There is no emotion... (A Jedi Order Quest)

Kador and Breda step through the main doors, walking into the council chamber to receive their next assignment. The six of you are seated in that great circle, looking at the returned members of your order.

Breda bends the knee. "What is thy bidding, Master?"

Available Jedi:
Grandmaster Bao Dur
Councilor Atton Rand
Councilor Mira
Councilor Visas Marr
Councilor Brianna
Councilor Mical
Councilor Bastila Shan (C4 W4 S3 D3 V3 H3)
Councilor Juhani (C5 W3 S1 D3 V2 H5)
2 Padawans (All 1)

Assign Jedi to these Patrol Routes:

[] The Core: To be honest, this is likely the safest part of the Galaxy. You'd be surprised if anything more threatening than a few gangsters show up here anytime soon, and not very threatening ones either. Still, whatever does happen here, the entire galaxy knows about it, so if you just want to fly the flag, so to speak, this would be a good place for it.
([] Assign Jedi to patrol, needs 4 Vigilance)

[] The Mid-Rim: Wealthier than the Outer Rim, but without the commiserate military force, a surprising amount of Jedi patrols have always been focused here, being pirate bait and all. This is likely where combat, if it takes place, will take place. Sending some real muscle out here would be a wise plan.
([] Assign Jedi to patrol, needs 6 Vigilance)

[] The Outer Rim: A sparsely populated collection of agri worlds, you don't see too much trouble coming here, if it weren't for the Mandalorians. On the other hand, this is likely to be where the majority of your apprentices come from for the time being, so perhaps those more in tune with the Force would be a wise plan.
([] Assign Jedi to patrol, needs 2 Vigilance)
Working on a plan, but what is the H stat?

I believe this covers everything fairly well, and keeps Padawans with their existing masters. Bao Dur could be moved from Core to Mid-Rim if people feel that more Combat is worthwhile there, but I think I like the idea of exceeding minimum requirements for Core work. It also makes sense to put his Diplomacy to use in the Core.

[X] Plan Cover All The Bases
-[X] The Core (Needs 4 Vigilance):
Councilor Mira (Combat 3, Wisdom 4, Skill 4, Diplomacy 3, Vigilance 4), Grandmaster Bao Dur (Combat 5, Wisdom 3, Skill 4, Diplomacy 5 Vigilance 2). Total: Combat 8, Wisdom 7, Skill 8, Diplomacy 8, Vigilance 6.
-[X] The Mid-Rim (Needs 6 Vigilance, Combat Focused): Councilor Juhani (Combat 5, Wisdom 3, Skill 1, Diplomacy 3, Vigilance 2, H5), Councilor Visas Marr (Combat 5, Wisdom 3, Skill 3, Diplomacy 1, Vigilance 4), Councilor Atton Rand (Combat 4, Wisdom 3, Skill 3, Diplomacy 3, Vigilance 4), Padawan Kador. Total: Combat 15, Wisdom 10, Skill 8, Diplomacy 8, Vigilance 11.
-[X] The Outer Rim (Needs 2 Vigilance, Wisdom Focused):
Councilor Brianna (Combat 5, Wisdom 4, Skill 1, Diplomacy 4, Vigilance 1), Councilor Mical (Combat 3, Wisdom 5, Skill 2, Diplomacy 4, Vigilance 2), Councilor Bastila Shan (Combat 4, Wisdom 4, Skill 3, Diplomacy 3, Vigilance 3, H3), Padawan Breda. Total: Combat 13, Wisdom 14, Skill 7, Diplomacy 12, Vigilance 7.

Atris presented herself to you in those chaotic times after Meetra left all of you behind to discover what had come onto Revan-- and you had exiled her, to learn the same lessons as Meetra once had; and perhaps, to learn the same lessons.
But did we learn the lesson in the end? :V

Unassigned Jedi would automatically stay at Dantooine, so feel free to just not assign people if you want somebody to stay behind.

