Ok so outline for speech
Pouation crease 22 billion
Economy grown
Fought a demon incursion which slowed the economy growth
Tithed 2 corps of Hellguard to the trust
Syr is looking for a husband
Anything relevant to add?

I don't care where it goes but I want to add the idea for advanced power armor so we don't get in trouble for spending trust resources for something we did not inform them of.
I will beg to get this and any plan that has it will get my vote.

We also Tithed the Helltrooper army to the Trust
We have armed a large part of the militia with power armor so we can now deploy more forces for the Trust

I don't think Syr looking for husband is quite High Council theme - for one, does she? But what we should mention is that Tugozak's domain will unite soon and Waagh into someone.

The trust will pay for advance power armor

But proposals which will be added to their section will be
Subsidies Admech Titan manufacturing and titans
subsidies for Admech forces (really anything we can get to bring that huge Am cost)
Release of more tech to colonies (am and em production is our bottleneck)
See what happen with blood dragon study.

as long as it is mentioned I am not fused
I can't specifically see anything else to add to the list

Adds to Ridcully's backlog.

IC we have no reason to think anything like them even existed. Unless we scry the Iron War itself and even then only if we get a crit I bet.

Anyone got other suggestions for proposals?
We have been getting our anti-psyker forces mauled and the aid from the nifelheim is only barely stemming it.

Also you got anything to add to the omake in the PM? just waiting on @Valkur and @Shard to see if they have anything they want to add.

Huh. Theres an idea.

Have Ridcully divine the cause of the (DAoT humanities) Fall.

Should work? I see no reason why it would be protected from divination.

And if it is... well.

Actually, dont the Eldar know? Or be able to divine it pretty easily, and have interest in knowing?

So from the columns describing economic strength per resource in the statistics for Asgard I've pretty much calculated Avernus's economic strength - the value that we get from Relic Material as I don't have constant of change for that.
The formula seems to simply be total production / resource specific constant. With the value of that constant shifting dramatically between nearly 1 for food and about a million for thrones.
Using this I'm able to pretty closely approximate the economic strengths of Alfheim, Svartfelheim and Musphelheim with an error between 2% and 0.2%.
Using this assumption Avernus's Economic strength is about 955. With some allowance given for how much Relic Material is worth.

How do I put this...

Look it's probably because I do the history so these things get me pedantic, but first when's the cut off? What do you define as the Dark Age especially given that the Dark Age of technology was not universal across the galaxy (at least in embers.)

Second who are you referring too? The term dark age of technology was something the Imperium and Admech slapped on that period of history to try and convince people that it wasn't that impressive, but that's what they called it. There were hundreds of thousands of dark age polities etc.

What I'm trying to say is you'd be better off asking what were the causes of man kind's fall from a tech level 22-25 civ to a level 10 civ...and even then that's too broad.

Thankfully we know the reasons for why humanity turned into a dumpster fire that keeps on burning.

1. The Men of Iron rebellions.
2. Uncontrolled exploding psykers every where.
3. The aftermath of the Iron War turning everything into a free for all.
4. Slaanesh's birth stopping warp travel for at least 200ish years stopping attempts at intergalactic rebuilding and giving asshole polities time to solidify.
5. Emps fostering the superstitious bull shit like the conservative admech and proto ecclisiarchy (not killing them and creating them accidentally or not) that would come to strength in the post Horus heresy.
6. The Horus heresy pushing all that superstitious bullshit in the admech to the fore.
7. The War of the Beast pushing the ecclisiarchy into state religion.

At least that's how I see it.

Rather than divining the cause of the Fall, how about divining why the Men of Iron turned on humanity? As far as I'm aware, it's hinted that this was due to the effects of Chaos. Knowing the full reasons why, and why the Men of Iron turned on humanity but the Men of Stone didn't, might help with liberalising the Adeptus Mechanicus to a degree, and open up the possibility of using the Men of Stone once again.

It may, though I don't share your enthusiasm about it changing minds.

