I imagine any outfit with a skirt will include shorts under them like a cheerleader's, it's the default for my mental image at least.
If so I'd expect Taylor to either have noted them, or someone to assure her of that fact.

It depends on how many other fifteen year old girls he's seen in the wild while he's out and about.
I suppose. I don't think it fits, but I'll grant I may be letting my personal dislike confuse the issue.
Though in hindsight I'm really starting to regret having her shoved in a different locker. this is really confusing people... myself and my editor included.
:) Might want to sprinkle some date references in the story to help remind people.

and the skirt is probably going to get lengthen a couple of inches at least by Taylor's request.
That works. I would have thought she'd ask about it being lengthened before agreeing, but that is because of how I approach contracts.
... How has that thought not crossed my mind before now?
Given the point about spreading panic I hope they have a very cerful discussion about mythology and associations before adding anything fox-like to Taylor's costume. On the other hand avoiding anything fox like could make it look like Taylor's trying (and failing) to hide the connection.

.... Tamamo no Mae is one of the Three greatest Youkai in Japanese Mythology. She's basically the embodiment of evil. Fate's interpretation is as far off the mark as its interpretation of King Arthur or Emperor Nero.
:)
People mistaking modern pop culture interpretation of ancient stories as the original is often funny.

Like Canary without the mind control and Simurgh references?
With the Kitsune imagery she has the mind control references already, given the dates I think this is before the fiasco with Canary

Youd be suprised. In many ways, the clothes do indeed make the man, er goddess.
Even more so given that in the story it's mentioned that Taylor's powers will develop (in part) according to how people perceive her.

Granted I don't know if this is her self-image issues or her divine senses picking out the (too small for mortal ears to pick up on) flaws.
Could just be her having perfect pitch. Some (very few people) have hearing good enough they can spot the errors 99%+ of professional musicians and singers make. I was assuming a combination of that and taylor lack of confidance would lead to her perception of her singing.

I think the thing that weirds me the most is Taylor having barely any ability to choose her look, choosing from 4 uniforms to decide the look of the rest of your Cape life is a bit ridiculous to me. The outfits themselves I dont care about, its having no say in the design process.
They do repeatedly say that this is just a draft and if she doesn't like any of them they'll go back to the drawing board, it'll just be longer til she can go out as a cape.
Or how about Senko-chan? Despite it's somewhat...suspect undertones, it's still an adorably adorable feel good Anime and I challenge anyone to argue that Senko is anything but a hero. She might not fight monsters, but you dont need friendship lasers to save the day.

Then again, I suspect that a shrine maiden outfit would be rather hard to fight in and Shiros outfit....eh, not likely. No way Taylor would go for that.
Paintbrush agrees, shrine maiden outfits are not for fighting, no matter HOW hard Good doG begs!

If so I'd expect Taylor to either have noted them, or someone to assure her of that fact.
Unless Taylor went over and lifted the skirt they might have been too short to be seen under it, and nobody thought to point it out when she didn't question it. Hopefully when she gets the real thing someone points them out.
Generally seifuku style MG outfits are more similar to a figure skating outfit. At least thinking of it this way helps my sanity.

This means that they are designed with a leotard base with a skirt on top. This make the skirt lifting while jumping/flying a bit less sketchy.
That's fine in general, but for Taylor's comfort her tails either go on top of the skirt / shorts combo, or under the skirt and over the shorts. Putting on a leotard with 9 tails bigger than her torso would be difficult.

Since there are people who want the kimono so bad, why not have a fancy dress kimono made for when Taylor has to be in fancy dress clothing mode? Keep the Star Fox Goddess for work, the kimono for parties.

Even if something say.... the Undersiders attack a gala to figuratively swing their superpower peens around for clot, it's not like goddess Taylor can't fight at all after all.

I cast hurricane would stop a good number of capes.

Because from an image/PR POV looking like you're trying (and failing) to hide the Kitsune connection is worse than flaunting it.

