I will point out that two polities doing identical research does not produce identical results. For example Callamus's Impaler research resulted in a different outcome than Tranth's.

What Azgrin said. Also, quit focusing on trait-gain. That should be tertiary at best in regards to actions. The more focused we are, the more likely we will risk everything on something through sheer ignorance of people not reading the full debate or are incapable of understanding opposing viewpoints. That survey up top is a good example.

So I have been doing a re read, but did we ever get around to exploring every one of the ruins under Avernus? Same thing with the sphenixs, did we ever try to figure out how they closed warp rifts?

@Nurgle One thing that we should think about is what to do with Vlad in the timeskip...

I would suggest to use him to locate more pieces of the BCJ, on the grounds that I cannot think of anything more useful for him to do right now...

we studied all the human ruins we found (No xenos ruins have been mentioned by Durin)
the sphinx are guardians and warp entities, so fucking with then is a bad idea. Though as long as you don't mess with them or whatever they are guarding they are quite nice.

Yes we did explore all the ruins a long time ago, And as for how the sphenixs close warprifts they are warp creatures and guardians it is their purpose.

I see, thank you, there is a large amount to read through. I was wondering though if some of our more powerful pyskers could ask the sphenix's if they could study what they are doing.

There might be two left, but they're probably long gone.

And we do know how they the Sphinx do it or at least we think they do. Conceptual locking.

Actually replicating it though is likely far our abilities at this stage.

Did they get up and walk away? Kidding, but for real, why might they be gone?
Maybe the ancient one knows how?
Because they were built 20,000 years ago in far distance parts of avernus next to incredibly dangerous and unpredictable areas of avernus specifically the time lost plains (there's so many random reasons this one could have gone pop) and the space displaced vale (the former is a location where space can get so close together it causes random atomic discharges for example).

so as we expand into new areas of avernus are any chance we are gonna find more DAOT ruins?
If we find the Time lost plains and the space warped vale possibly, but also quite unlikely.

No there was no more beside the ones doom named that may not be there anymore.
Yeah, unless there were black sites on the surface that Muspelheim had no records of then this is pretty much it.

And black sites don't strike me as a the kinda thing that would degrade rapidly compared to the dedicated research centres.

Troll Trade

Inquisitor Klovis-Ultan's negotiations with the Trolls are not as successful as you hoped, finding that the Trolls lacked the numbers and technology to provide much real aid unless you were willing to provide them with a large amount of Tau technology, and wait for a few generations while they develop and understanding of it.

Troll Sell List

Mining assistance - Tech level 6
Avernite Auxiliaries (5% of Troll pop)- Tech level 7
Minor Construction assistance (-10% time on up to 3 projects at a time)- Tech level 8
Major Construction assistance (-20% time on up to 4 projects at a time)- Tech level 10

Anything past 10 is too much, but this doesn't seem so bad. I'm imagining the Troll Negaverse here praying we hit them hard with a tech upgrade.

Uh, sidenote, does the tech level mean 'This gets all the above benefits as well as this one.'?

No shiny Psyker stuff? Oh well. Mining assistance looks nice though, translates to more ships from Vanaheim's yards and more thrones for us.

20% boost on 4 construction projects at a time seems nice.

Question, does the tech level mentioned in the trade options mean 'This gets all the above benefits as well as this one.'? It's a tad unclear.

[X] Mining assistance - Tech level 6

these option is the option that will piss off the High council the least without pushing it to far.

So the Trolls want FTL technology for even the most minor level of assistance? That's the minimum? How about No?

Folks, we don't have to make a trade that's a manifestly bad deal. I don't really want trolls tooling around with better than 21st century technology. They aren't all that firm allies. Trolls with technology that advanced and that little commitment to us could cause all sorts of trouble.

[X] Do not make any trade with the Trolls.

EDIT:

(sigh) Tactical voting time. This is the lowest TL that seems likely to win.

[X] Tech Level 7

At the least let's get Mining Assistance. More metal means more ships from Vanaheim and more thrones for us. All around good.

No Avernite people want or care about FTL. They would throw it away. The Tech level is where FTL was developed.

@Durin shouldn't the Trust be at Tech 19 now that we have fully integrated the upgrades from the conclave?

[X] Mining assistance - Tech level 6
This is all I am willing to offer the Trolls no more.
We can talk to them again later when they have increased their numbers and are more capable of providing major help.
