Er...Queen Bee is no more. She's ceased to be. She's expired and gone to meet her maker. She's a late Queen. She's a stiff. Bereft of life, she rests in peace. If she hadn't been sliced up by drones she'd be pushing up the daisies. She's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. She is an Ex-Queen!

Is there a reference I'm missing here?

Aye. And Ra's is concerned about the population growth? Throw condoms at developing nations. That's where the population growth is coming from. Don't blow up developed nations who are much less of an issue. Try to wipe out religions, change the culture on having lots of kids, and improve education. Dear gods, it isn't difficult to come up with a long lasting solution.

Why wipe out religion? Especially in a world/universe where I can conclusively prove that gods exist?

Au yis!
Nice to see Grayven with his white hat on.

I think the specific point being made in that post was directed at religious doctrines that teach that a large family with lots of children is a blessing and it's everyone's duty to make as many baby [religion]ists as possible.

Because they're an unnecessary intermediary step. Why have priests or doctrine when you can just consult the deity directly?

Because (at least I assume) most deities in this world can't directly answer every prayer, talk to each person, empower every worshipper, etc. This a system of religion and belief supported by mortals is a smart idea for any god.

Ok, that actually makes sense (though it would probably be easier to ask any god that supports expansion through population what they think of overpopulation and have a logical discussion ending with a refinement of their holy text).

It should be noted that religions don't necessarily care all that much about the contents of their holy texts. While certainly many do, in the real world plenty of religious people have behaviors and beliefs that aren't supported by -- or even blatantly contradict -- their written scriptures.

And then not every religion is actually backed by a real deific life form. There are non-theistic religions, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are some actual false religions even in a world with demonstrably real gods. Very few Earth-16 Christians have met their God or any angels, after all.

Also, good luck getting an established society to change their traditional values.

Well, the Abrahamic religions are included on that list, and last I checked the Presence was a bit shy.

{Helios stares at the phone, waiting for Kon to get in touch again.}

Didn't Kon invoke Helios during the mission in Gotham when he was fighting Deacon Blackfire not too long ago? Shining purity of the sun burning away filthy demonic corruption? I mean Kon's not some totally squishy mortal who needs to invoke divine power on all adversaries.

On a side note, what does Helios think of Paul? Paul was the one who steered Kon towards Helios. What about Poseidon? Deeper contact with Atlantis, cleaning the oceans, although that's double billing with Gaea. Athena? Demeter? What about the other 2 Muses who got their sister back shortly after Paul heard about it?

@Mr Zoat
So does the King of Tears have any relationship with the now somewhat extinct Empire of Tears?

Because it's always interesting to see more of the Gaurdians's dirty laundry aired as opprosed to just chalking it up to D.C. writers being too lazy to come up with different names for different things.

That's because in the real world, gods don't exist to correct them, or to take action against those slandering them.

The end-goal of the King of Tears plan is to set up Graven as the head of a replacement Justice League. If what Graven is doing right now with the U.S. Government works out, he will be in a great position to be leader of a team that stands as an alternative to the JL. If it weren't for the whole bit about supposedly being an alien prince and not a U.S. citizen, I'd expect him to become the leader of a state-sponsored team.
Why? He's already the leader of a state-sponsored team.

The Black siblings, Imane, Tiger Tawny, the tactical direction of Dr Robinson, and the Sphere to play team mascot, under the aegis of the Apokoliptian sovereign ambassador to Earth. There are potential auxiliaries like Lynn and Pony chick, Claire Selton/Volcana, and Kid Flash's friend.
They even have a sweet base under Challenger Mountain, worldwide teleport access, an Apokoliptian-tier tech base, as well as ample drone firesupport and medical facilities.

And that doesn't even account for the fact that he could call on Orange!Nabu, who is currently on detached duty with Giovanni Zatarra.
As a matter of fact, Grayvy already controls one of the more potent metahuman teams on Earth, and I'm sure everyone knows it.

Personally?
I'm waiting to see how the Jade thing plays out.

Because given that she is apparently fairly content with the League of Shadows, and that Ra's is a paranoid git, there is no way they either don't have contingency orders to kill him, or more likely simply implanted takeover protocols to turn her into a sleeper agent, whether she likes it or not.
Between Brain,Mordru and the tech they used on the JL, it's well within their power.

By the way, how is Nabu doing in the renegade timeline? Last we saw him he was fraying at the edges due to incompatibility with the Orange Light. Will anything come from that?

Giving free condoms has been proven to not work that well save for preventing aids. And do you know what works better because you only have to do it once? Male circumcision.

Is funny how many jewish religious beliefs are about higiene and preventing disease.

I don't want to be rude about it, but nothing in this post is actually true.

Male circumcision has no impact on STD transmission rate. And while it does have a SLIGHT fertility risk, it's not enough to have a statistically relevant effect on population. Furthermore, the belief that circumcision has any effect on disease transmission or fertility actually causes an increase in unsafe practices.

Circumcision is, itself, a risky practice. Infection of the incision is a risk, and even with modern practices there's a risk that the scar tissue will cause a constriction around the shaft. So that's another way that it actually causes an increase in disease instead of a decrease.

The hygiene benefit is negligible at best. It's true that oils and skin cells will build up beneath the foreskin. However, unless the foreskin is deformed, you just have to pull on the skin a little and it slides right out of the way, allowing it to be cleaned. This is what non-circumcised men do without even really thinking about it.

And back to the first point: Free condoms have been shown to be effective at reducing pregnancy rates. The only issue is a social one where young people don't want to advertise themselves as being sexually active by going to get them, which is why making them free (instead of having to create a paper trail by purchasing them) and discreetly available is effective.

But that's my point; OL is busy getting people to fix their own problems, and encouraging them to go farther; without the JL doing a thing to stop him. Instead of making noises about the matter but not actually accomplishing anything.

The supervillains are also ignoring that the actual big problem that the JL is there to deal with is, well, them. If Earth 16 humanity ever got to the point where it didn't need the JL, most of the Light would (probably to their complete surprise) be quite screwed, since they'd be high on the list of problems to be dealt with. "No one is super if everyone is super" applies to supervillains too.
The idea of the Paragon side Light just... sort of ineffectually flapping their hands during those Uplight Earth meetings because Paul's already doing it for them really tickles me.