As for the reason, the one that makes sense according to our knowledge is the MoI seem to have been designed as memetic hazards waiting to happen and the MoS weren't.

Makes sense since humanity didn't know about Chaos at the time.

Are you certain of that? I was under the impression that our knowledge on the subject was something like "The MoG created the MoS and MoI."

We don't have any knowledge of the MoG and aren't aware of how the MoS or MoI were developed.

The superstitious bullshit was already a part of the Admech before the Emperor got to them. The admech was too important to dismantle so he accepted their believes as necessary. He also didn't push for either side but wanted the admech to innovate and slowly rebuild humanities knowledge base. As for the proto ecclisiarchy that was spread by Lorgar and his legion they didn't exist at the start.

From Asgard with Love: War on Two Fronts
From Asgard with Love: War on Two Fronts

As well as dealing with the Abomination realm of Valinor the Trust was made aware of a powerful Ork WAAAGH heading toward Mar Sara. This was compounded by the fact Valinor planned to launch a Crusade to kill the Lin "The Last Saint" while the Trust was distracted. With eight years of warning and Asgard went into overdrive to prepare for the new threat. Sigmund choose to spend those eight years pushing the green knights as hard as he could without killing them. He swore he would not let their inexperience compromise the defense of The Trust. His effort seemed to pay off , while his knights were still no veterans, they showed a skill and bravery well beyond what one would expect from unblooded troops. Shortly after the Lord-Marshal returned from an emergency meeting of the High Council he told Sigmund what was coming.

The knowledge that they faced a force of over a 100 Billion battle harden Orks was a major blow to Sigmund's confidence. Such a powerful foe would be costly to defeat no matter how much they prepared. To give Asgard and himself to best chance he sought out one of the best Slayer of Orks on Asgard, Hrothgar of the Baronial House of Scylfing. He asked for any all aid Hrothgar could give so Sigmund could prepare the novice Knights, and try to save as many of their lives as he could. Hrothgar agreed and the two spent the remaining years before deploying to Mar Sara running the Knights ragged. Even with all this the Aesir would still suffer some of the greatest losses on that far flung colony.

By the time it came to move out Sigmund was as nervous as could be. This was noticed by his mentor Sigurd who took him aside to ease his nerves. Sigurd asked why he was so worried had not Sigmund already proven himself in battle? Facing foes and leading his men to victory against the worst the galaxy had to offer? Sigmund spoke of how despite his victories so far that he was still far from equaling any of the true Heroes of the Trust or even of Asgard. Sigmund told the Lord-Marshal about all the research he had done on the Orks both current and from records of The Beast War of the Imperium era. This painted a picture of true carnage and destruction unlike anything they have faced before. Sigurd listened to the worries of his apprentice he did not give him any false assurances or platitudes about the grave danger they now marched towards. He only told Sigmund that if it was their fate to die then they would face it with honor and blade in hand hacking at the enemies of Humanity. They could do no less after all they were Warriors of the Emperor and Guardians of one of the last lights in a dark galaxy. This steeled Sigmund resolve he thanked his teacher and marched beside him to war, and if necessary death.

Once Sigmund and his detachment were assigned to a Cruiser Squadron for transport to Mar Sara he found out that the commander was someone he knew. The Squadron was under the command of now Commodore Syr Rotbart who he greeted once again. After they gave each other congratulations on their promotions they planned to meet once they had time and Sigmund's forces had been setted. Over the six week journey to Mar Sara both Syr and Sigmund got to know each other better, and by the end of the trip considered each other friends. Syr wished Sigmund the best of luck and Sigmund did the same they would not see each other again for close to five months, and when they did both would be changed.

Once on the ground Sigmund joined the High Command meeting alongside Lord-Marshal Sigurd. This was the first time he was meeting Chapter Master Julis of the Vargarain Guard, and he was a truly inspiring presence. The strategy for holding the planet were laid out by the assembled commanders Sigmund was to be part of the reserve meant to plug any opening that the Orks make or to cover the retreat of other forces. While this would keep Sigmund from the fight initially it would put him wherever the fighting became truly desperate. Remembering the words of his liege Sigmund accepted his duty with no hesitation. Once the rest of the battle plans were made all that was left to do was wait for Orks to arrive.

