Time of the Gods: Into the Amber Age

Yes, you have seen to that.

If you bring something up, the burden of proof lies with you.

Blindspots. The word your looking for is blindspots. That's not maturity and definitely not supportive of keeping the trait.

Yes I'm starting to see that the problem lies not with the facts but with, someone's perception of it.

After all, why would I think two people could push forth their own "pet project without the support of the rest of the voters including the Monster Faction. And Rashelki, clearly wasn't born through our experimentation of monsters. Accidents never happen, they are all just an illusion.

Yes, because Gaerig has shown heraelf to complete encyclopedic knowledge of everything at sea. Oh wait,

Yup definite proof of knowimg everything.

This is clearly a dump action, we already know everything that's in the sea, why would we ever need to take it?

Sorry but this is to dumb for me,
All it makes clear to me is that you clearly simple do not want Gaerig to experience any character development or Move beyond being a massive (wo-)man-Child at times
At the same time you refuse to acknowledge or reasonable answer arguements if you dislike them, which makes arguing with you rather tiresome
Therefore since I have better things to do and most issues will be resolved either way in a few updates, I would appreciate it if you would just give it a rest as I have no Desire to continue something like that

Well, I think once our son grows up and maxes that animal handling, we can make an Urbeast sea pixie for him to tame.

I kind of wanted to try a flying octopus. Though likely to escape pretty quickly.

I would suggest the creation of a faith based divine sea Pixie
With spirit of the sea and EM-Moon to help with any bLessings we make
Also due to the domesticated trait and the minor humanity it should be easier to control then our Frauma

Lol okay so your response is no proof and strawmanning
0/10, troll harder.
More.
Sky was one.
Moon traits are conditionally sky traits.
Night...maybe.
Stars probably.
Nox probably.

Since their original creature eats brittle stars...stars and sky should be nice?
Alternatively we could shapeshift into an owl and pass on owl aspect. T3 bird traits allow flight by themselves and are 4 Sustenance cheaper than choosing Sky trait.

I note rashelki's relatively low damage rate, as well as his super monster status. Your pantheon did pretty good dealing with her, but even on failed turns she never managed more than 10 or so VE. Ur-beasts only need so much energy a turn, they'll never collapse a society on their own.

@sidestory Don't underestimate the power of the monster faction.

I managed to win a vote once, and come very close to winning another, due to the monster faction.

I'm pretty sure half of you people would actually stab me if you met me, because you all seem to hate me so much.

And I still managed to get a ton of voters on my side due to having monsters.

The monster faction has continuously influenced veekie's plans as well.

Monster Faction Stronk.

Fishmen master race shall rule the tundra.

[X] Request free passage to pass through and trade within their lands unharmed for your pantheon and their worshippers, so long as the one doing so does no direct harm to them.

Since I have no true preference for the temple I'll abstain on that vote.

I'm generally in favor of making a god-child with Saiga. The question is what niche it should fill, or more precisely what traits it should be given. let's take a look at our existing pantheon.

Gaerig is a mystic, elementalist and semi-random (un)natural catastrophe.

Saiga is primarily an explorer and fighter with a secondary focus on crafting and innovation. As a side note, it is unfortunate that he lacks social and leadership skills and traits. That makes returning pantheon leadership to him a somewhat tricky idea.

Saitev is a mystic and fighter.

Attrouska is primarily a mystic. She has a strong secondary setup as a leader (high leadership combined with spirit of law and motherhood), but I don't think anyone in the pantheon would want her in charge again anytime soon. Additionally she had a secondary focus on fire-elemental stuff. There is some fertility based on motherhood and spirit of the land, but she doesn't really have the skill and trait capacity to develop that aspect much in the near future.

Keshketev is a crafter. He currently doesn't have the attributes to do much else, but with two classical affinities he has the potential to become an elemental heavyweight. Or maybe he will learn traits to support his leadership skill.

Now let's look at the ur-children.

Seski is guaranteed to ascend after her death, but it's hard to tell what sort of spirit she will become. There isn't really a strong theme apparent.

Ghette still has a long way to go to reach his ascension threshold, but he has the traits and skills to make enough legend for himself. Since he already has Nox Arcana he will go mystic/night, same as Gaerig. He will probably found a mortal shaman tradition.

Gaelte is very far away from ascension and might not make it on his own. He has a strong water-sea basis trait-wise. In regards to skills he seems to go towards fishing, leadership and animal handling.

Notably all of Gaerig's ur-children seem to have no interest in combat-related stuff.

Rashelki is very far from ascending and is of course an unholy mess of traits. If she manages to ascend, she will be a very strong fighter with a secondary social focus considering her awe, sing and dance skills.

Keshketev's sons, Norte and Morte are a bit hard to assess since we don't know their character sheets or their personality. They definitely have some elemental grounding in ice and are skilled crafters like their dad. If they ascend they might go in either direction or try and carve out another niche for themselves.

So, in what roles are free for an additional spirit/god?

- a social/trade themed spirit

Trade is currently covered by Saiga. Seski might grow into that role after ascension. Ghette is pushing trade, too, but he has already a lot of other stuff on his plate. We don't have the traits available to deliberately create a spirit to fill that void.

- an agriculture-themed spirit

Attrouska partially covers that job currently, but it's not her focus. We need to either find an existing spirit with the right portfolio or get shape-changer avatar, turn into a man and fuck Attrouska to use her Spirit of the Land as a basis. Considering our available traits it would lean somewhat towards a weather-spirit.

