@Daemon Hunter How is this for the write-in option.

"Perhaps it's best if we also brought our grievances and concerns to my captains? If we are going to secede, we will need the Legion unified in purpose." - Commit to a council of captains to decide on secession or not after getting more context from the heroes of the Eternal Wardens (Oriacarius, Maticus, Doom Slayer, Bader, Orion, etc)

That's valid for it I'd say.

[X] Write-in: You had enough, its time to do something productive, safer, and logical instead of all this civil war business. its not like you'll ever force your blade against humanity. Take your whole legion and everyone you can convince and invade the eye of terror.

Best to consolidate as much context of the situation as possible before planting our foot in earnest.

If we gonna go Rebel we must have other captains specially Ori to help us.

And so begins the Kesar Heresy.

Geez this really is just an alternate Horus Heresy situation. Just Kesar has legit reasons and he isn't being used as a Chaos meat puppet.

Kesar esentially put the fingers on the ears
"Maybe if i ignore it it will go away"

Spoiler: it didnt go away and it will NOT go away

He tried to actively prevent it from happening. At this point by all accounts he seems to have failed, but let's not pretend that he was just some willing bystander who only wanted to not have to acknowledge the situation.

Wanting to prevent it without rocking the boat and without advocating for reform is the equivalent of bystanding

The effort was esentially "please dont civil war guys, pretty please" without actually having strong opinions on any issue or pushing forward any sort of actual compromise

He tried to advocate compromise without compromising himself on any degree
It was a failure at best delusional peacenik at worst

Chamberlain aahhh tier diplomacy

without rocking the boat

he DID roccking the boat but it still didn't work.

If he really did nothing, then the Orus Council wouldn't have happened, Mortarion and Magnus wouldn't reconcile, Eli would have killed 1 quarter of Imperium's population, the Gamma Blocs instead of clear distinctive factions with transparent objections would have been disorganized bashing and clawing angry mobs, the Lord Militant role would still exist and Vulkan and his sons would have been sent to the Malestorm where they would have been slaughtered or worse.

Ah, yes, because him fully taking one side or the other... would help prevent a civil war? No, it wouldn't. If he outright supported reform, which even now you could say he was at least moderately in favor of publicly, then that just puts him in Empy's sights as a criminal for opposing him. If he opposed reform, Vulkan, Konrad, and co. would not listen to him because they've heard that spiel plenty of times already. His #1 point was always to cool things down and prevent total breakdown in cooperation, while also preventing the Imperium from going down the path of shittery as much as possible. You don't care about peace, fine, whatever, but don't try and pretend that Kesar's attempts at it were nothing and that you could think of better without a ton of hindsight

Thats the thing
They were nothing both in hindsight and it results

There wasnt much substance or point to them
It was a few centuries too late, and the wishy washing not taking a side was a waste of time

At any point of the peace attempts it ever felt they had a meaning,it was like trying to put a band aid on a beheaded neck

taking a outright side in public would have been suicide (i agree on that with you)

But taking a side on private and work to subtly support it would have been more productive and meaningful than whatever the fuck he was trying

Umm...

He did a ton of stuff to try and make things work out. He has hardly been a bystander.

the ton of stuff: *cricket sounds*

Kesar was esentially the league of nations

Appealing to agreements and rules that were done with by all sides decades ago and he refused to see that

This isnt a "it could have worked but it didnt" im hindsight outside character

Is a "it was always gonna fail and attempting it was a waste from day 1" in foresight from inside characters (anyone could have realized the peace attempts were a dead end before they even begun)

"Please dont civil war" when both sides have the weapon stockpiles ready to go is foolish endevour

Kudos for trying i guess, but im not softening how worthless the attempt was

So you're changing your argument entirely then. Because your first point was explicitly Kesar doing nothing and just hoping the problem would go away. Now you're saying "Well, it was always doomed to failure". Those are two very different positions.

Not to mention, in a moment of irony, you chose to ignore the problem in your argument and hope that went away. Because you choose to ignore the fact that if not for Kesar, Vulkan would be either dead, corrupted, or an open traitor like 20 years ago. Your point, as it stands, is indefensible for that alone.