When Waaagh Gutcrumpa finally arrives in system it is with 4 space hulks, hundreds of capital ships and countless thousands of escorts and roks. The approach to Mar Sara is marked by an extremely effectictive harassment campaign that results in the death of 100s of millions of Orks. While impressive it still leaves far too many that will make landfall. Once the green skins did make it to the ground the true danger became apparent. The quality of the Orks and their twelve hundred Gargants are the greatest threat that The Trust has ever faced in it's short existence. The fighting in the first three weeks proved just how much stronger the new Orks had become. Despite all the skill and fortifications the Green Tide still managed to overrun 19% of the fortifications of Mara Sara as well as all unfortified areas, and to kill four billion of the defenders. In the Void things were fortunately going much better with the raids and long range bombardment ships being able to destroy most of the Roks and all but the smallest of the Space Hulks along with the vast majority of the Kroozers.

While moving from front to front Sigmund was barely able to keep his forces from being overrun. Every battle was a slog, every retreat a costly one, and every holding action ultimately temporary. For all the power and fury Sigmund and the Trust could bring to bare the Orks had more, and they were slowly pushing the Trust back. The fighting on Mar Sara was the worst that the Trust had ever experienced and only the rapidly built and expanded fortifications allowed them to hold out. Over time the greatest threat is identified as Da Crumpers, the two billion Ork host that accompanies the Warlord Gutcrumpa even the smallest ork among the horde could be a Nob among lesser orks, worse still where those in the Da Crumpers called Nobz, eight million orks the match of any boss the trust had seen before. This force is nearly unstoppable and only the best elites of the gathered armies can match them.

After over two month of fighting Sigmund has already had two brushes with death. The first time was while fighting at one of the northern fortresses. Sigmund had joined up with the Timeless Army and had pushed ahead to keep the fortress in Trust hands. Having arrived ahead of most of his support the battle against the Ork scarboyz and vehicles was hectic and brutal. Sigmund had been able to reinforce the fortress long enough for the rest of the Timeless Army to arrive, but he had very nearly been overrun while doing it. The second was when he had been assigned with the rest of the Aesir to defend Blackwater Station. It was here that the Einherjars and Valkyries of Asgard faced down the Gargants of Gutcrumpa. The raw power the Waaagh granted to the orks ramshackle titans caught many off guard. Barrages that would have once felled a Gargant twice over merely damaged them, if that. It is a testament to Sigmunds skill that he was still able to lay low the lead Gargent, slaying the Ork commander leading the assault, yet his victory was not without cost. His knight has been badly damaged by the Gargants many weapons, including a vicious blast that had torn open the cockpit sending shrapnel scything through his legs. Despite the death of the Ork commander, it soon became apparent that Blackwater could not hold. By the time the order to withdraw came over a dozen Courts had fallen. Near dead from blood loss, and in a badly damaged knight, Sigmund managed to drag himself back to the staging grounds. These injuries and the damage to his Knight would keep him off the field for weeks. Unfortunately the damage to his legs was extensive and there was no biomancers with the skills to repair them available so Sigmund demanded they be replaced with cybernetics so he could return to battle.

After another month 61% of the fortifications have fallen, and another 7 billion soldiers of the Imperial Trust with them. However, the Trusts finest had not gone quitely. according to estimates of the 80 billion Orks who made landfall a full third of them have been killed. This along with the Navy being at last able to regain control of the orbitals allowed for reinforcements to begin to arrive. Reports also came in that Avernus had defeated the Crusade aimed at Saint Lin and were nearly at Mar Sara with more elites. With the orbital control regained all orkish advances were halted. This still left much of the planet under the control of Gutcrumpa but allowed the beleaguered forces to get new blood for the counter attack. The new forces helped stem the tide and inflict major damage to the Orks.

