I'd prefer to strengthen our social bonds with our fellow Jedi so we don't have to rely on Palpatine as much.

I must admit its very interesting watching the better parts of legends and discanon meld together like this into a more cohesive whole. The benefit of there being two expansive versions of the same property, I suppose. Also it makes it harder to guess what'll happen, which I personally like.

I like the friendly, chatty Anakin we're developing here. Not devoid of his darker impulses, but less broody overall. Or maybe those are lurking in a dark alley, waiting for us to hit puberty.

You already knew this, of course—on some level, you have always known. But Palpatine is the first person you have met since you left your mother to acknowledge it…and even to affirm it.

Deep down, you suspect that "you have the power to change the galaxy" is not a sentence you will ever hear spoken in the halls of the Jedi Temple.

Palpatine is inflating Anakin's ego and confidence, he's good at what he does.

Palps is at his strongest when he's buttering people, especially Anakin, up. If he's the devil of the Star Wars galaxy, he's the Al Pacino version whose favorite sin is vanity. Unfortunately that means he's tailor-made to manipulate someone of our age, ability, and circumstances.

I don't want Anakin to just be chatterbox. Let's do a bit more Jedi stuff, yeah?

In a way it's also tangentially related to strengthening Anakin's bonds with them, who knows what insights it'd provide him when it comes to his friends?
