On a more serious note, if Skye has to flee Menagerie as the result of a coup or assassins I'd be willing to bet that Guidantonio would offer her a place in his company.

The Coronation 2-3-9 (End of Chaw Civil War)
Two days after the siege ended, you stand in the great hall of the Buhaw Castle. The smell of smoke still clings to the hall, the signs of battle still evident despite the cleaning you had organized.

All the Knights were in attendance. Knightess Ritsuko, her eyes covered by a veil, sat next to Daneda, whispering something in her strange Mistrial tongue. Cilmi sat apart, under an "honor" guard and seemed rather put off. Jove was next to you, looking relieved that the war was over. Deacon Sullivan stood on the dais, the Iron Crown in his hands, serving as the religious head for this ceremony. The rest of the hall was filled with the renowned members of three armies and your council. After all, it would not be proper to have an empty hall for a coronation.

The trumpets pull your attention to the fore. It's time.

Alric Asad, King-To-Be, appeared from the doorway, clad in ceremonial armor, a crimson cape trailing behind him. To everyone else in the room, his appearance was a clear message of the path his rule would take. To you, however, you could see carefully hidden signs that every step pained him. If there was one thing you could say about the old man, his willpower was insane.

Alric walked with purpose, the pain not stalling his strides as he walked towards the throne-dais. He knelt before Sullivan, signaling the beginning of the ritual.

"Alric Asad, The Undying, The Sword of Chaw, Taskmaster, Slayer of Foes and Grimm. The Nameless One has placed His blessing upon you. Will you accept the right to protect the people of Chaw, to lead them in righteous and mercy, so help you Dust?"

"So help me Dust." Alric answers.

"By the powers invested in me by the Synod of Menagerie," Sullivan anointed as he placed the crown upon Alric's head, "I proclaim you the 59th King of Chaw. By the wisdom of the Nameless One, stand, King Alric Asad, and lead your people."

Gain: 75 Prestige from War Contribution, King Alric Asad Relationship Improved (6/10), Minor Title gained: "Kingmaker", Kingdom of Chaw Morale Improved, Liege Gained: King Alric Asad.

Post-War Shenanigans: 30
30 for 30

The revelry lasted long into the night, the tension of war and the worries of a leaderless kingdom banished by new hope. The sun had long vanished from the sky, and all the shards of the moon looked upon Remnant when you were summoned out of your temporary quarters by Alric. King Alric. Remember that. You mentally remind yourself.

You are escorted to the King's study, where you find the new King pouring over various documents and letters. "If I had any suspicions of you," Alric said as the door closed, "They died completely." The King turned, holding two letters out towards you. Taking it, you read the contents.

I have heard much of your marital skill, as well as your Ambition, Atlas. The ability for a Huntsman, the servant, to become noble is almost non-existent. The nobility is unable to accept a Huntsman, a servant, as their king. I aim to change that perception. In the town of Akinidad, you will find a graveyard. Look for the pauper's grave in the fifth row. There you shall find my support for your ambitions.

I shall be in touch.
G

With the letter in your hands, you could see that the signature looked to be that of a signet ring's. Still, that didn't give you many leads, as many nobles used the first letter of their name as their signature. Marking this in your mind, you read the second letter.

By opening the grave, you have agreed to my plot. The mangled corpse you see within the grave is Rigard Sand. You will claim his identity but not until the first phase is done. The bag upon his body contains a quantity of Lien, a list of contacts that will aid you in the quest, and a square of parchment.

You will take this parchment to Castle Buhaw, channel your Aura into the marked corner, and drop it into the well. Do not activate the secret until you drop it into the well, unless you wish to suffer a more painful version of the plague which ravages the world.

Do this, and you will be able to claim Castle Buhaw and Chaw for your own. I will send an army to assist you in these matters. Do not disappoint me.
G

"So, Lord Guidantonio wasn't making things up. Before the coronation, I found out that someone with the signature of G had hired his men. It seems G payed highly for their services."