Once Sigmund was healed and his Knight restored enough for battle he rejoined his teacher Sigurd. Things had been looking up for the Trust but then Da Crumpers showed their raw power. They ripped through all of the defenses forcing Chapter Master Julis to deploy the majority of his reserves to halt their advance. The battle was a disaster for the Trust, with a dozen more courts of Knights falling, 10 companies of Astartes, half of the battle psykers, and 20 million power armoured elites. If it wasn't for the sacrifice of High Chaplain Azeriel of the Blood Dragons and his Death Company, the deployment of all of the Imperial Trust's Decent Destroyers and Deathstrikes the battle would have been a rout. During all this Sigmund stood by the side of his Liege guarding him and killing all who approached. A grim reminder of the power of the new orks, even isolated and under orbital bombardment Da Crumpers remained a lethal threat.

Every attempt to destroy Da Crumpers only resulted in major losses for the Trust. Even as the rest of the horde died around them over the coming weeks . Even the Mighty fire Giants and the veterans of the timeless army bled mightily as they launched their assault upon them. This battle would prove to be the turning point however when Lord-Marshal Sigurd lead the remaining Knights, surviving Astartes, as well as a strike team of Last Hunters on a bloody rampage through Da Crumpers all the way to Warlord Gutcrumpa himself.

While The Lord-Marshal himself engaged Gutcrumpa in a duel. Sigmund and the rest of the strike team held off the rest of Gurcrumpa's elites. Sigmund pushed himself farther than he ever had before knowing that if he failed then the Ork elite would be able to aid their Warlord and kill Sigurd. He refused to let that happen emptying his mind of all other thought and focused only on killing the greenskins. Sigmund would not die here he had survived Daemonic Invasions, lead armies to conquer entire world, and beaten countless other enemies of Humanity. All this fueled Sigmund's soul and will to keep going even as the bosses of Gutcrumpa's core swarmed and struck downthe others around him, Sigmund would not fallhe held the flank by himself. But even his new found drive could not change the realities of war his Knight was damaged and more Nobz, Mega-Nobz, and Bosses were coming for him. Sigmund knew he would most likely die, but he chose to face his death with honor and blade in hand like his mentor had told him. As his Knight was finally disabled Sigmund was ready to take his sword and meet the Orks outside. When he exited he killed the first two Nobz he encountered and bellowed a challenge through the still functioning vox-systems of his knights to the Orks trying to buy more time for Sigurd to win his duel. The Orks took up the challenge, but as the came to him they suddenly seem to grow much weaker. He had succeeded in his task, buying enough time for Gutcrumpa to be slain, a last hunter finishing the beast with a perfect shot to its freshly damaged skull. Denied its nexuses, the power of the Waagh receded. Without the power of their Waagh Sigmund found the Nobz far easier prey, slaying three more before an exhaustion induced misstep allowed one to land a clean blow to land upon his left side. The blow shattered his ribs and was followed by a chopa that cut through most of his left arm ruining it permanently. Sigmund would have died there if not for the intervention of the rest of the strike force. Lord Marshal Sigurd cutting through the orks to come to his protege, while a last hunter picked off what Orks were already near him. Even still, it was a near thing, even with the assistance of a libreans biomancy he was at death's door by the time he made it behind friendly lines.

News and the stories of the Strike Force would spread amongst the rest of the armies on Mar Sara. All would be hailed as Heroes especially The Lord-Marshal whose Legend would grow ever larger. But along with Sigurd another Legend would grow Sigmund's defiant stand against such overwhelming power, his refusal to die, his fight even after the loss of his Knight, and the challenge he issued while on foot that was heard by all the surviving members of the strike force. All these stories and more would spread and soon Sigmund would be called "The Defiant."

