This is almost certainly a terrible idea, but I wonder how much mileage you could get by holding Cadia hostage to Abbadon, almost certainly not enough to do anything super productive (Get me a shuttle to the webway gate or your shiny capital is going to hell, but even more literally this time!), but maybe it could be used as a momentary distraction?

That would involve trusting Abadon not to blow up the shuttle once the exterminatus weaponry is no longer imperiling his capital. It strikes me as a rather bad idea.

Problem with that is that the four exalted daemons are not going to stop just cause we're negotiating with abs.

5. might help, likely viewed as a deniale though
5a. a bit
5b. maybe lizardmen
@Durin I have a few questions if you don't mind.

1. By the Ancient One's presence being "too distinct", do you mean that no one would believe he'd ever work with Chaos/Tzeentch, even temporarily in order to rescue Isha? It sounds a bit like you thought I was suggesting he and the others would pretend to be Tzeentch worshippers, which wasn't quite what I meant.
1.a) As an alternative to pretending to have temporarily worked with Tzeentch out of necessity to rescue Isha (even if they still absolutely hated Tzeentch the whole time), how about presenting them as unwitting pawns of Tzeentch who he manipulated without them knowing? Would that be believable? And how effective would that be in diverting attention from Avernus/the Trust?

2. So, we know that this will increase suspicion of the Trust by "some" or "a lot". More specifically though, what's our best guess as to whether or not we'll be invaded by Abaddon as a result?
2.a) If yes, how soon do we expect an invasion after Ridcully's identity is discovered?
2.b) If an estimate isn't possible, do we have any idea of whether we would be a priority target, or whether we would just be added to the bottom of a lengthy "things to do" list?

3. You've mentioned that the Eldar would provide free military assistance against a Nurglite incursion on Avernus. Would they do the same if Abaddon decided to attack the Trust after Ridcully's true identity is discovered, since that would also have been caused by rescuing Isha?

4. Regardless of 3, can you say approximately what level of favour the Eldar's free military support would be equal to? E.g. A major favour?

5. If we faced an existential threat like an invasion, would we get any free support from Quartus/Secundus/Callamus?
5.a) If yes, what magnitude of favour would this be equal to?
5.b) If no, could we go into some sort of favour "debt" to get support from them anyway?

6. Can you pay the cat tax and share some pictures of the kittens please?

Ah, but before you know it they'll be bringing you presents.

Be careful mice are squishy underfoot.
Cats only leave dead things to people that they think need help hunting.

Ok so had some more thoughts
1 the assassin guild ,crimson crusaders, alpha legion ... who ever would use the battle of Cadia to accomplish long term goal s or operations. Because the A Team has narrative weight and will be the biggest distraction ever.

2 the crimson crusaders show up when needed and well they are suppose to be fighting a guerrilla campaign against the Dark Imperium them showing up and saving Sanguinus soul would be right up the alley. Again Ateam and a army of talking lions attacking Cadia. A crusade showing up would be in order of what is going on.

The next battle between Nurgle and Isha will be a court-room custody battle for the Child of Hate, mark my words.
In that scenario would expect Khorne to butt in and try to advocate that neither Nurgle or Isha would be fit parents for the child. Using the reasoning that a kind and/or loving home is no environment for a child literally born from anger and hate.

Whelp. We were already on Hard Mode, just from choosing Avernus - the next thread is going to escalate quickly to Dante Must Die mode, if it isn't already there in the first post.
Saying it again, we should go looking for the world tree. Or else whichever network allows Temple Cats to function on the Nine Worlds, they're probably the same thing.

This thread is astonishingly unwilling to go digging into mysteries.

Nurgle isn't kind though, just potentially deluded about his own nature (his worshipers certainly are, it's debatable how much that applies to the god himself).

The biggest issue is to find that out we probably need to use Rids, and he's always busy.

I'm down for it, though. Given it's an Avernus-secret it may even be worth a Step.

They'll bring that on the Jerry Springer episode. Khorne will be in the audience when they ask for their opinions on this.

Khorne: Jerry, I think this whole thing is just a charade on Isha's part. If she really was in danger, why didn't she just threaten to kill Nurgle?

Isha: I'm a goddess of life, you *BEEP*! I don't exactly have the arm strength to choke Nurgle out!

Khorne: You see Jerry, just making up excuses! And everyone wonders why Khaine left her.

Isha: YOU SON OF A BI-

**Commerical break here**

I mean who'd have thought Gods were trashy as hell? But Khorne victim-blaming on Jerry Springer? Oof, a new low for Chaos.