If you wanted to keep some people at Dantooine and still have them be useful, I'd suggest Mical and/or Mira. Mical would be able to do useful research being our unofficial archivist, and Mira would be the best to effectively investigate where artifacts are disappearing to. Both missions they're on in the base plan can probably spare them, but of course we'll probably get more success with them deployed than we would without.

Neither are combat specialists, but we don't really expect a serious attack on Dantooine right now. Presumably we have non-force user security staff, too.

Come to think of it, maybe we should look into getting something like the Antarian Rangers founded early? Highly trained support staff recruited from places like the Republic Special Forces and Diplomatic Corp could be an especially big help with the Order so small and spread thin, supporting lone Jedi, protecting enclaves, and serving where Jedi aren't available or when they need to move on once a crisis is past but before all the work is truly done. They could also help train initiates and padawans in important non-force skills, supplementing their educations and improving stats a bit.

@Voikirium, perhaps it would make a good PP option?

Mission Report (Q1, 3949 BBY)
Mission Report (Q1, 3949)

Mission 1 (Bao-Dur and Mira, The Core)

We're receiving a distress call from the Dexterity, one of those new-type Hammerheads; it's supposed to be faster and more heavily armed, so that what happened in the Battle of Dxun can't happen again.

The distress call hasn't mentioned any specifics, but from the garbled transmission, I would say it involves some serious radiation-- three guesses where you're going to find that in the sort of quantities needed to mess with these new comm systems, and the first two don't count.
--
Mission 2 (Juhani, Atton Rand, Visas Marr, and Kador, The Mid-Rim)
For the past seven years, the wookiees have led a rebellion against Czerka and other outsiders and slavers. The Wookiees haven't won because they are technically outmatched by Czerka, and outgunned as well. Czerka can't win because the Wookiees are a stubborn bunch, and refuse to kneel to slavers again.

The Republic has not managed to decisively intervened and solve it from the outside due to a startling ignorance of the facts on the ground-- and they can't arbitrate because the wookiees have told nearly every kind of outsider to take a long walk out the airlock.

For some strange reason, though, they do trust the Jedi. More importantly, they trust Bastila and Juhani, who fought with Revan when he exposed Czerka's evil. They have agreed to allow the Republic to send a fact finding mission, as long as the party they send consists only of Jedi. We're on our way.
--
Mission 3 (Brianna, Bastila, Mical, Breda, Outer Rim)
Something is out here. I could not see it at first, so dim was its light; but now every moment I close my eyes all I can see is it. A place of learning, of knowledge, a fluttering candle in the dark-- but still, so all the dark in the universe could not have smothered it. The others are trying to interrogate people for its location, but I do not think any will know. I think it will be found only in one way, and no other.

For now, I navigate through the Force.
--
Mission 1 (Bao-Dur and Mira, The Core)
Never would have thought a Jedi would be performing tech support--

We located the Dexterity in the Ord Vantal System, slamming into a good sized asteroid, slowly speeding towards the system's star. Seems something messed with the navicomputer and the sublight engines-- they've spent the past day on a one-way trip into the heart of a star. It was an easy enough fix, though, with Mira's help; she fiddled with the engine controls on the bridge, even as I was trying to regain control of the navicomputer through a pretty nasty virus.

We managed to fix it with about an hour left before the Dexterity was irrevocably trapped in the star's gravity well. But something's not right-- I'd swear, this reminds me of something, but I can't quite put--

Wait.
--
Mission 2 (Juhani, Atton Rand, Visas, and Kador, Mid-Rim)
Well, we've made planet fall. The Czerka mercs and the wookiees are both trying to get us on side-- and by us, I mean everybody besides me. I, on the other hand, am currently stowed away on one of the Czerka shuttles; you know, just had to see what wasn't on the guided tour.