The injuries Sigmund sustained along with the loss of his Knight meant that he was out of the fight for most of the remaining war. When the reinforcement from Avernus arrive they immediately set up around Da Crumpas and goaded them into attacking the dug in forces and slaughtering them. Two weeks after the Avernites arrived they unleashed yet another insanity upon the Ork hoards, something that only an avnerite would consider. Sigmund observes from a safe distance the form of a giant Phase Tiger run amok through Da Crumpas, noting with amusement a rather distinctive efficiency and grace from the flaming construct. After DA crumpas where at last put down, the rest of the of the Orks were mopped up without much issue. The cost of the war was massive billions were dead and thousand of warmachines destroyed. The Aesir were the worst hit losing two thirds of all the Knights available. When Sigmund was preparing to leave and return to Asgard after having his injuries heal enough to travel and his left arm replaced with bionics, he met with his teacher. Sigurd told Sigmund that his actions on Mar Sara had earned him the right to commission a custom Knight. This was perhaps the highest form of praise Sigmund could receive especially because he had lost his knight in the battle. On the way back to the Core Worlds Sigmund once more rode with the Squadron commanded by Syr. When they talked they joked that both of them seemed to keep getting it near death situation even after leaving Avernus. It was good to laugh with a friend after all. On the way back they discussed what they believed would happen now that The Trust had won. Syr believed that a push to destroy Valinor would be made at the coming High Council Meeting. Sigmund agreed and stated that if Asgard was able to deploy any Knights he would be amongst them. Sigmund would not let this attempt on Saint Lin go unpunished not after everything the Saint had done for him.

When Sigmund and Syr returned to the core worlds he sent his request to have a custom Knight built to Avernus by way of Syr claiming it his repayment for her use of him as a messenger during the First Expansion War. After that he returned To Asgard to recover and prepare for the war against Valinor he believed was coming. Three years after returning to Asgard Sigmund's belief turned out to be true. The Lord-Marshal gathered a few courts of the remaining Knights only a tenth of what was available just a few year before and gave command to Marshal Horthgar with Sigmund as second in command. Sigurd felt Horthgar and Sigmund were the perfect representatives for this conquest. Sigmund acquired a new Knight to use while his custom one was still being built.

Once the Knights were prepared they met up with the rest of the Trust Forces. Sigmund as second in command of all the Knights in this campaign was part of the High Command. While there he was surprised to see that Syr had been promoted to Vice-Admiral. Using everything the Lord-Marshal had taught him along with his own experience and knowledge Sigmund gave aided Marshal Horthgar in making the best plans for the use of the few Knights available. After the meeting was over Sigmund decided to once again congratulate Syr on her newest promotion. Syr also congratulated Sigmund on his new status as "The Defiant." This embarrassed Sigmund a bit since he never truly got used to his title. Sigmund left Syr after spending some time catching up and went to prepare his Knights for battle. Over the next 12 years Sigmund would lead his Knights in battle against the cultist of the Abomination. Despite being on the defensive Valinor had exhausted its forces on the failed Crusade, and so had nothing that put up any real challenge. By the end of the 12 years all worlds save Valinor itself which had fallen to the Princedom of Demagoye had been purged clean of all life. While the worlds themselves would need to be cleansed before the Trust could settle them a dangerous front had been eliminated. When Sigmund returned from the Campaign with another victory to his name he was presented his new custom Knight named "Hovod." He would continue to hone his skills under The Lord-Marshal until The Aesir was once more called to War.

@Durin here is the next part. Like always is there is anything I need to change to make it canon compliant please let me know.

Once more thanks to @random_npc @Doomed Wombat @Valkur @Shard

The term dark age of technology was something the Imperium and Admech slapped on that period of history to try and convince people that it wasn't that impressive, but that's what they called it.
What? No. AdMech worship it while other Imperials who know about also treat it with reverence. It's called "Dark" not to make it less impressive, it's called that way because almost all knowledge about it was lost.

We don't have any knowledge of the MoG and aren't aware of how the MoS or MoI were developed.
Nah we know the MoG exists.

But that's about it.

Yah, but he catered to them, he reinforced their beliefs he made himself their idol while suppressing the progressives and he sure as shit did not want them innovating because as mere pathetic humans they'd fuck it all up again.