Once Taylor is an established hero if some outside group with no connection to the PRT publicly gifts her with a Kimono or something of the sort it may be appropriate for Taylor to wear that, but she needs to be established first.

"They told me there was a Dragon in this city... When do I get to stab the Dragon!?"
Fuck now I'm shipping Trident and Dragon. An AI and a Magic AI thing......The Ultimate love story for the ages. What? What do you mean Colin is still Relevant? The Trident wpuld duel Colin for Dragon for he does not deserve such Artifice.

" CLOCKBLOCKER?! WHY THE FUCK IS MY TRIDENT TRYING TO WOO DRAGON ON PHO ONLINE?! "

" I SHALL STAB AND SHOCK THE DRAGONSLAYERS TO PROVE MY LOVE! "

" INARI! "

" All According to Keikaku. "

Hmm, this was quite the tasty serving of Peaches you gave us. Seriously, this update was fun, funny and just fantastic. Although, even after reading through all the posts after the update, I still can't quite see what started the AI Trident movement... Just that it DID start, and is still picking up steam... don't derail us with that please?

"That didn't go anywhere," She sighed.

"Are you sure?" Inari asked. Her voice was tinged with amusement as she stared up into the sky.

Slowly Taylor looked back up. She blinked. Did the sky seem a bit cl- With a rumble of displaced air, everything disappeared in a blanket of wet fog. Taylor blinked. "Um…" She said into the empty whiteness that had replaced the yard.
*died*
As Taylor left the mattress Inari abrupt disappeared through the cloud with a startled yelp. "TAYLOR!"
That should be "abruptly"
Ah, so it requires contact with her to keep the cloud solid. I wonder why it didn't work for other people, since Inari isn't apparently counted as part of her (own power?)...
"Goddess" is its own confusing set of "Why doesn't it work this way"...
"Probably for the best. The machine doesn't need a laser cannon."

"Once. Once," Kid groaned to the snickering of the rest.
I want to hear this story sometime. :D
As he started singing 'Ring of Fire' By Johnny Cash
lowercase the "by"
Chief amongst them was when Clockblocker managed to steal the mic long enough to sing 'I'm too sexy'. Taylor was very thankful that it only took a single tail to completely block out her sight. Somethings should not be allowed.
Some things.
Also, my eyes burn, and I'm only reading about it!
"I've never seen this poster LookingForWielder on PHO before. I wonder what that 'Verified Trident' custom title is supposed to mean?"
Snerk. Oh please yes.
Also... TAYLOR!
STICK TO YOUR DAMNED GUNS!
YOU DON'T LIKE FRILLY ANIME CRAP!
*sighs* at least it's not pink, right?

I mean really. Just once?
Is it so hard? Nutshot Glen's Pride.
*thunking headdesk*
Just once is all I ask.
I really have to agree. I would have figured on the Greek one, but rule of funny says it has to be the really awkward one that you'll regret the rest of your life.
As an aside, I wonder how she will look back on this when she admits/realizes that she's not a parahuman, and was an actual deity that went parading about in a miniskirt? I bet her face actually catches fire...
it's the Star Guardian Ahri outfit.

So, yes. Very much yes.

That's informative and also scary. Or creepy? I can indeed see Glenn doing that, though!
... How has that thought not crossed my mind before now?
I'm thinking a snarling (or yawning; they look similar :p) fox face surrounded by a circle of flames emanating from the fur on the back of its neck, like a mane. In a fiery gold/bronze color, of course.

OK, I don't play the Game she is from, but isn't Ahri a Kumiho? Aren't those the exact foxes you'd want to avoid? So why would any Kitsune willingly put something on that might even be tangentially connected to them, even if it is only through another dimensions gaming pop-culture?
Edit:
Because, if that game does in any form exist in Bet or Aleph, there will be at least one set of Villains that would recognize it and cause trouble. (Uber and L33t anyone?)

Just because Lung and Kaiser are trying to claim culture for themselves with their existences doesn't mean they get to own 'insert culture here'. Same for any villain, no matter no dangerous or irritating they are. Looking at you, Damsel of Distress.