I'll have about a day before everybody else gets back-- let's see if I can't find some stuff they wouldn't want me to see.
--
Mission 3 (Mical, Bastila, Brianna, Breda, The Outer Rim)
More visions! Many Jedi, all gathered in one place. Wherever we're going, whatever we're looking for, this station was a place of power. I sense many Jedi once walked its halls; they gathered here, looking for...something.
--
Mission 1 (Bao-Dur and Mira, The Core)
Czerka. Of course it was Czerka. After the Sith ran away, and took all those lucrative contracts with them, their profits have been tanking. Rather than try and compete fairly, they wanted to make Rendili look bad by making their new ship design destroy itself, and kill a few hundred people in the process. Fortunately for us all, Czerka's right hand always forgets what the left has done-- back on Telos, they used a similar virus to try and sabotage the Ithorian's efforts, and I managed to beat it then, though I could never prove.

Unfortunately, there's no strong proof of it-- only the Force screaming in my ear-- so officially, the cause is still sabotage by an unknown agent, likely Sith. Unofficially, I expect the Republic will be asking some very pointed question; and if I were the involved Czerka officials, I'd start sleeping with one eye wide open, if I slept at all.

On a lighter note, we also found another Force Sensitive-- a Rodian, traveling on the Dexterity as an engineer. He isn't the strongest, no, but it does flow through him-- and a Jedi is more than raw power.

Mission 2 (Juhani, Atton Rand, Visas, and Kador, Mid-Rim)
I'll give Czerka this-- they and the Sith were a match made in hell. I looked around, after we landed, and found some sort of secret Czerka lab-- it must have been at least three floors deep. I only managed to make it through the first floor-- I've attached images of what I found there.

I wouldn't look while you're eating.

In any case, they were experimenting on the Wookiees. Permanent adrenal fixtures, non-consentual cyborgification, and things I couldn't even begin to describe. I managed to convince the Wookiees to trust me-- the robes helped-- and then I bust them out of their cages, or freed them from their experimentation tables.

And it's a good thing I did, because not five minutes later, an army of Czerka mercs bust through the door to cleanse all the evidence.

Have you ever seen an angry wookiee in a fight? Because let me tell you-- if it was anybody else, I might have felt bad about what happened.

After that, the rest arrived-- suffice to say, the Czerka Rep was surprised to see the lab still as it was.

I expect there will be some real questions, real quick.

Oh, and Juhani seems to have made a friend-- she's been stuck in conversation with one of the Wookiees, trying to keep him from ripping the Czerka rep's head from his shoulder. Couldn't be me.

Mission 3 (Mical, Bastila, Brianna, Breda, The Outer Rim)
We have found what we were searching for-- Exis Station. Having been stuck in Sith Space for so long, the exact coordinates to the station were lost for some time; as well, of course, there was the problem with determining exactly which station in the Teedio system was the Exis Station.

In any case, we entered not knowing what to expect-- but I don't think any of us thought it would be someone throwing themself at Brianna's feet, asking her to kill them.

After she made it clear that she would not be doing that, he told us all his story-- he was an adventurer, who entered Exis Station seeking to plunder ancient artifacts; but instead something in the Force twitched, and he was enlightened. He saw his evils, his failures, his deceptions, thrown into the light of day-- no lies to shield him, no darkness in which to hide-- only the uncompromising light of truth. Legends speak of such things being performed by ancient Jedi, but I do not know who would do such a thing here.

All he claimed to see was a dark woman, and then the painful truth.

Brianna has promised to teach him to become a Jedi, to overcome this thing; meanwhile, the rest of us are searching for artifacts. We have already found one of no little worth-- the Holocron of Master Arca Jeth.

@Voikirium - That was enjoyable!

A request; sometimes it isn't at all clear who is writing the entry. Maybe put their name under the mission header?

Mission Report 3949 Q2
Mission Report (3949BBY, Q2)

Mission 1 (Bao-Dur, Mira, and 1 Initiate, the Core)

-Master Bao-Dur-
We've received reports of ships disappearing in space, near the edge of the Deep Core. Normally I'd think it was just the Hutts and the Exchange having at it, but these are next to worthless on the black market-- it's bulk grains, food staples, that sort of thing. They're headed to Telos, but on one of their stop-offs their freighters are disappearing. Independent captains are beginning to refuse to go, and if they don't then Telos dies.

