Problem being it's bandied about so much and it's so fundamentally wrong that you don't need to be very clever to see why it's bullshit. It's insulting to intelligence at best and actively works against foundational building. Plus it gets repeated so much that it's just a bad advert.
I think I'll bow out here, because the argument has now gone full circle on whether everything is political or not, and we've simply hit the wall of fundamental disagreement.

So what's the political meaning of chopsticks?
It's a cultural icon for quite a few Asian nations, but there are actually a bunch of Asian societies that don't use chopsticks, and they might get kinda mad that media is depicting them as using chopsticks when they don't. Considering there's a lot of discussion considering Chinese "cultural imperialism"...

Then you have things like Europeans using chopsticks to eat (large) pieces of sushi, which will confuse the fuck out of most Japanese people and betrays ignorance of Japanese culture if shown in media. And then, of course, there are all kinds of chopstick behaviour in Japan being considered hella rude because of their association with Japanese funerary rites.

So yeah, chopsticks are kinda political. I've just gotten started, too. :V

EDIT: Oh, were you guys talking about the piece of music? Welp, point remains: everything is political!

EDIT 2: Like, holy shit, I could actually also start talking about how the musical associations we have of specific cultures can lead to a a lot of bullshit misrepresentations and misconceptions but I would have to tag @Rook about that stuff because lol MUSIC THEORY AND MUSICOLOGY

Sure, so long as nobody brings politics into it.

That Radical Leliana is most unfit to be Divine. She has far too many crazy new ideas!

And Vivienne? HA! A Reactionary if I've ever seen one.

But Cassandra...she understands and cares for tradition while acknowledging some moderate reforms are in order. A nice, sensible Conservative woman. A perfect choice for Divine.

Here's my unpopular opinion

The Dragonborn should have supported Jarl Balgruuf to become ruler of Skyrim

The Dragonborn isn't qualified to make political decisions, but Jarl Balgruuf has political flexibility

Why else would he pledge loyalty to the empire and yet let somebody yell about Talos in front of his castle

JARL BALLER IS THE MOST LIKED JARL IN SKYRIM THIS IS NOT CONTROVERSIAL FERN

Reminder: if you support the Stormcloaks, that means you murdered Baalgruf which makes you a dickhead.

Counterpoint: The Dragonborn themself becoming ruler of Skyrim, rather than supporting the rule of someone who doesn't have an actual divine mandate backing them up.

Balgruuf never put his hat in for it though. Whachu wanna do, point a sword at him and make him run for it?

No? Balgruuf survives the game regardless of choices.

If we're on the subject of Jarls, Idgrod Ravencrone is the best Jarl. Brunwulf Free-Winter's pretty neat too though.

Counter-counterpoint: let dragons rule the world. One of the gods is already a dragon, so if that's not a divine mandate, I don't know what is.

I'm pretty tired of western RPGs, mostly by obsidian, being full of edgelord ALTERNATE MORALITY takes, like the Legion being good guys or Kreia being right in wanting to kill the force (and tons of people).

I'm pretty tired of western RPGs, in a depressingly large number of cases, having horrendous control schemes and UIs.

Possibly this is because any attempts to bring the UIs to something more user-friendly is decried as "dumbing down", with various degrees of accuracy.

Have you actually played New Vegas or KOTOR 2?

Seriously, the Legion are shown to be utter scum at basically every turn. And you're entirely free to just disagree with Kreia and be a normal noble-hearted Jedi.

I do not understand how you could play KOTOR 2 and come away with the impression that Kreia is supposed to be anything but the villain.

  1. A lot of amusing dialogues and/or atmospheric locations.
  2. Edgy 'but what if you turn all the Star Wars tropes on its heads and then insist it is still Star Wars?!'.

But that's just it - for all its subversiveness and rejigging, it's very fundamentally still star wars and you can do very star wars things like grab a lightsaber, save the galaxy and so on. The best ending is the pure good-side fuck-you-Kreia ending, after all.

You'd be surprised at how many people go "NAH MAN KREIA IS TOTALLY RIGHT"
A teenager on the internet going 'hmm yes this highly villainous waifu is clearly right about everything in spite of all in-game evidence to the contrary' doesn't mean the game developers are going 'see this perspective is right! moral ambiguity!'

Well, not necessarily, at any rate.
