Honestly, I like Xavier and Mittens fighting the chaos lord and disrupting the ritual. Least favourite part is Arethra disrupting the ritual.

Rituals are important man

the omakes from there point of view when they invaded our world was priceless I cant remember its name though
Yes thats right I keep a quote just so I can savour the salt.

This is also a good point, Arethra stoping our first attempt at thermobaric nuclear tiger was a great crime she committed and she was never brought to justice for.

At some point I wonder if we omake-writers should try and figure out a tagging system for omakes. Eh, probably not.

To me would be selecting the options that led to Avernus itself. Either that or the continent that is not actually a continent.

We had the army almost shattered, they were without Astartes or titans or any aces beyond the ritual. We could have kicked it over like a sandcastle.
Sand castle?

We still took a lotta casulties clearing out their secondary camps after they lost their high command dude.

As of my recollection they still 10s of billions of cannonfodder troops acting as living angry sand bags, a large number of their surviving knights and chaos warbands, hundreds sorcerors of assorted levels and well over 20 Fifth circles. Not a force that's a conventional threat to us, but enough to delay most any force.

With us already having expended our supply of LEF and Berserker Missiles, we were basically relying on the mittens nuke as a hail mary to hopefully stop the ritual or create an opening for Jacob and Lulana to dive in and stop it before completion or we'd have been having the gilded skies about a century earlier.

It might have worked, but I'd be lying if I felt I didn't feel relieved not having to find out.

Seriously, in retrospect after the Golden Skies I am perfectly happy that Areatha interceded. We would have had a fresh 1st Circle dropped right on top of us, and no chance that the Ancient One (who may not have even existed as a character yet) would intercede until long after Lin was dead.

The ancient one existed as a character, I made him while I made Areatha and fleshed out he who walks obliquely. 3 transcendental, 1 rolled a Nat 100

Favorite moment was Ridcully witnessing the Green Awakening and subsequent God related events. Those were the points in time when we all knew that Ridcully was going places.

The saddest moment was Freya's death, but also incredibly poignant in reminding everyone that this planet was dangerous to anyone, and that is something you don't get in most stories these days barring a George RR. Martin's novel anyway.

My personal favorite was the Isha rescue and the fact that Durin ran with my Scroll of Isha omake as being a thing. That was pretty nice.

I liked:
1. All the God Interludes, Isha being the most exciting by far. (I count Arha as a god moment)
2. Valinor, it was the start of the negaverse omakes.
3. Negaverse omakes in general.

Grábakr War Part Six: The Bloody Grind Begins
Grábakr War Part Six: The Bloody Grind Begins
T=7:18:00-14:18:00

The Tyranid assault on your front lines started as the eight day of the invasion drew to a close, with hundreds of millions of bioforms attacking in chitinous waves even as others attempted to infiltrate past your defences. Between the additional mobility that their powers provide and the sheer deadliness of Hive Fleet Grábakr's bioforms once they get close the waves were able to inflict toll on your defenders, killing hundreds of millions of defenders every day. Over the last week your forces ahve been killing over two billion bioforms a day, a number that is near instantly replenished with newly landed bio-forms. The sheer number of dead bodies in some areas is actually starting to become an issue, as infiltrating Tyranids use them as cover to get closer to your lines. While the infiltrators did not cause as much damage as the attack waves what damage they caused was focused on the elite forces you tasked with hunting them down, and they came worryingly close to causing major damage to your defences several times.

As the second week draws to a close you detect the deployment of multiple Bio-Titans in landing zone three, signaling the first major push. In the sort of trickery that you can expect from the Grábakr you can tell that the Bio-Titans will be attacking region two rather then region three, mostly likely after a long range teleportation in order to redeploy. While the forces that you have deployed may be able to hold against a Bio-Titan attack, the chances are no better then even unless you either authorise the deployment of the Bio-Titan Tailored Poison or deploy a dedicated Titan Hunter force to reinforce the region. You currently estimate that your front lines will be able to hold for between and and two weeks without their current feed of reinforcements, which will became more dangerous as the siege continues. At some point you will have to pull back and accept the loss of your front lines, though that time is probebly still to come.

[] Leave it be- Hope that your current forces can handle the Titans and save your poison and dedicated Titan Hunting forces for later.
[] Use Bio-Titan Poison- The poison that Archmagos Biologis Maximal developed will allow your regular forces to take out the Bio-Titans without to much trouble, though as soon as it is deployed the Hive Fleet will begin working on adaptions to counter it.
[] Deploy Imperial Trust Titan Hunters- A mix of Fellswords, Northern Sentinels and Knight-Titans should be enough to take out the Bio-Titans, though not without losses.
[] Deploy Eldar Titan Hunters- A mix of Fire Dragons, Eldar Titans and Wraiths with D-Cannons should be able to easily dispatch the Bio-Titans, though not losing some of your most powerful forces.
[] Write in
Can choose Multiple Options
[] Leave them be- You can't afford to spend any more of your forces on the first line of defence.
[] Send Reinforcements when needed- While the troops lost will hurt the time brought by the reinforcements is worth it. Current
[] Move the Ordinatus Grábakr forward- You have a large force of your greatest warriors guarding it including an entire Eldar Titan Legion, the risk is low.
[] Deploy Super-Elites- Between your Helgaurd, your Psykers, the Eldar and the Astartes you have a massive force of elites, even a tithe of them will stiffen your defences significantly. Current
[] Deploy (Hero)- While they are rare and irreplaceable, even a single hero can change the course of a battle if used well, and you know how to use them well.
[] Write in option
General 1: In use for 10 days, no adaptions noted
General 2-6: Unused
Genestealer 1: In use for 10 days, no adaptions noted
Genestealer 2&3: Unused
Synaptic 1: In use for 10 days, no adaptions noted

[] Use new poison as soon as Tyranids adapt Current
[] Save poisons for when they are needed

Yikes, grind indeed.

@Durin
1. Probably unneeded, but I assume the poison buff is going down in part due to increased numbers and in part due to the new bioforms not being exposed to it?
2. What kind of layout do we expect from the Nid's bio titans both in abilities and numbers?
3. Have we seen the deployment of any heavy nodes (Hive Tyrants effectively.)

Damn, those are some nasty losses.

[X] Deploy Imperial Trust Titan Hunters- A mix of Fellswords, Northern Sentinels and Knight-Titans should be enough to take out the Bio-Titans, though not without losses.
Keep the poison back. This is the first use of Biotitans, not a major investment in them yet it seems, and if we don't use it they might bet on them to the expense of other unit types, at which point we use it. Keep the Eldar back, they will be needed later I am sure. We can afford to lose and replace Fellswords and Northern Sentinels without much of a problem, long term, and they are units dedicated for titan hunting so they are as much of an efficient mass producible counter as we can get.

[X] Send Reinforcements when needed- While the troops lost will hurt the time brought by the reinforcements is worth it. Current

No reason not to use the Ordinatus, it is tough, the risk is low, and it would be well defended.

[X] Use new poison as soon as Tyranids adapt Current