The Spring Maiden
8 Ambrosia for a nice baseline of 2 in every attribute

Lesser Spirit of the Land (+2 Farming, +2 Survival, Gain power over plants)
Elemental Manifestation – Light

Classical Element – Water
Elemental Affinity (Tier 3) – Sky
Focused Manifestation (Nox Arcana) - Yellow Moon

0 (2) Farming
0 (2) Survival

- a war-themed spirit

We have several fighters, but they are all lacking in War and Leadership, very important skills for larger-scale conflict. We have no way to directly create a fitting spirit, but we could make a hunting-themed one who would hopefully develop in the right direction.

The Clever Huntsman
Sired with 10 Ambrosia for Attributes and 2 specific traits each from Gaerig and Saiga

Faith 2
Avatar 3
Influence 2
Shrine 3

Survival 0 (6)
Melee 0 (5)
Trickery 0 (4)
Ranged 0 (3)
Fishing 0 (2)

Spirit of the Hunter (+2 Survival, +2 Melee, +3 Ranged, Gain a Strong bonus against spirits with inherent T2 or T3 animal aspects, Gain an automatic success against spirits with inherent T2 or T3 animal aspects)
Aspect of the Polar Bear (+3 Melee, +2 Survival, +2 Fishing, Can communicate with and command Bears, Reduce Wound Threshold of enemies by one degree)

Spirit of Mischief (+4 Trickery, +2 Survival, Common ability to mask or disguise Avatar (False Mortality), grants a small chance of escaping disadvantaged encounters)
Elemental Manifestation (Tier 2) – Darkness

- a fishing-centered spirit

Considering our climate and location the sea will always serve as a primary source of food and should have a dedicated spirit. Gaerig is mostly busy with other stuff and as a fear goddess not suited to consistent blessings anyway. Gaelte might suit, but he is decades away from ascension.

The Bountiful Sea
8 Ambrosia for a nice baseline of 2 in every attribute

Classical Element – Water
Focused Manifestation (Nox Arcana) - Yellow Moon
Focused Manifestation (Nox Arcana) – Blue Moon

Lesser Spirit of the Sea (+3 Fishing, +2 Navigation, +1 Trade)
Lesser Aspect of the Walrus (+2 Fishing, +2 Survival, +1 Awe Increased maximum sustenance)

0 (5) Fishing
0 (2) Navigation
0 (2) Survival
0 (1) Trade
0 (1) Awe

Thoughts?

That's valid certainly, but remember when we push an aspect we only push T1 of it at a time.

It's why Shapeshifter Avatar would go an enormous distance towards making monster production effective more than anything else.

Mostly I was thinking it'd spawn a brood with Spirit of Stars and that would have some interesting effects(plus Sea Pixies are already silvery)

Well, it's less their singlehandedly doing it and more that adding them to an Act of Gaerig can be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

That and the large Sustenance commitment to making particular beasties.

She apparently had a child every year ever since she got married. Two in one year sometimes, going by the progress she made on the Folk. She also has the Mischief skills and a Perform skill and instrument she invented.
Upon ascension I can see her picking up Spirit of Motherhood, and possibly music.
Ghette still has a long way to go to reach his ascension threshold, but he has the traits and skills to make enough legend for himself. Since he already has Nox Arcana he will go mystic/night, same as Gaerig. He will probably found a mortal shaman tradition.
Remember, he is also the one to discover formal healthcare recently through a vision. Medicine and Mystic goes well together I think.
Gaelte is very far away from ascension and might not make it on his own. He has a strong water-sea basis trait-wise. In regards to skills he seems to go towards fishing, leadership and animal handling.
We have a potential source of Legend for him, in that we could always breed a limited Ur-beast and let him tame them. It's a good legend source.

Rashelki is too badass though.
Next one.

On the godbaby plans I think the main barrier is requiring specific traits out of the partner. It's a tricky proposition considering how much sustenance it takes to choose a trait, we'd want to negotiate having a baby a year ahead, pay them the necessary ambrosia, THEN have the child next turn.

IIRC, the only reason we even can choose specific Traits is because we have the ability to alter our Avatar from Mischief.

Of course, we also have a mask that allows for that. Probably not the weirdest thing Gaerig's has pulled.

We could try to loan them the shapeshifting mask for the scene yeah...but that makes for some kinky sex.

Yeah, it's rather expensive at 9 Sustenance per trait, but kind of unavoidable if we want the child to have a coherent theme and be productive immediately. Heh, talk about exhausting sex. Fortunately Saiga has that walrus aspect that increases his maximum sustenance.

Really? I don't remember anything like that.

So I think we could all use a tally by now.

When seperated by line it looks like Water Temple and (boring but useful) Free Passage are winning solidly.

So much for a fear spirit

Do note that this allows to bring baby Essence Drinkers into their lands and "accidentally" losing them.

Yupp, that might actually be totally believable from a god with 0 trade.

Edit: If we are to actually ask for something "useful" I would have asked for info on entire pantheon... because I don't think Gaerig asking for some sort of "open borders - trade agreement" really fits her in my opinion.
Its not even a SHINY.

It's not even open borders. It's "oh yeah, our guys can wander around on your place untouched unless they actually try to kill someone".

This is the first encounter out of about three, and determines the nature of pantheon interactions.

Oh and since we're going exploring with Saiga and Saitev next turn for a plant spirit we can tromp all over their territory and they can't do shit :D

Of course that that does bring up the possibilty of them doing the same covertly.

We'll just have to be careful of any counter incursions.

Because my subjective opinion is that Water is meh.
