The Power(Harry Potter/The Gamer)

Huh.

Anyway, since you're using a preexisting quiz I assume write-ins aren't welcome?

[X] Neville
[X] Hermione
[X] Susan Bones

[X] Good for them, they beat the system.
Realistically I think we'd probably offer tutoring after but that isn't an option.

[X] Take the wallet, and go around the area asking anyone if they have lost a wallet recently.

[X] Laugh along with the crowd. You love a good joke even if it's at your expense.

[X] Let him yell, it doesn't matter anyway, you're not listening.
Gamer's Mind.

[X] Ask them what's wrong with the car. Maybe you can talk them through how to fix it.
More efficient, and even if we would drive out I think we'd try this first.

[X] Explain to him you didn't take the toy and offer to personally help find the person who did.
You know we would.

[X] I'll give them the money and try and nurse the mother back to health.

[X] Danger shmanger! There's probably some cool stuff inside. Let's see what all the fuss is about.
Sorcerer's Stone, anyone?

[X] Give him half your food and invite him to sit and talk with you, maybe you can befriend him.
See Deathstorm50's argument.

[X] Put it all into a savings account and spend it wisely as needs present themselves.
We're already doing exactly this with our parents' money, and I don't see why how we're related to the money should change anything.

[X] I won't give up until I solve it. Then, maybe I'll try it blindfolded!
After all, you'll level up faster if you do it blindfolded.

[X] I'll save her because I know she's a better person now.

[X] Meh

I don't see the houses making much of a difference to our grinding or access to knowledge, they will mean better relations with teachers, and a huge difference in whom we can recruit.

While I personally think that ravenclaw is the best house, people who value studying first are not exactly heroes, and we need to gather a party, which is best recruited from gryffindor who are basically hero wannabees

I like all these characters, and would not mind them forming the core of our group.

[X] Confront them after the test and try to convince them not to cheat anymore. You don't want them to get in trouble.

We like our friends, and wanna ieep them out of trouble, but also want them to do the right thing as often as possible.

[X] Take the wallet, and go around the area asking anyone if they have lost a wallet recently.

We could walk around looking for a name matching the ID in the wallet.

[X] Laugh along with the crowd. You love a good joke even if it's at your expense.

A nice thick skin is an essential thing to have.

[X] Let him yell, it doesn't matter anyway, you're not listening.

It's never a smart idea to antagonize the person responsible for your continued employment.

[X] Yes, I'm tired, but what are friends for?

Friendship sometimes means doing incredibly unpleasant things for each other.

[X] Explain to him you didn't take the toy and offer to personally help find the person who did.

Nothing beats being a good samaritan.

[X] I'll give them the money and try and nurse the mother back to health.

It's not as though we couldn't make that money back, and we could easily manage fixing the mother.

[X] Danger shmanger! There's probably somecool stuff inside. Let's see what all the fuss is about.

At the end of the day, we're adventurers. We go into incredibly dangerous places for fun and profit. An abandoned building is nothing to us.

[X] Give him half your food and invite him to sit and talk with you, maybe you can befriend him.

Uncle Iroh did it, and anything that makes us more like him is getting my vote.

[X] Invest it into the market. You'll soon have even more!

This was a toss up between market investment and a few big items and a rainy day fund. At the end of the day, more money will equal more and better gear later.

[X]I won't give up until I solve it. Then, maybe I'll try it blindfolded!

Never give up in the face of adversity, even academic adversity.

[X] I'd save her even if she was still a bad person because I know she is innocent this time.

All that's required for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

[X] Ravenclaw

I don't dislike any house, but the Houses of Eagles and Snakes are my favorite.

We can talk to anyone regardless of House affiliation, it's just that Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are less likely to provoke hostility from others, as they're the 'neutral' Houses. Frankly, Hufflepuff would have been interesting too, but I refuse to be a part of a House with a name like that.

Edit: Turns out my choices are equal parts Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, according to the quiz. What a coincidence! :p

An semi-unrelated note. According to that I'm Ravenclaw with Hufflepuff a very close second(1 point difference).

Inb4 all the questions besides the last one are meaningless.

Nah. If the quiz says you've 15 points in Ravenclaw and 2 in Slytherin but you pick Slitheryn for the last one, you'll end up in Ravenclaw. If you have 15 points in Ravenclaw and 13 in Gryffindor, however, and you pick Gryffindor for the last, you'll end up in Griffyndor.

