Care of Magical Creatures
Divination
Muggle Studies

hmmm i wounder if it has any magical effects we can exploit

Care of Magical Creatures
Divination
Muggle Studies

well divination would be useful for us if we can get it to actually work

Enchanting requires them. Also curse breaking

For this quest I'm going to be using it and charms as the base for enchanting. Not canon, but then canon didn't really go into detail how one created enchanted items, like broomsticks, dark detectors, multi-compartment trunks, etc.

I don't suppose we bought the books for divination and runes in diagonal alley?

--[X] See if they want to start a study group together...we know some unique tricks, Hermione's a talented academic, and Neville has lots of practical experience...and, more importantly, we're all motivated to actually learn magic, not just play around all day.

I'm not fully caught up yet, so I'm not sure if we've already brought this kind of thing up. I'm also not sure if additional write-in components like this are allowed.

Let me know if either is an issue.

That said, I think these two are our best start for an "inner circle," if you want to call it that. They're our housemates, and, as I'm suggesting we mention, they're strongly motivated. Most of our housemates, although good natured, seem to be your typical kids. They don't really have the drive to stick with it, or the breadth of vision to see how potentially potent Magic can be...and what that can mean for themselves, and everyone else.

So let's start with the two we know have their heads on straight in Gryffindor, then we can look into bringing in Susan and Hannah. After that, we'll look into Ravenclaw and Slytherin...the first has a tendency towards elitism, while the latter...well, it'll take some effort to polish the grime off any diamonds we find in there. That said, they probably have plenty of potential, if you can get them to realize that a bloodline isn't enough to make you powerful.

I genuinely can't imagine not winning the house cup with all the advantages we have.

[X] Sneak out and explore. That can't go wrong at all.

No trying to get the suck-up cup please, there's no benefit beyond the XP, which isn't that much anyway.

The whole house cup thing is just so pointless as it doesn't matter at all.
I'd say no and try and get most of the kids to realize its worthless unless there's a good prize of some sort.

We probably won't be trying, it will just happen.
Plus, no reason to turn down free XP
Maybe, if we earn enough points, Gryffindor might appoint us their champion of point earning, thus completing that class quest.

Harry does first Trasnfisguration perfectly on the first try. +10 points for Gryffindor.
Harry does the Levitation Charm perfectly on the first try. +10 points for Gryffindor.
Harry does well in Herbology. +5 points for Gryffindor.
Harry answers Snape's ridiculous questions about potions ingredients beyond his year. *universe breaks* +1 point for Gryffindor.
Harry does awesome shit in general. +infinity points

There is literally no reason to say no. We get XP even if we fail the quest. There are literally no consequences to accepting, and a benefit even if we fail.
