It's more to do with long term planning. We will need to train the grandchild for a decade or centuries in order to take over when Rotbart dies. Syr does not want to get married. But she does want to be made Admiral of the Trust fleet. When Rotbart dies if she does not have a kid well it falls to her. She does have some good stats.
If she doesn't have a kid and doesn't want to be governor she can abdicate and give the position to someone else. Bloodline isn't important for this.

@Durin:
1) Did Vlad ever go by "Ciaphas Cain"?
2) Can Vlad help update our military training curriculum with the exercises he put the Phase Tigers through?

2. Do women still have to carry babies to term in their womb with our tech level or is there some sort of incubator tech that prevents them from having to deal with the various issues pregnancy presents?
@Chlof while there is incubator tech they can use, most babies are carried in the womb. Children who grow in an iron womb are stuck with a small but permanent vulnerability to daemonic possession compared to children who grew in a living woman. This is represented by having 1 or 2 points less in the base Piety stat.

Well, that's annoying. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that's for clones, not normal kids from an iron womb. You can make peopel without much issue, but you can't make a specific person.

@durin, are there any observed differences between the children of psykers who gestated in their mother's womb and those who gestated in an iron womb?
iron wombs are not heavily used on Avernus, and one trend that you have noticed is that psykers born from them are far more susceptible to possession
3. By more susceptible to possession, do you mean while they're gestating or even long after they're born?
3. even after being born
As for the base Piety thing, that was from me asking why it doesn't show up on Tranth's sheet, and Durin saying it's represented by less Piety. Not in the compilation posts though.

Ah, here we go. It was under General, because it was asking about more than Tranth.
@Durin

1. You answered this before but I've forgotten the answer and I can't find it by searching for it, but do the children of clones have the same susceptibility to daemonic possession as the clones themselves do?
2. Shouldn't Tranth have and the Sarens have had a trait that decreases Piety due to them being clones?
1. no
2. they had a minus to their base Peity from that
This time it was about clones though, but given that it's the same daemonic possession vulnerability, I'd guess that the reason clones have it is because they're vat-grown.

@Durin
1. Will we be able to make requests of Dalv, like Areatha?

2. Do any of the Phase Tigers know the truth?

3. When we found out about the spider bane Dragonfly, everyone was so happy. Can Dalv recommend some quality of life improving animal or plants?

4. Does Dalv know of any Helheim technology left that we didn't know about?

5. It is said that you can contact the planet mind when you bring together the Black Crystal Regalia. What can Dalv tell us of them?

6. If Jacob died, would that hurt our relations with the Nynye?

I think the explanation for people not being born in the mother's womb being more susceptible was a mix of 'Clones have very similar souls so their vulnerabilities are also similar.' and 'Something something parasitizes/shelters in mother's soul in the womb.'

Wow you guys are really set on Jane be asexual. I'm just sayin having the governor restarting a bit of his romance life would probably be good for him. Lets get him waifu 2.0 as our first waifu got killed in the dumbest manner possible without us being able to contest it at all (which was dumb as fuck in my opinion).
You say that like people on the other side aren't equally set on making this ship happening.
After all, nobodies suggested a find relationship action, which would be the smart way of changing Rotbarts relationship, they're just saying Rotbart-Jane OTP.

@Durin
1. What action should we take if we want to try to design a new orbital defence installation type?
2. I remember Sarnow saying that he got the ratio of orbital defences wrong, and that we have twice as much Advanced Defense Stations as we should. Should we have an action that builds other installation types only?

The warp doesn't consider an iron womb to be an appropriate mother.

Or maybe it's all the association with the Men of Iron.

@Durin
1. Would a sufficiently powerful Stasis Grenade like effect be able to "freeze" a Darkmatter reactor so it can't explode?
2. If the above is yes would it be possible to build such stasis fail safes into Darkmatter reactors/reactor assemblies?

I've always shipped Fred and Scott. I don't know why. There's nothing that points to it, they just work together. Is this how Crack Ships get popular?

3. no
4. no he does not
5. not saying
6. yes but not massively

1. unknown, interactions between multiple exotic effects can be strange
2. maybe

Nynye Trade
Nynye Trade

The technology that you provided to the Nynye was significantly more advanced then agreed on, putting Lulana in your debt. She would like to even the scales and has offered several options for you to do this.

You have three points to spend on the following:

Augmentation Design (1, can be taken multiple times)- One of the pinnacles of Alkahestry is the augmentation of sentients to create super-soldiers. Lulana is willing to assist with the creation of an augmentation process and teaching it to your psykers. While you will eventually be able to do the same it is most likely a century or so before your psykers reach the required skill level.
Alkahestry Supply (1, can be taken multiple times)- While with time your psykers will be able to meet your demands for Alkahestry as things stand you mostly rely on the Nynye. Lulana is willing to provide you with another 150 trade credits each time this option is suggested.
Titant Design (1, can be taken multiple times)- One of the pinnacles of Alkahestry is the creation of Titants, gigantic augmented beasts used as superheavies. Lulana is willing to assist with the creation of an Titant creation process and teaching it to your psykers. While you will eventually be able to do the same it is most likely a century or so before your psykers reach the required skill level.
Military Assistance (1, can be taken multiple times)- While Lulana is willing to fight by your side against common foes and certain other enemies there are many situations where she does not feel comfortable committing her forces to war. If you choose this option you can request that she commits her forces to one campaign that she would otherwise not get involved in,
