Constantine is friends/on good terms with Shade, right, Shade being a Chaos Lord, and a reasonably good guy at that? So sounds like a perfect opportunity for John to *mess* things up royally.

Well, unless you know of someone with better intentions who is sufficiently chaotic, I'm not aware of any good alternatives. I've never really read any Constantine focused comics, but from what I've picked up he seems generally well intentioned but is faced with unwinnable conditions, and usually only manages a Pyrrhic victory. Giving him lots of power and preventing someone worse from coming along is a pretty decent plan.

to be fair, the only real way to GUARANTEE this safe is to soulkill John's psychopathic undead brother to provent further sabotage, and note im one of the "Constantine both deserves a break, AND chances to fix problems WITHOUT being forced into using Pyrrhic means" camp
*coughs*referring to the one who's dedicated his unlife to doing his best to drag any world where John survived into hell out of petty spite? the one who is (depending on the version of the setting) personally responsible for arranging almost every disaster involving his brother >.>
i STILL think his "Utopia" would have been a horrific nightmare under the shiny surface....

I think that having permission automatically makes any chaos rituals fail. It's straining it enough with planning it in advance, but getting permission from a very rigid government would be antithetical to the very ideal of chaos.
to be fair, wouldn't that be what you'd EXPECT to happen?

So, Constantine will become a Lord of Chaos. Any bets on his evil twin becoming the ruler of hell?
WHICH evil twin? :p

Huh. So I was just listening through my random Youtube playlist, and guess what blast from the past popped up.

I gotta say, this has given me a real urge to go back and reread the entire story. Though that would probably be insane considering how massive it is.

still don't get why mentioning John name get that kind of reaction
Cause Zoat opinion of him heavily affect every character opinion of him.

Nah fuck that, the ruler of hell shall be OL, the only way TDC is getting to be a ruler of hell is by interim for OL after he's been assimilated.

"I know. I'm not instinctively a particularly chaotic person. It's just that I look around, and… The existing order is so dysfunctional. It needs to change. The world needs more chaos, and if I'm the person in the right place…" I nod. "Then that's how it is."
Religion question:
What is it called when a worshipper needs to perform a deed or feat to get accepted into a religion's inner circle? Initiation?

Up until now, all (most?) of OL's shaking up of the status quo has caused lowercase-c chaos as a byproduct of trying to create a better order. But the premeditated slaying of either Nabu or Klarion will be OL's first act of uppercase-c CHAOS, which ought to have symbolic or metaphysical consequences.

In terms of OL performing uppercase-c CHAOS as a test of his Discordian worthiness, the Greco-Roman meaning of "mystery" means "secrets that aren't revealed to the uninitiated" and/or "any truth that is unknowable except through divine revelation".

Step1: avarice enlightenment.

Step2: order/chaos enlightenment, sort of like Adam Warlock from Marvel comics.

Step3. life/death enlightenment, as life is inherently chaotic.

I like the idea that there are multiple levels of enlightenment, and that there are always higher vistas of understanding and awareness to attain.
