Maybe we should look into designing a bit more beefy and less speedy Light Cruiser that could replace Destroyers, then.
Eh, Escort Cruisers are also much more useful in fighting heavier ships like our Tyranids prefer than escorts are.
I'm a bit torn on that.
It would make sense in terms of their role. But there's a pretty big gap between them and escorts though in terms of power and effectiveness, so it could end up pretty deceptive. Other groups are still using a ton of frigates and destroyers, while an escort frigate is a couple times as good. So comparing our escort numbers would then end up pretty strange.
I think that's an excellent idea.

Perhaps give them a new classification then, like Screen, to distinguish them from regular Capitals while emphasizing they can do the same job as escorts.

By that after expansion we have 20 armies of PDF, 5 armies of Trooper and 1.25 armies of Guard.
Together ~2,600,000,000 man at arms. GIven our population of 80 bil that is 3.25% at arms. That is a low percentage and we know the recruiting pool is empty...
Edit: Counting 10% Thited PDF 100% Troops and 250% Guard does not affect it that much but round it out to ~4.3%

It's actually 20 armies without last third of an expansion and tithe to Imperial Trust Guard, but more importantly you forget that most of our population lives in moon hives. I think we only have about 30 billion on Avernus proper.

@Durin Since the Eldar are aware of Abbadon sending fleets to deal with certain Tyranids splinter fleets could they take advantage of that by using divination to find out which ones he would target and pull their forces from those to instead let the Dark Imperium use up their own resources while they free up some of their own?

Are our forces useing neutron rifles or impalers? Or is it a combination of the two?

For mainstay weapons, Militia and PDF use impalers, Helltroopers and Helguard use neutron. All groups use neutron for special weapons.
Helltroopers use neutron? I thought they were 50-50 pulse/volkite.

If I remember correctly we can't make more or can we and I somehow passed over it? If we can make more or have the stc for it I think we should try to improve them. Such as having a better ammo capacity it simply making them more powerful with tranths paragon ability.

PDF use Pulse Rifles these days. Helguard do use neutron mainly, though there's also a lot of plasma and even some grav.

The Helguard's equipment is in the military tab, although the helltroopers is probably out of date. We are currently using a 50/50 split of Volkite and Pulse for them and full pulse for the PDF.
Militia still uses impalers.
