The Slave Who Makes Free: An Anakin Skywalker Quest

[X] Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

Funnily enough, Vader's words here ring true, while Luke's ring false.

I must have misunderstood the system then, cause for me "giving in to the temptation" should reduce stress, i.e be blue
It does reduce Stress, but at a cost. I want to differentiate "this reduces Stress by helping you deal with your problems or making you feel safer or happier" from "this reduces Stress by lashing out at others or yourself".

Realize what you have within you, and make a choice.

It is not about making the right choice. Or making it now. But looking and thinking.

+1: Depukrekta, repairer of chains
Hmm.
+1: The dark is patient
The dark is generous, and it is patient.
It is the dark that seeds cruelty into justice, that drips contempt into compassion, that poisons love with grains of doubt.
The dark can be patient, because the slightest drop of rain will cause those seeds to sprout.
The rain will come, and the seeds will sprout, for the dark is the soil in which they grow, and it is the clouds above them, and it waits behind the star that gives them light.
The dark's patience is infinite.
Eventually, even stars burn out.

The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins.
It always wins because it is everywhere.
It is in the wood that burns in your hearth, and in the kettle on the fire; it is under your chair and under your table and under the sheets on your bed. Walk in the midday sun, and the dark is with you, attached to the soles of your feet.
The brightest light casts the darkest shadow.

Goddamn the ROTS novelization goes so hard.

Anyways

If there's any chance of coming out the other end of this as something other than Vader, it begins with self-knowledge

I think one of the things that Olin doesn't realize is that Anakin's actions are colored by his life as a slave and his drive to be useful to have purpose. He compares himself to everyone else because that's how he derives a sense of worth. It's not healthy but it's not going to go away without a hell of a lot of therapy.
