I'm pretty sure that the Light is actually using Oceanus in Paragon side. In Renegade they plan for Grayven's team (plus a few other Light influenced 'heroes'?) To finish the job once The King takes out the League (and there's still significant odds of major casualties or outright armagedon) Without a 'follow up team' in place, the odds of everybody (including The Light) losing is too high in Paragonverse. Oceanus is safer (relatively).
Nope.
I'm betting Oceanus is the cover story, and the King of Tears is the actual threat, which is why they took the Bleed generator instead of trashing it.
There's been entirely too much foreshadowing(remember Johnny Sorrow) and the Light are not the sort of people to use a fly swatter where a hammer will do.

After all, these are the people who killed several hundred thousand children as a distraction.
Ra's considered putting orbital kill satellites as a reasonable response to overpopulation. They did deals with fucking Apokolips, and gave a fucking Starro magic upgrades.

The new generation aren't much better either; Saturnus released a hunger elemental he didn't know how to control in a major fucking city.
Trust that they will unleash something worse than they already threaten.
"They wrecked everything they didn't steal." I dismiss the mystic mumbo-jumbo and hold out my right hand towards Wallace. "Souvenirs of past missions?"
He looks pained, his mouth falling open. "Uh?"
"Smashed or taken."
Yeah, this tells you the kind of people you're dealing with: petty for being petty.
I'm waiting for someone to come up with the bright idea of outing some of the League.

Why are they so worried or surprised? OL's just being sensible.
Paul is competent, which is another word for scary in the setting? Everything he's shown can be used on them as well? The security features have gone from capture and contain to lethal force? Systems they don't fully understand are surrounding them and look a lot like a metaphorical gun? They just had all of their shit stolen or destroyed and it has made their very powerful and scary friend angry? All the of the above?

I hope Batman is smart and competent enough to realize that Batcave and Wayne manor are also completely compromised now (speaking of, did anyone check up on Alfred and Robin's uncle?) and asks OL to redo their defenses too.
I dunno, we only have 3 eps left for OL to transition onto being on bad terms with Batman, I think it was...

"Por que no los dos?"

The next episode is named Titanfall. Probably Oceanus. There's no reason for them not to try both.

This episode is called Titanfall. And it will almost certainly be Oceanus, although that still leaves the Light's backup plans. Because there has to be a secondary and a tertiary plan - that's just how they roll.

What is a Saremite?

EDIT: Something just came to mind. Some of the pragmatic decisions occuring to Paul ad not other heroes could be due to the secret identity disconnect.

Paul doesn't have one and they do. They separate work and home, where Paul lives in his work. The same could be said of Diana and the Hawks which is why they agree with him on a lot of points.

Superheroes are trying to be normal people in their spare time, something their enemies are now actively exploiting.

Again Truggs proves to be the biggest asshole of story, not only stealing the various tech and artifacts but also destroying their stuff for no other reason but to be petty, and all while thinking that what he's doing is for the best. I seriously hope Paul either directly kills off another member of the Light or indirectly through his defense upgrades and hopefully it's Truggs because seriously fuck that guy.

They got Paul to express hate/rage twice and the only other being to have done that is Nabu, so it's likely to lead to a long awaited renegade prompt leading to him take advantage of a legal grey area to kill or something, and again shows that while he's a hero he won't hesitate to kill them if he thinks it has a better benefit than letting them live. The knowledge Truggs has about the future and the Light's plan aren't really valuable when his own goals already cover most of he's already trying to do, letting him go would just hinder any future plans for the worse.

When the light inevitably fail I hope they don't go past further than the pants on head retarded than they already have, unless they decide to try to deal with beings like The Endless, because the only thing I see happening is they some how create an even worse future or implode so badly it kills not only them but everyone else too.

Thinking about it they're probably worried because this has happened before. The Mountain was attacked by threats OL wasn't able to stop or do anything against, they invaded and trashed his home, it had a clear effect on him emotionally, and OL is clearly not okay and is trying to act like he's fine.

Now am I describing this attack or the one where the robots made OL watch as his home was flooded and he and his friends almost drowned?

It's an on/off switch. Once he recovers from the Angel feather round, all he has to do is find Gary Lester's soul, reincarnate him and then perform the binding ritual.
At which point he displays fun new vocabulary as he discovers OL effectively killed it.

Oh Ophi absorbed one of the invaders. I wonder if Truggs realizes that happened or thinks it's some esotoric defense Paul set up for his lantern. If the latter it means Paul has a inside track on the Lights plans.

Probably not a big one if they took the common sense of making sure the raiders didn't know anything critical. But Light and common sense don't really go together do they?

