Sense stealing? Tricky thing to fight.

I do wonder if they would be able to seal off a martian's telepathy for example tho...

"Percent", perchance?
I do not think that works.

I think, plus either ' a' or 'matters'.
Thank you, corrected.
I don't remember where the Ace is currently stored but I think it causes a large power drain to put into Subspace.
It's getting to the point where he's going to decide to just take the hit.

lets see... how did "this Bites" say it...
This Bites CHapter 15 said:
"Let me give you an example. Imagine a fruit known as the Blind Blind Fruit. When somebody eats it, they become a Blind person, capable of stealing a sense from anybody with a single touch. Tell me: what senses could that person steal?"

"Um..." Usopp started counting down on his fingers. "Taste, touch, smell, hearing and sight. Right?"

"That's all? Really?" I tilted my head innocently.

"Uh... yeah?"

I was silent as I just stared at Usopp, seconds ticking by.

Finally, Usopp broke the silence. "Uh, Cross?"

"How long was I silent, Usopp?" I asked him.

"Huh? Uh... ten, twelve seconds I think? Why? What does that-?"

"Sounds like your sense of time is right on track," I interrupted him.

"H-huh? Yeah, I guess it is, so wha-!" Usopp cut himself off as a look of realization and horror swept over his face. "W-wait, you can't mean-!"

Before Usopp could finish speaking, I reached over to Chopper and flicked his nose.

"OW!" the young reindeer yelped, clamping his hooves down on his muzzle. "WATCH IT!"

"And it would appear that Chopper's sense of pain is working pretty well," I mused.

Chopper immediately froze. "No way... you can't mean-!"

"Hey Zoro, which way do you think is north?" I didn't give the swordsman the time to respond. "Never mind, I forgot that your sense of direction isn't exactly the best."

Zoro was too busy looking green with horror to respond.

I spread my arms wide as I started to pace around the forecastle. "Sense of pain, sense of hunger, sense of balance, sense of proprioception - aka hand-eye coordination - sense of fashion... and what of your sense of morality? Your sense of thought? Of self? Of independence?" I looked at them all slowly. "Can you imagine the consequences of losing a single one? For so much as a moment?"
The silence was absolutely deafening

So...
1) This seems like a pretty high investment attack here. Sense stealing demons who can bypass spelleaters is how you kill Batman and people on his level. Not something to casually demonstrate, because it leads to developments of counter measures. Such as an Integrity Protection Prana magic (enforce an area where the enchantment and physical law compositionnis very specific) being created. I mean, OL already has that "enforce physical laws" technique. It's a power hog. Making development based on it and magic is a logical next step.

In any case, I have to wonder what the end goal is. It heavily depends on whether the attackers knew that Paul would be here. Assuming yes, it's likely a distraction. Assuming no, probably a grab for... Hawks' ship maybe?

2) Satanus seems to be the smartest and most active member of the Light right now. I still don't get how Light could delude thrmselves that literally a version of Satan had humanity's interests in mind, by the way.

3) Hollow Man body... They could probably stick someone in there (Fear Elemental, gice Plant Thing a human avatar to play with, use it for genus loki of Atlantis / Ice Fortress / Mount Justice / Shadowcrest / whatever), or make a soul entirely from scratch. Now, identity seems to be contained in both soul and brain with a feedback aystem, so rehabilitation might be possible. If so, they're going to need to pour a lot of magic into quickly powering the soul system for it to be effective. In any case, Paul might have just got himself a WH40K style servitor.

Because Satanus, presuming his behaviour is consistent with the comics, is a better person than some people already in the Light?

Satanus has enough of a sense of noblesse oblige that he's a "makes the trains run on time" kind of guy, which is more than you can say for Savage, Ra's, and the standard depictions of Lex. But I don't see Lex becoming a justice league member or turning Earth into a scientocracy utopia any time soon in this fic.

So I'd rate his sincerity about the welfare of mankind is probably on the higher end of the scale, at least among the Light.

And considering he's a demon and lord of hell, that's just kind of a sad statement.

Isn't he Shazam's son? He used to be human, at least. He does make marginally more sense than fucking Mordru.
Marginally.

Just... the constant use of the phrases "Devil-jizz/jizzed up/jizzer" is cracking me up.

I'm trying to imagine batman reading that report and just sighing.

As for the sense-stealing crap, at least they can only do one or two at a time. If they could take everything at once, it'd be a problem.

So how big is Katar and Shayera's house if they have a hangar? Is the hangar underground?

If St Roch is in Louisiana, it might be cool if the Hawks' house is some plantation style house they bought and upgraded.

Maybe Satanus actually takes the Light's supposed goal seriously, and actually wants to instigate the creation of countermeasures and related advancements?

Savage: "Satanus! Your actions have inspired this Orange Lantern and his allies to develop countermeasures, and has accelerated their research into defensive magic in general."

Satanus: "Well, yes? I was told the whole point of this enterprise was to push humanity out of its present stagnation?"

Savage: "..."

Satanus: "I mean really, people. Do I have to do all your work for you?"

I can't decide which rating this deserves more, an insightful or funny.

That would be kinda hilarious, yes. Speaking of, how many demon legions (and how many demons per legion) do you need to qualify for hell nobility? And what benefits does said nobility give? Because if OL keeps breeding his demon swarm, he might end up there at some point.

It could simply be carried, or worn in an integrated and warded holster on the back. Or have a micro-Dolmen gate put in front of it, linked to the palm of a hand or to a shoulder-turret. Or use conventional teleportation or rapid-response drone delivery.

Of course, with villains being their usual self and pulling out all kinds of drama-inducing magic, it may be best to just leave it as strongly secured as possible.

Forget Nobility. I wonder if he could pull of a communist revolution...

The simple solution for "magic items take lots of energy to put into subspace" is to carry a separately powered subspace pocket generator. in subspace, if possible (I mean, rings don't dump their contents out when they lose charge, so it might be possible). I mean, Paul has infinite energy generators (bleed membrane generators) that are man portable. Hook a subspace generator to them, instead of directly to ring power.

Then Paul dies, someone inherits his ring, and the nested, branching, endless maze of pockets that they have to sort out totals three times the volume and mass of the universe.
