War has come to Chaw, and two rival armies have risen to claim the throne. In truth, you were lucky to get as long to prepare as you did. Now, with the messenger who gave you the news still in the council chamber, you have to decide what to do. Time is of the essence, and the sooner you can decide, the better position you would be in when the fighting starts.
WAR PLANS
You were patient, letting the other Knights take the lead. Now there are two armies marching, only one of whom that you have any agreement with. There are two ways that you can handle this: fighting defensively by focusing on your own lands or marching out to directly influence the war.
Strategy (Choose 1)
[] Fight Defensively: Staying within your own lands and keeping Cilmi's army away is a safe strategy, but you would be giving up the chance to influence who the future king would be. It would also put you in a strong position post-war with an untouched army.
[] March Out: Leaving your lands and heading towards Buhaw would be dangerous and time consuming, but it would put you in a strong position to choose the future King.
Army (Choose 1)
[] Use only your Retinue: Against a larger army on an open battlefield, your men would be extremely hard pressed to pull out a victory. However, it would cost less and your men are experienced, giving you a much faster force.
[] Call up the Levy: Quantity is a quality of it's own, and if you called up the levy you will have an army of significant size. Wars in Remnant are short, so you should not have them up for more than a few weeks, so you shouldn't need to worry too much about Lien.
Ruler Choice (Choose 1)
[] Support Alric Asad: You already have a guarantee of resources if Alric wins the war. While you do only have a non-aggression pact with the Asads, there is nothing saying you cannot support their claim.
[] Support Cilmi Of Donna: Cilmi, a naturally bookish ruler, does not seem the type to go to war. Nonetheless, he is one of the major contenders for the throne and throwing your lot in with him would be a good way to ingratiate yourself to him. (Alrich would consider this a breech of pact.)
[] Support Ritsuko Matsu: You do not know if Ritsuko aims for the throne, but telling her that you would support her claim may spur her into action. You don't know much about the woman, but if you can push her to become Queen, it would be a powerful position to be in.
[] Support Yourself: What's the fun of being a noble if you can't become an even greater noble? Your Dynasty would be very strong if you became Queen, and you wouldn't need to worry about the whims of another. (Requires March Out, requires any option but Stay at Ravenswood Castle. Backstab options become available.)
Skye Choice:
[] Stay at Ravenswood Castle: You are the last functioning member of your Dynasty remaining, and your child is growing within you (Dust, the thought freaks me out.) It would be irresponsible to go run off to war when it's possible for you to command your armies from here. It would be slow and difficult to manage given the distance that messages would be sent and received at, but you could do it.
[] Join Your Army As A Commander: Even in an army, the rear lines typically are a safe place to be and you would be able to easily direct your men without needing to send messages hours or days after they had been written. You would be able to keep yourself and your Dynasty safe from the rear lines.
[] Join Your Army At The front: You are a duelist at heart, and leading your men from the front is a brave and inspiring thing to do. You would need to take great care to make sure you aren't injured again. It's dangerous, but effective.