At this point OL kind of has to contact the controllers and talk to them.

The lights gone full retard and the reach are coming soon, earth needs that outside back up stat.

Not surprising OLs reaction not only from a logical standpoint but even a natural one.

In RL people who have had their homes broken into and ruined have felt lots of negative emotions due to how they basically harmed their place of comfort reacting in much the same way OL did doing what they could to prevent such an event from happening again.

Not to mention OL naturally being possessive of what he cares for which includes the mountain that is his home.

@Mr Zoat were any major items lost in the raid besides the bleed generator? It's good they couldn't grab the Ace or Sword but anything else of note that is now gone?

It's a good thing the Spear of Destiny was not kept in mountain.

Me? I just think it's funny anyone thought they could steal Ophid-chan.

Random Saremmite: "Oh, look! Here's Orange Lanterns Lantern! I'll grab it, guys! Aaaaaaaggggghhhhhhh!!!!!"

Ophidian: "Mine!"

2nd Saremmite: "Uhhhm, let's just leave that and tell the Boss we couldn't find it."

All: "Agreed!"

You know at this point I'm kind of hoping/expecting to see Paul basically give Lex the "Rightous Man" speech that Sam Jackson had in the diner scene from Pulp Fiction.
Paul is trying his hardest to be a good person here, but Lex just keeps pushing with stupider and stupider schemes.

In the end Paul won't even be mad...just disappointed.

"Dude…"

Wallace openly gawks at what I've done to the hangar. Richard does a quick sweep of the place then looks down, wincing slightly.

"Ah, are you.. okay?"

Kon's a sweetie.

daww, they are probably remembering how he went a little nuts the last time there home got attacked. It sweet that the first thing they are worried about is if he is ok.

"No?" He takes a boomerang from his utility belt and throws it upwards. It makes it two metres before a dematerialiser locks on and eliminates it in a puff of green. "That looks a lot like lethal force to me."

"What? The system can distinguish between devices and people. The Light know where we live now. As far as I'm concerned, it was this or move house. And I'm not moving house for these people." Hm. "And anyway, Rhode Island law is quite clear on the subject of home defence against armed invaders. The Reds came in via the sea entrance and Truggs' people phased through the walls. And stole everything that wasn't nailed down."

see? It would be totally legal if this vaporized a supervillain, so I don't see the issue.

"Um..?" M'gann shakily raises her right hand. "How do you know that? I mean, no one was here and you said they destroyed all the recording equipment."

"You know how I don't assimilate sentients?" Oh, for goodness sake Wallace. Really? "No." I shake my head and roll my eyes. "One of the Saremites who took part in the attack went for my personal lantern. Where the Ophidian lives."

huh, well I guess that answers the question about how secure his lantern is. Also, really Wallace? you know how OL works, if he's not using an I win button he's making a choice not to use it.

"Well, the existing geomantic wards only blocked scrying and detection. Since everyone knows where we are, all those were doing was preventing them from monitoring what we're doing day by day, which… Basically pointless. The new version incorporates a rather interesting spiritual prison effect. If the attacker doesn't know what they're doing, it sucks magic -and eventually their whole soul- out of their body."

"Ah… You don't… Actually mean..?"

daaaamn, that is some hardcore mystic protection there.

"Alright, it's more like it locks it away from their body. It's not an instant death, and it would be very obvious to any magic user inside the mountain what had happened. On the other hand, Rhode Island law theoretically treats magic attack in exactly the same way as any other attack… So legally it's cool."

also, still legal! oh and most likly not actually lethal.

"Good job there wasn't, actually. The Saremite said the attacking group consisted of twelve of Truggs' men and fifty or so other Saremites. I might have been able to fight that off, but there wouldn't be much left of them or of the mountain afterwards."

I dunno, the saremites would have been more or less chafe if OL went lethal since naked things without durability tend to die demonstrating OL has signed no treaties about the use of chemical weapons. That would leave the 12 mercs, who while troublesome are at most only moderately railgun resistant. Though if OL had been here fighting them the hawks would have likly died.

Richard looks around once more. "You've certainly.. done everything you can to stop them doing anything like that again. Why don't you.. show us what else you've done with the place?"

is anyone else reading this as "let's make sure he did't do anything super crazy"? like they are half expecting to find something like an ICBM progamed to launch in retalaiton or something?

Would Lester even end up in Hell in this AU?
He certainly doesn't have the demon in him now, anyway.

Titan does not have to be literal.
The League is a figurative titan in it's sphere. So is the Light. And the King of Tears.

Also this.
Entirely too much of canon had them with backup plans to recover from the Team fucking up whatever bright idea they had running.
