I honestly hope this guy gets a ring now, even if he has to trick one out of Paul.
Yeah, same. He knows what he wants, and he doesn't let himself get bogged down by ruling or any other petty desires. He wants to fight, a ring will let him fight better, so he'll try to get a ring. Simple, easy to follow his path of logic. Understandable as well.

Well, it's not like the Orange Lanterns won't need to do a fair bit of fighting.
There's always a need for meatshields valorous fighters to go fight the Reach.
Of course, trust is an issue in an organization that small and that powerful.

Seems like an interesting guy. I probably wouldn't give him a ring though. He seems much more suited for red or even green than orange in any case.

Hmm, he seems to love combat, the thrill of it, more then being consumed and lashing out. He saves mementos of moments he treasures. It's an abstract greed, but greed none the less.

Which is sort of what Paul is looking for in his corps, isn't he? Those whose desires come sideways, are about things less concrete and more mental. People who can channel Avarice to DO things rather then to collect them and then dig a hole and sit at the bottom of it. Of course he also has said he wants those kind of people, but he wants them where Avarice isn't there strongest emotion so that it isn't all consuming. This guy has been flashing Orange every couple of sentences. And this guy is clearly a terrible person - so he isn't a perfect fit.

But the question is... is he a good enough one?

I think you mean principal supporter.
Thank you, corrected.
I don't get what this line means. Maybe it should be "at the base"?
The Psions are hiding the base.
Is it weird that I went and checked the date that this story started, and then looked up the release/announcement date for Titanfall?
Little bit, but I'll let you off.

"Not for me." He flares his nostrils. "It's a Gordanian facility. Some sort of secret project."

Its citadelian.

It can't be a gordanian facility if all they are doing is providing the slaves. Also its implied the Citadelians are using the people of Tamaran to build something because THEY are too stupid to do it themselves.

To play devil's advocate, he's got an opportunity in front of him that he'd never have otherwise.

He knows quite clearly what a Power Ring is capable of. He also knows that the Guardians would never give him one.

But here before him is an entirely new Lantern, an Orange one. One that doesn't work for the Guardians and maybe, just maybe, is willing to give him a Ring.

I'd be more surprised if he wasn't flashing a lot of Orange.

I can see the argument. But look where he flashes Orange. He does it for a ring... and then he does it for his desire to fight. A ring is pretty much the ultimate weapon.

Who are you going to believe, Mr. Zoat or your lying eyes? :V
Well... Technically Zoat isn't lying. It might be too thick to curl around the Gordians. The picture only shows it around slightly and resting over the leg. So, my answer to your question is yes. :p

I find myself liking this guy.
Exactly what I was thinking. His sentimentality, his reasoning behind keeping his own (heavily-used, now functionally useless) weapons as trophies rather than things from his enemies, his straight-up honesty, and what I could possibly describe as simple charisma, or perhaps an odd sort of friendliness.

It's kind of endearing, because in the middle of Vega, all of these major factions looking to deceive OL into allying with them while planning to stab him in the back...and this guy seems to be genuinely dependable and easy to understand.

Agreed.
Is he trustworthy to give a ring? NO.
Jade wasn't. Robin wasn't.

Now... is he trustworthy to test for a ring? Signs actually point to yes, so long as he won't likely then outlive all sources of non-horrible war.
Given that the Reach is around, Darkseid is around, and alternate-universe Reaches and Darkseids are around? He's okay.

The real question is: How is his patience? How is his teamwork? Can he learn to use a ring well rather than darting off to pick fights until he goes mad or dies? Can he work with others, maybe even serve as an officer in the Darkstars?
Or will he go get himself killed making a massive, violent political problem for the young Orange Lantern Corps?
