Before you sits the skull of an enormous snake full the size of your Spire. It's jaw, long since bereft of flesh and skin, stretches open, locked in what looks to be an eternal yawn. Behind it, the rest of the snake's skeleton stretches out, leading back into a crevice in the mountain and disappearing into the shadows of the tunnels below.