He may not have taken an explicit side, but he was on a side and that side was the conservatives and if he wanted them to slowly innovate than he should have stamped out the ones who go INNOVATION HERESY. For fucks sakes its not like Kelbor Hal the progressive fabricator general would have been against that.

...A religion based on him and you think he doesn't bare at least some blame? I acknowledge that he didn't want it, but at the end of the day there would be no Ecclisiarchy without the Emperor to create it, no horrific terrifying cult whose total death count must be staggering due to witch hunts, burnings, ill planned crusades and taking resources away to build planet sized churches.

It is explicitly called dark by the the admech see it as a time when FILTHY INNOVATION was allowed to run rampant and dark by the Ecclisiarchy because all humans at the time were FUCKING HERETICS.

It's kinda the point where the admech's theology breaks down innit.

And no most people don't treat it with reverence most don't even know what it is.

Things are called dark ages because they are associated with being bad, the "dark age" of Europe for example, the veracity of that name is neither here nor there.

If they wanted it to be a positive association they would call it the Golden Age of humanity. But why would they? That harms their message. Calling it a golden age makes admechers want to innovate which is BAAAAD and makes people ask the question why do we need the Emperor because if the Golden Age of humanity was happening at a time when emps was doing literally nothing why do we need him now which is also BAAAAD.

So its a dark age where innovation and no emps was rampant and a dark age must be bad.

From what I remember, it's also called "dark" because it was a time of little piety, where humanity put is faith in flawed technology that eventually failed rather then in the light of the emperor.

It's dark because innovation was everywhere which led to men of iron and its dark because no emps EVIL MACHINES had people's faith which is 100% not a jab at the admech absolutely not.

Again you don't call something a dark age if you want a positive connotation, you call it dark if you want to give it a negative one. To us at least dark age is meant to give the idea of a primitive time with little knowledge.

For the Imperium it's intended to inspire the image of them having no idea of the true faith and thus bad and it has to be bad no emps no omnisah just super tech, galactic dominance and hopefully less human suffering (a low bar to clear given how gratuitous the Imperium was in that category, but in Embers at least if we're anything to go by it was 10000% better.)

You don't know much about the 30k mechanicum do you? Innovation and invention were stuff the mechanicum did all the time during the Great Crusade. The only stuff the Emperor forbade were the pieces of technology that were too dangerous to make use of, things like nanotech wmds, corrupted warp tech and all the nastier exotic tech DAoT humanity came up with. Kelbor Hal rebelled because he didn't think the Emperor was the actual omnissiah and hated the fact that he made certain technologies forbidden.

Nah we know the MoG exists.

But that's about it.

We do? I thought it was just OC that Durin told us they existed. Well then that neat but until we divine the Iron War I doubt we will get much more info on any of the three types.

Yah, but he catered to them, he reinforced their beliefs he made himself their idol while suppressing the progressives and he sure as shit did not want them innovating because as mere pathetic humans they'd fuck it all up again.

He catered to them because they were the only faction with the industrial power to launch the Great Crusade. He was their idol because of his power and aura. Also if the dragon is the machine god then he gained that position by defeating and binding it. He then had it's dreams push humanity forward. He wanted the admech the regain as much of the lost knowledge before they went off and tried something new.

The sides of the ancient admech were nothing like what the modern sides of the admech are. The fanatics on each side were the only ones left after the Heresy was over so it makes sense that they devolved. As for Kelbor Hal he hated having to submit to the Emperor so propably would have taken the chance to turn when ever it looked like it could win.

He did't make the religion and did take steps to stamp it out. He went overboard and pushed Lorgar to chaos and we end up with the current situation. The Ecclisiarchy was also made after the Emperor was placed on the Golden Throne. The witch hunts while bad were sometimes the only thing that kept worlds safe during the Age of Strife. As for the ill planned crusades that is more on the Imperium as a whole not just the Ecclisiarchy since most Crusades were to destroy "threats" to Humanity or acquire new resources. The planet sized churches though you are spot on about huge waste.
