Oh I was reading up on Arion and discovered that he had a trick that would make Cornwall Boy a whole lot more versatile, presuming the quirks of his family magic allow him to learn it- Arion knows how to power his magic with mundane energies.
At full power (Arion had a habit of going through low power phases because he'd do some massive act of magic that he'd actually break his ability to do magic until it recovered, there was at least one point where he couldn't even lift a leaf without a magic item to supply the mojo) Arion used solar energy, either from "all the stars in the sky" to draining enough power from the Sun that he literally caused an ice age.
At lower power, he'd use things like a fire or a storm.
Going from "magic eater guy" to "Bishop of the X-Men, but with magic" would certainly up CB's game.

We just confirmed that OL is an inveterate liar who will say literally anything if he thinks it will get him what he wants. That's actually, in retrospect, a fairly obvious side-effect of overdosing on the Orange Light, but it definitely casts our protagonist in a decidedly different light.
