[X] Old Ship: Denva Public
Yeah I like W, but I don't like her that much.
...Can they run the Juvenat facility? We didn't pick up large scale OMC, so they can't run installations, IIUC. I suppose they could refit it to be manual operation? Probably take a while at the very least.
While there seemed some support for keeping to try reactivating the defenses despite the risk of killing the engineers and blowing up the station it did not seem more than the support for not doing it to me.
Removed from plan.
Just leave it in the plan as a "Eldar going to kill or worse them anyway may as wall try to kill some of them or die less painfully at least" option. While there seemed some support for keeping to try reactivating the defenses despite the risk of killing the engineers and blowing up the station it did not seem more than the support for not doing it to me.

Actually? I think it's more complicated than that, and not along the axis of hostile to friendly.Fair enough on my part, like I said it depends on how optimistic you are feeling about the Eldar.
If they're here to destroy the station? Then they'll almost certainly succeed even if we roll well on station defenses, because eldar ships are hard to hit and we'll be damaging the gas station just by attempting to reactivate those defenses.
I mean, sure, but the dark elves know that too, you know? It's part of why them staying the course after we make it clear they've been spotted is so unlikely. From their perspective, the instant that happens it's time to start throwing us off to grab what they can from something farther out of position from us (Denva), try to trick us in diplomacy while staying out of range of any hard power, or cut their losses and book it out of the system. If the reactors are turned back on when Drukari make contact the people inside can blow the whole thing. Incineration by plasma is a far far kinder fate than being a Drukari's slave. Also if they all die they cannot be interrogated which is good for us

Any course of action that exposes their entire expedition to annihilation via imperium style suicide play is unlikely, to say the least.
I just realized something.
This ship arrived through warp and thanks to slaanesh Eldar cannot into warp because nom nom nom.
So my question is how? Is this quirk of this quest or something else going on?
If I've understood correctly, the Eldar do use warp-jumps even in canon to get where the Webway can't. It entry/exit points are fixed after all, and the Webway has suffered significant decay since the Fall. Though only very short jumps and as rarely as they feasibly can.I just realized something.

Fair point. I'll drop the activation from my plan. How do I see which plan is winning, btw?I strongly disagree. We were just told that a critical success is the only thing that doesn't kill some of the engineers on the station, and we were just told it's a flat dice roll so that's only a 10% chance we're not shooting ourselves in the foot.
Our first priority should be de-escalating the situation, and crash reactivating the station defenses is now shown to be a massive liability to that priority.
The fighting chance we give them can come from us rushing the station, which we're already doing. Let's leave the station defenses be.
The QM description of rushing is that it limits their time to a couple hours. I don't see how you get from that to "no time to steal anything or get away". My understanding is if they raid and we rush, they will be able to get in and grab stuff and book it - but they'll have to be hasty about the grabbing. In almost most scenarios, us gunning for and hailing the eldar results in them aborting the raid of the gas station. Not even because they want to talk to us, but because we reveal that we know about them at all - at that point, they either talk, run, or change targets because it doesn't matter to them that we can't get there until they're inside the station, because we absolutely can get there before they leave with loot or hostages if we rush to the station.
I just checked the codex....Are you sure Eldar can't do warp travel? They get all over the galaxy, and not just in places with webway gates, so they must have some ability to do warp travel. Unless they have *another* method of FTL or something...

Thank you. Since it sadly seems my plan has no hope for victory, ill go ahead and got for yours. [x] Plan: Ware the Ancient Rush. Did that do it?At the top of every page is a dropdown named Thread Tools. Choose Vote Tally.
