker into believing they are dead just like in the comics. His son gets swept away in a stream? Pick him up when he's out of sight and put a fake body in his place. Someone about to die of malnutrition? Activate a sleeping pill that was implanted beforehand, then heal them after Walker leaves. Stuff like that.

Keep this a secret until after Walker reverts the sun to a normal state, then greet him with his family at the SI's back. This will further solidify Walker's belief that through hope, all will be well.

I don't think the benefits outweigh the costs. The FAQ has a list of the differences between power ring colors. For the most part, all power rings are virtually identical in function when not intentionally changed. They all have hard light constructs, various forms of FTL, ability to copy technology, stuff like that. In a normal engagement against things like warships or Scarab Warriors, the only color that would act notably different would be yellow. All the others would fight virtually identically.

Given that, having to manage a separate training program for each ring color and the accompanying insanity would be more trouble than it's worth.
...
I think the GL already have dibs on him...
I asume that you have something planed but I just cant see Salakk jumping ship.
Clarissi is apparently a title rather than a name. I know because I made the same mistake you did.

Ahhhh, I was a bit suspicious but I can see now that Zoat was just being a troll... and trying to string us along.

I do have to wonder if he will get any minor God's to join up. I cant see Eris joining just because i don't think she could care enough to help anyone.

You know...when you play god with people like this, even with prior knowledge of what SHOULD happen, it can really, REALLY turn around and bite you in the ass.

I agree that stringing Walker along sounds unnecessarily cruel. Maybe there's another way to do it.

One idea: Instead of letting the tragedies appear to happen, be oracular about it. Let him feel like he has hope to save the people along the way. Let him feel like it's up to him to be the hope for everyone else. Let him feel the full scope of the fear so that he has to believe there's a way out.

Oh, anyone have any good Larfleeze art? I'm ideally looking for something Young Justicey, but which also shows him looking thin. Emaciated, if possible. The closest I've found is below but it isn't ideal.

Looks more Earth 12, really, what with the huge upper torso.
