Controversial gaming opinion: video games are good.
I think I'll bow out here, because the argument has now gone full circle on whether everything is political or not, and we've simply hit the wall of fundamental disagreement.Problem being it's bandied about so much and it's so fundamentally wrong that you don't need to be very clever to see why it's bullshit. It's insulting to intelligence at best and actively works against foundational building. Plus it gets repeated so much that it's just a bad advert.

It's a cultural icon for quite a few Asian nations, but there are actually a bunch of Asian societies that don't use chopsticks, and they might get kinda mad that media is depicting them as using chopsticks when they don't. Considering there's a lot of discussion considering Chinese "cultural imperialism"...
Sure, so long as nobody brings politics into it.I'm pretty sure that this has gone beyond derail into trainwreck. Can we bring it back to games-specific stuff?
Now that right there is some of the best comedic timing I've seen in a good while!
Here's my unpopular opinion
Here's my unpopular opinion
The Dragonborn should have supported Jarl Balgruuf to become ruler of Skyrim
The Dragonborn isn't qualified to make political decisions, but Jarl Balgruuf has political flexibility
Why else would he pledge loyalty to the empire and yet let somebody yell about Talos in front of his castle
Counterpoint: The Dragonborn themself becoming ruler of Skyrim, rather than supporting the rule of someone who doesn't have an actual divine mandate backing them up.Here's my unpopular opinion

That's honestly the only thing that made me dislike that questline.JARL BALLER IS THE MOST LIKED JARL IN SKYRIM THIS IS NOT CONTROVERSIAL FERN
Reminder: if you support the Stormcloaks, that means you murdered Baalgruf which makes you a dickhead.
If the Dragonborn supports someone, that literally is a divine mandateCounterpoint: The Dragonborn themself becoming ruler of Skyrim, rather than supporting the rule of someone who doesn't have an actual divine mandate backing them up.
Balgruuf never put his hat in for it though. Whachu wanna do, point a sword at him and make him run for it?Here's my unpopular opinion

No? Balgruuf survives the game regardless of choices.Reminder: if you support the Stormcloaks, that means you murdered Baalgruf which makes you a dickhead.
Counter-counterpoint: let dragons rule the world. One of the gods is already a dragon, so if that's not a divine mandate, I don't know what is.Counterpoint: The Dragonborn themself becoming ruler of Skyrim, rather than supporting the rule of someone who doesn't have an actual divine mandate backing them up.
Have you actually played New Vegas or KOTOR 2?I'm pretty tired of western RPGs, mostly by obsidian, being full of edgelord ALTERNATE MORALITY takes, like the Legion being good guys or Kreia being right in wanting to kill the force (and tons of people).
I do not understand how you could play KOTOR 2 and come away with the impression that Kreia is supposed to be anything but the villain.

I don't understand how one could play KotoR2 and like the game, personally.
- A lot of amusing dialogues and/or atmospheric locations.
- Edgy 'but what if you turn all the Star Wars tropes on its heads and then insist it is still Star Wars?!'.
A teenager on the internet going 'hmm yes this highly villainous waifu is clearly right about everything in spite of all in-game evidence to the contrary' doesn't mean the game developers are going 'see this perspective is right! moral ambiguity!'You'd be surprised at how many people go "NAH MAN KREIA IS TOTALLY RIGHT"
