Oh, I can't believe I forgot to mention the fact that @random_npc 's Volkite Collider was designed after the venerable Photon Pack created by Egon Spengler.

Ok so when I asked a week ago about the ork waagh Durin said that they had about 60 battle fleets. Also the task force is on the maximum end that Durin said could come, 150 battle fleets. The trust had 16 battle fleets. We have to delay the task force at all cost because with those numbers and forces a fourth would be enough to wipe out the trust.

I believe that we will have a demonic incursion in the next few turns. We have not heard of any large abomination forces arriving or the order of omens have not said anything. We are getting close to the end for Saint Lin and I do not think that the Abomination can not take one more swipe at Saint Lin. It just seems to be out of character for that tyrannical monster. So since all chaos forces in the region are busy I think we are going to get a demonic incursion. Cultist numbers have had a increase greater than the norm or just a one turn anomaly. We have usually had those before a invasion, successful chaos agent, and a demonic incursion. So since there is no large abomination force in the region, it may be the alpha legion but they appear to want to steal our tech than kill us so far, I am going with a demonic incursion for the Abomination last attempt on Saint Lin.

Always remember we sent out only half our ships and we're going to be fixing them up as quickly as possible.

I think its entirely likely that by the time they arrive we maybe able to match them in battle fleet numbers, although not in the nid's number of command ships.

You underestimate our abilities. I'd bet we can take a third on the defensive. Maybe even half. We'll be facing ~30 Tyranid battlefleets, after all, and Chaos needs 2 to 1 numbers for a good odds of winning against Hive Fleets.
You overestimate our abilities as well. The Black Imperium has tons of resources and this kind of force is just one that Abby can casually throw around after a level 4 Waagh. We would be in deep shit if the Black Imperium decided to take us seriously.

Yes, we would. That has no bearing on the fact that we can take on much more than a quarter of that task force, however.

Durin said that the cultists have shifted to Tjapa now, so that's even more concerning.

I'm just really worried about the hives that are under construction, particularly Salem since it's also an established city undergoing an expansion rather than a new hive, so it has more people and infrastructure in it.

Anyway, at least we got the Abomination counter-frequencies done, though I'm not sure it's been taught to the rest of our psykers.

Truth be told I am not sure what we can do differently if we know an Abom incursion is otw.

And Khorne has no reason to hate him in particular what so ever, yet for some reason decided to dedicate a whole honoured to his destruction, likely because they are all aware of how potent Ridcully is and how big of a boon he is for team good guy.
If Abom Incursion happens, the only target all Honored/Exalted angyls will be committed is Lin, so we don't really need to do this. We might need Rid's divinations, combat ability and Eldar Guard, actually. And he should be invisible to daemons with his Ghosthelm.

I'd still prefer him in orbit, sending a few honoured to keep our best distracted seems like the resources the abomination would commit to this and he can advise from orbit.

Still if an Abom incursion did happen it would be interesting, how many of our heroes can we stick in the way of the Exalted before Avernus wakes up to max and goes IMMA FIRIN MA LAZOOOOOR!!

I'm just imagining the looks on the daemons' faces when they realize that the single person (Lin) they came to this planet to kill is in fact in orbit.

Actually let's keep Saint Lin on planet. Ok the chances of a large force of abomination demons making past the defenses we have is limited. Now if we get a exalted demon yeah maybe but Saint Lin's aura weakens all demons on planet. I wonder if Jane or Jacob killing a exalted would get them to the next level.

To think of it in other terms with Saint Lin on planet and with his nature and aura a Abomination incursion would be the easiest incursion we have. Tamia has finished Abomination destructive frequencies would would help with the mind control and fighting demons. We have multiple hero's who can kill lesser demons. We have more support from the sirens to battle demons or psykers. We have multiple learning actions that make us more effective against demons. We can handle a demon incursion as long as we keep the clean up alright.

Any Honored after Rid is a one not punching through to Lin. It might be for the best, really - Ridcully is not exactly easy to hurt, and Abomination doesn't have as much anti-psyker bullshit is his arsenal as Khorne.

In my mind, Abom Incursion has a special angylic hit squad after Lin - First Circle, 5 Second Circles, 25 Third Circles. I wonder if we could handle something like that. Areatha, Jacob and Mineyev should be able to at least stall 1st Circle, we have plenty of hero teams that could take any individual 2nd Circle, and our super-elites plus remaining heroes could fight off 3rd Circles.

Do you really think that missing a single honoured is going to matter much when we can barely fight off individual honoured?

Our two best fighters only managed to stall a wounded honoured.

I think you severely over estimate our ability. If the exalted does come we're basically going to be relying on Areatha to keep it distracted putting our heads between our legs and kissing our asses good bye until the planet can get involved.

No, they kicked his ass to oblivion in ten seconds. Rotbart and his guard could've kill/banish another, and Companions of Varen did. Straight from Mitten's trait description, he alone has a chance to kill an Honored with an ambush. We have plenty of heroes who could take on one.

Exalted are a different beast, but as long as it's not an ultra top tier one like An'ggrath, I believe all our heroes together could take one.

to be fair, that was a khornate demon being fought with swords. They were fighting it on its favored ground, another less melee focused one might be easier.

honored is about as broad a term as "paragon" which ranges from the head of the black irons, to abandon. it really depends on the damon. that said, an honored demon would need to be either near the top end of the scale or extremely focused on anti psyker work to be able to kick rids around the way the last one did. Which in practical terms means that is the kind of damon that will be taking a shot at rids. chaos has a deep bench to draw from.