After everything, I am not going to let that happen. Even if I have to kill another army of assassin droids.
--
Mission Report 2 (Juhani, Visas Marr, Atton Rand, Kador, and 1 Initiate Mid-Rim)
-Master Juhani-
After the revelations from last month, the Senate has told Czerka to leave Kashyyyk, unless and until the Wookiees welcome them back-- I have my doubts we shall see such a thing any time soon.

The Wookiees have requested we escort their new Senator to his post on Coruscant-- they are somewhat frightened that Czerka may arrange to kill him, as revenge for the Wookiee's deeds. It would be a foolish thing to do, I think-- but not altogether beneath them to try.

So now we are traveling on a diplomatic shuttle. Personally, I would have preferred one of the new Hammerheads and its contingent of marines, but I can deal with this, I think.
--
Mission 3 (Mical, Bastila, Brianna, Breda, and 1 Initiate, The Outer Rim)
-Master Mical-
We've lain out a number of salvage beacons and alerted Republic forces near the area of the station's significance, but we must leave Exis Station for now-- for any number of reasons, the most pressing of which being the distress signal we recently received a distress call from the small world of Altooine.

We heard blaster fire, and of course the nearest Republic reinforcements are weeks away-- so it looks like it's up to us.
--
Mission 1 (Bao-Dur, Mira, and 1 Initiate, the Core)
We finally arrived at the way station. It's in orbit around the planet Tojora, a planet only good for a gravity well-- it's surface is clouded by an impenetrable storm, but it was positioned in a good spot to build a space station.

Or at least, that was the case, according to the charts from about fifty years ago. Because I'm looking down now-- and what I'm looking at seems like a pretty normal temperate planet. But I can already sense the Force in this place. It's...calm.

I think I know what happened.
--
Mission 2 (Juhani, Visas Marr, Atton Rand, Kador, and 1 Initiate, Mid-Rim)
Things have been mostly calm.

There was an incident-- it seems Czerka managed to bribe a few of the technicians on board to try and take out the Senator.

Then they saw that I was a Jedi. And Atton was, too. And Visas. And Kador. And the other two are wookiees.

After that, they made the wise decision and surrendered and confessed. The captain is pumping them for information as we speak; I expect we will know some very interesting things by the time we reach Coruscant and present our full report.
--
Mission 3 (Mical, Bastila, Brianna, Breda, and 1 Initiate, The Outer Rim)
Altooine was a part of Revan's empire-- it had a training academy for Sith Troopers; and that seems to be part of the problem. It is a little like Dantooine, really-- the troopers have gone mercenary, and are currently being paid by Ghost Star-- a minor, wannabe Crime Lord-- to shake down local settlements. For some strange reason, the local commander does not seem to want to help deal with the issue.

So it is, as usual, up to us to save the galaxy.

They outnumber us ten-to-one; but we have the Force on our side, and they do not.
--
Mission 1 (Bao-Dur, Mira, and 1 Initiate, the Core)
The Light Side is strong here, incredibly so-- it feels like the gentle warmth of a summer day, the calm cool rain which washes away the dirt of yesterday and leaves open the soil for tomorrow, like life as it should be.

This feeling caused the curious freighter captains to become overwhelmed, and lose track of time. When I told them it had been a month, they all very quickly moved to leave-- they should arrive at Telos only a little late.

If, and when, we begin building our own enclaves, I would suggest this place.
(+30 PP, Discover Tojora--may be colonized)
--
Mission 2 (Juhani, Visas Marr, Atton Rand, Kador, and 1 Initiate, Mid-Rim)
We have arrived at Coruscant, none the worse for wear-- Vyndaar should be well capable of taking up his new position.