The last question doesn't decide entirely where you go, but if the other questions point toward strong traits of one house, but not as your primary, but that house is what you pick with the last question... You can get that house.

Guys? I think what we need to do is obvious.

[X] Excuse me, but instead of going through all of this trouble, could you simply place me in Gryffindor? After all, if I'd do fine in any of the houses, then is there any harm in simply choosing the one that interests me the most?

Not to be a wet nelly, but how is it that our quest main character is 'interested the most' in Gryffindor? I'm assuming that you're saying this because of something other than your personal preferences. Not saying we shouldn't or can't, I'd just like to know where our character indicated he was the most interested in Gryffindor.

Luna Lovegood was a Ravenclaw. Cedric and Tonks were Hufflepuffs. I think you overestimate Gryffindor's share of heroes.
This is a smarter choice, since anyone could say they've lost their wallet, and just pocket the money. The person who lost it will probably go to the police eventually.
If the wallet contains an ID or credit card, we can just find someone with the right name floating over their head.
[X] Give him half your food and invite him to sit and talk with you, maybe you can befriend him.

You raise a good point.

Because we don't all want Gryffindor. That and Halpo wants to do it this way.

Sorry, that was basically meant to be the "Why don't you just let me pick?" option, with each voter replacing Gryffindor with whatever house they prefer. Sorry for not making that more apparent.

Also, the Sorting Hat did the usual rhyme about eating himself if we find a smarter hat. D&D players, can we make it happen?

Also, I have to admit this whole test being more important than what we prefer kind of bothers me. I'm not completely familiar with the books, but wasn't the biggest aspect about the house you end up in determined by what you want? From what I understand the Sorting Hat would make suggestions, but in the end you could basically override it by saying which you'd prefer.

Huh. I just took the test twice, once using my vote, and once using what I would probably do, myself. The first one was an even Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw split, and the second was firmly Hufflepuff. I'm not sure how to feel about that... Also:

Fair enough, I wasn't thinking about that one too well, I'll probably change that now.

Not really. It takes what you want into consideration, but it also puts you where you belong. The test is to deeper get at where we belong. Like Halpo said, the last vote would come up in the event of a tie, or two votes being close together, but it is not the be-all-end-all.

Harry had a decently even spread of House qualities and only anti-voted Slytherin. That could fit in the framework of this quiz.

And it is the most important factor. That last question is worth more points than any single other question. Just not more than all of them combined.

There is no real indication of that. Harry, according to the book, showed a pretty strong indication that he could end up in any of the houses. Sure he had Slytherin traits, but all those others were strong enough that when he asked for Gryffindor he was able to fit in there easily enough that the Hat didn't see any reason not to go along.

Edit: Further... Sure, the quiz, in theory, is more important. But it's not like you, personally, cannot go through picking various options to get the result you want. Would I prefer you instead try to pick answers you would like to think Gamer!Harry would pick? Absolutely. Can I enforce that? Not even a little bit.

[X] Ask to share the cheat-sheet. This test isn't fair, so why should you be?
[X]Pocket the money. You don't know who it belongs to, so finder's keepers.
[X] Laugh along with the crowd. You love a good joke even if it's at your expense.
[X] Explain to him that accidents happen and that you don't feel you need to be yelled at because of it.
[X] Yes, I'm tired, but what are friends for?
[X] Tell him you didn't take the toy and direct him to someone who can help him find it.
[X] They are obviously in need of the money more than I. I give it all to them.
[X] Danger shmanger! There's probably some cool stuff inside. Let's see what all the fuss is about.
[X] Give him a nice fist in the face. Nobody steals from you.
[X] Put it all into a savings account and spend it wisely as needs present themselves.
[X] I'll put some time into it. I'm sure I could solve it eventually.
[X] Tell her that I'll save her, provided she pays me back the money she owes me.

[X] I'll give them the money and try and nurse the mother back to health.
[X] Maybe I'll just take a peek inside for a little while. What could it hurt?
[X] Give him a nice fist in the face. Nobody steals from you.
[X] Buy a few things right away. Maybe a new car, a boat, a house, etc. The rest I'll put away for a rainy day.
[X] I won't give up until I solve it. Then, maybe I'll try it blindfolded!
[X] I'd save her even if she was still a bad person because I know she is innocent this time.

Just my preferences for the answers. Go for what you want otherwise.

[X] Gryffindor

Two of my three preferred friends for our core group is here, so this makes it easier to hang out with them. I could also go with Ravenclaw.

My results put me even parts Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff, with only a dash of Slytherin.