"Well, now I have something to look out for." The King settled back in his chair, thinking. "For now, I will need to focus on domestic matters. I cannot have more of our people fall to the plague, and the lack of trade will bleed this Kingdom dry. Once that is resolved, then I can look outwards."

The King looked at you. "I have made promises to you, Lady Skye, and I will keep them. I will prefer your House, as I agreed to, and you will find my support if it is needed. However, there is more that needs to be done. Without your assistance, I would not have claimed the throne so quickly. Thus, I give you two requests. Ask something of me, and if it is within my power to give, I will do so."

He pauses, giving you time to think and state your requests. Asking for Lien would be an understandable request, but there is much more you could ask for. A position in his council, access to Port Buhaw for trading, and other less tangible assets would be within your reach. As you think, you realize there is a lot more that you could ask for, but what?

CHOOSE ONE OF EACH.
Request 1:
[] Write-In.
[] Save The Favor for Later.

Request 2:

That could could do. There would be some legal precedent for such things, as he did fight against Alrich during the civil war. However, since Alrich wasn't the king at the time, there is quite a bit of weirdness. You could go for the safer bet and ask for one of Cilmi's Holdings, if you want to experience the strangeness that is Holdings in non-owned provinces. (As a side note, the current liege laws prevent vassals from warring with each other.)

Edit: You could go right ahead and ask for Cilmi's lands, or even make him a Vassal (though he would likely need to be demoted first).

Maskax, Cilmi's province, doesn't border Yeqerta though. So I suppose that would make ruling it a bit harder. On the other hand, the lands would be our own, we wouldn't be ruling them as regent for our brother, if that makes a difference.

The positions that you are eligible for are: Counciler, Marshal, Steward and Spymaster. These positions give salary and prestige, but they would automatically take up one of the actions for their associated stat when the liege issues an order.

And not exactly Favors, PoW. More like favors. He won't increase his tyranny score for you, but he is generous with his rewards. This might be the "favoring" bit he was talking about.

How much Lien are we talking about per turn?

My current idea for one of the favors is either asking to become the Marshal ourselves, or asking to have Jove become the Steward.

It would be 1.8 Lien a turn, with the same amount of prestige. It would, however, give you more things that I won't explain just yet.

[X] ask for the traitor cilmi's holdings

[X] Ask to be Marshal

I though about marrying one of the King's children to our own, but given his age they are probably far to old.

If we decide to become one of Alrich's advisors then Marshal is the obvious one, not just because of our stats but because of our performance in the campaign which saw Alrich crowned. My question is, is the lost Martial action worth it? @Raiu Is the Martial action in question lost for good or is it spent on a Kingdom-wide action rather than just affecting Yeqerta?

Yeah, I'm leaning to ask to be Martial, although I don't know if we should use one of our favors for that. If we phrase it like we would like to be Martial without asking for the spot, it saves a favor and could still get us the potion. (key word: could)

Do Councillors get to vote on law changes and so on like in CK2? If so, becoming Marshal is a good idea. On the other hand, with our high martial stat he might ask us to become marshal on his own, though we might not want to leave it up to chance.

I love it when my readers use their brain. The martial action isn't lost for good. In effect, Alrich will be the one choosing the marital action. This can range from staying on hand, to training troops, to basically anything you can order a marshal to do. You just dont get to control it.

Asking for Cilmi's holdings might not be a very good idea. It will make us seem very power-hungry, essentially asking to have rulership over two whole provinces. Especially since we're not even the owner(yet) of our own family's holdings. It would be better IMO for the holdings to be split between all the neighbouring Knights, if Cilmi's being removed.

@Jakobstj Considering that we treated Cilmi in a civil manner which we've been told should make us look merciful, would it be to our advantage to just leave him where he is?

*Hums innocently, pulling out a highlighter.*

@Raiu If our brother recovers from the Plague and is reinstated as ruler of Ravenswood Keep so we are no longer the Regent, can we still hold the position of Alrich's Marshal?

In that case, you would indeed hold the position of Alrich's Marshal, even if you would just be a courtier at that point. Normally, if we were running this strictly by CK2 standards, you couldn't do that, but you have an interesting story developing.