As to the assassins, Czerka has just barely managed to weasel out of immediate trouble-- it was done through the intermediary of a "retired" exec, who was, of course, motivated by the death of his protege to seek revenge-- ignoring, of course, that they spoke maybe twice. Nobody is buying it at this point, but the Senators Czerka's blackmailed, pressured, or outright bought have managed to...not stop it, exactly, but slow down the wheels of justice.

Still, I would be shocked if Czerka is still here five years from now, and not dismantled by the Republic.
(+15PP)
--
Mission 3 (Mical, Bastila, Brianna, Breda, and 1 Initiate, The Outer Rim)
They were many, and we were few.

We won. They came in their many, and we struck them down. The fighting was hard-- these troopers have lost whatever edge they once had, but they outnumbered us ten to one. We were injured-- and I expect I will be limping for the time being; but. But. We walked away. And they didn't.

We captured Ghost Star-- he's currently in an Altooine jail cell, waiting to be picked up by the Republic.

The Admirals were quite interested to hear of Commander Nordo's apathy-- and very thankful that we picked up the slack.

3949 Q2 Research
You have gathered much knowledge, learned much from the Holocron of Arca Jeth-- you can advance in leaps and bounds, this year, much more than last, with the knowledge that Bastila and Juhani can offer to you.

You are still much less than you once were-- but you can become more.

100 Knowledge->20 Points of Research, to be distributed as desired.

Training Doctrines- The methods by which you train new Jedi-- how and to what purpose. (These are mutually exclusive)
Many Students, One Teacher (0/5)- There aren't enough of you for you to teach only one student each. For the moment, at least, you need to be training multiples. (Bonus to recruitment Quantity)
One Student, One Teacher (2/5)- One Master, one Padawan. One to offer wisdom, the other to seek it. (Bonus to stats for new student)

Combat- While a Jedi's first recourse should be words, this is a dangerous galaxy-- the capacity to defend yourself is vital.
Force Combat I (0/5)- The Force is not a weapon, but it may be used in the defense of yourself and of others. (Jedi Consulars may use Wisdom bonus in Combat checks against mundane opponents)
Form 7 (0/10)- While only the most martial Jedi could hope to use it, Juyo is one of the more useful combat forms-- if, perhaps, dangerous. (Bonus to Combat for Guardians, Weaponmasters)

Infrastructure- Recruitment, lost or abandoned Temple Worlds such as Ossus or Jedha, and other miscellany representing your Order's most important resources.
Recruitment (4/5)- The most basic forms of detection of Force sensitivity-- Force Sight, the few holocrons you have left, etc. (gain consistent recruitment stream)
Ossus (0/15)- Examine the world of Ossus, determine if it is now safe for habitation, and reclaim the Temple. (Open Ossus to Expansion)

[ ] Plan Low Hanging Fruit and Ossus
-One Student, One Teacher (2/5) +3
-Force Combat I (0/5) +5
-Form 7 (0/10) +10
-Recruitment (4/5) +1
-Ossus (0/15) +1

All the basic ones and the rest into infrastructure. We need to grow, not give a combat boost to our two or three Guardians.

Serious research windfall, four techs can be completed this turn.

Edit: Dantooine is currently 10/20 full. It will take at least two research turns to open Ossus to development unless we focus on it to the exclusion of everything else, after which we need to actually develop it on the third one looks like. We are currently on year 2. Dantooine is also (289/300) but while that might increase its capacity by an unknown number it also might not if we, say, choose to specialize it or something, and another enclave could give valuable bonuses even outside of raising our population limit. We just don't know. I would prefer to find out more than I want to give a boost to our very few Guardians.

Edit2: Training Doctrines are exclusive freeing up 5 points. This along with the 6 points in Ossus means 11 free-ish points, enough to get Form 7.

I can get behind this. Ossus is awesome and reopening it should be a huge windfall to reclaiming some of the lost history of the Jedi, especially if we're able to rescue/recruit Ood Bnar from his tree-sleep. Once we have a better grasp of things, I'd also love to check out Yavin, which has lots and lots and lots of history and goodies for us to discover...

I think the two training doctrines are mutually exclusive, although I could be wrong.
