Currently in the middle of changing his place of residence, due to a run in with some large rodents and a dead Witch Hunter.

I don't trust Grom. 'Merchant' is just a word that means sanctioned thief; you can never trust a merchant. Ernst at least is trying to ascend above his base nature, and his name is even Earnest.
 
@Pillowsperky something to add with thyriol is that despite his brashness he did atleast think ahead in that before he went to lustria he studied almost religiously to understand the language of the lizardmen and there writing so it would look good on him to actually have conversation with his prospective mentors instead just having a translator on hand. Not knowing slann have telepathy but atleast it would help them decipher lizardmen script if they are on adventures looking for information.

Also with trying to get all that knowledge basically got him broke on money so he can't really come back empty handed.

These ones look like the most valuable to begin with. Anwen, Elena, and Briala can help Rapunzel explore the vicinity of our settlement, mapping out the place and identifying useful herbs we can use for our colony. Two are elves and the human's a nerd, so I think Rapunzel would vibe with them pretty well. Johann and Klaus, meanwhile, provide early security for our colony, dealing with dangerous creatures that threaten our people. Until Else and Gus set up something more permanent, they'll be quite valuable.

Keep in mind that adventurers are semi-disposable mini-heroes. My understanding is that they're good to throw at problems here and there, but big problems are tackled by our advisors, and adventurers can be expected to die semi-regularly.

You will be able to purchase up to 10 adventurers ('Hiring them') at an initial cost of 5 Mo each, with an upkeep of 1 Mo per Month.
Unhired adventurers will rotate through the colony via the tavern, travelling to your colony and to the others along the lustrian coast in pursuit of their goals.
Expedition Treasures are Expensive, and essentially lead into potentially lucrative or Unique Expeditions when researched, however keep in mind that Unresearched treasures will essentially be big fat targets for enemy agents and saboteurs to come steal or break, and some factions will become a bit ornery about their existence -and pursuing their secrets- without careful diplomatic maneuvering.

You do have quite a bit left, but then again I originally planned that amount to also include hiring Mercenaries.

You may still hire mercenaries for the 2nd Wave of ships, but that wave will be smaller.

Agree, two leads are enough. Beside the map, i think we should also take The Luminous Orchid Bloom, feels like another potentialy extremely rewarding expedition. All the nobles and wealthy of the Old World would pay lots of money to increase their lifespans safely.
 
I think we'll want to go hard on martial adventurers while we're getting set up. Not all of them, just the ones that seem amenable to playing guard duty for a while. There's gonna be a lot of proverbial giant rats in the cellar without any mercenaries to cover for us, so we'll be relying entirely on them for security.

This would be an amazing gift to the lizardmen and tlaxtlan is the main temple city near us down south and they are the most friendly one. So i think we should take this and give It to the lizardmen after we find it's secrets. Also it's synergies with thyriol If we get him and its cheap.
