I thought he was in the process of reincarnating, and would be reborn in a few thousand years, so his spirit would still have survived. Or at least, that's what I remember from when he actually died and Lin had his visions, but I don't recall anything that contradicts that, unless I missed a very important update somewhere along the line. Of course, I could simply be mistaken.
Yeah he's going to be back in around 4000-14000 years, but reincarnating/ascending means he's dead.

And focusing all his attention on that.

And its not really keeping your head down if there's a constant stream of souls heading your way.

One way or another we need to face the issue, better do it now while Lin is still with us rather than face the music without him or his teachings.
Or perhaps we need to do it without him.

Prove that we can stand on our own without help and make our own decisions and come to our own conclusions, especially since Lin is neither flawless and is certainly biased.

I dunno I'm just an idiot.

I do not think you are a idiot. In my humble opinion you are afraid, and you fear for your sanity. Do not worry I am also fearful about the outcome but let us face it as human. Bravery after all not absence of fear, rather suppressing the fear and remain determined till the end.

Nah I'm not afraid, I already know what awaits us and frankly I don't care whether we do or do not investigate it.

Ah. There is no reason why we should do it, sounds like something that can break the faith of a lot of people if it becomes common knowledge. Too much trouble for something that we probably can't change even if we know about it.

Edit : Just wait for the Emperor's Ascension and rebirth, he will probably pull a Ynead-whatever-its-name on the abomination once he ascends and is running high on god-juice.

It does not matter who says it or if humans deny that it does not make it any less true. Daemons will still eat the soul, while imperials will use ignorance and self-delusion to ignore the issue they sane way the ignore the issue of imperial creed. It is far better to face the truth and acknowledge it and if it is unfavourable to use then take actions to resolve it rather than to remain consciously blind to it and it's implications. First let us find the truth, then if it unfavourable to us then let us find out ways to change the current state. If worship of a xeno God is the only way that is most cost-effective then only then we must accept it but not before exhausting all other possible avenues.
I mean, that's neither here nor there, but it doesn't change the fact that demons and cultists screaming "Ha-ha, your souls just dissolve into warp or get ripped apart by Chaos" is not something they can use to lower morale of our population, as such information will be dismissed as insane and/or corruptive ramblings, regardless whether actually true or false.

No one ever said after finding out we will Infrom it to everybody, at least not before taking proper measures to solve it. We still got Saint, Oracle and Eldar Favours to call upon to deal with the issue.

Or you know he might try, fail and become Chaos food. I don't imagine he is exempt from rolling anymore than any other god in Embers.

Well, we can give him the black sword somehow when he is running high on god-juice just after his ascension to increase his chances, he may actually have a chance however low at killing the Abomination at that point.

So on a 'big favor' I have some ideas.

Idea 1-Ask the Eldar that they gave the Imperial Trust the means to crew and man vessels that will be able to use the Eldar Webway, and to let them use the arteries unmolested.

Basically the Eldar have to let US use their ftl network. It's possible depending on the how difficult navigation is, or ships that can survive the webwave this isn't practical. But if we want to ask for things the Eldar would normally say no to, that's it.

Idea 2-The Eldar agree, in perpetuity, to provide the Imperial Trust transit on vessels sufficient to handle their trade and relations with any powers they see fit, probably with a stipulation that the Eldar build web way conduits along routes the Imperial Trust wants if they don't yet currently exist.

On the 'Major Favors" Cash those in to fuck over the Tzeentch group, forget their name, causing us issues. Something Something faction is seen as breaching its deals with the Dark Mechanicus forge worlds.

You don't need special vessels for the ways, but while the Eldar will give us unfettered access to the ways for the favour it depends a great deal on the state of the local Webway in general.

If its good then they're fine, if it isn't then they're barely letting themselves in never mind anyone else.

The second is a bit redundant. Because we're allies they're more inclined to help us with things like the conference, but ATM we're not really going to be trading anything like goods with any of the other polities. The biggest trade goods are information and tech. The former can go through the eldar more efficiently, the latter doesn't require permanent trade.

Turoq, and that's the big debate innit.

The two camps seem to be ATM are, spend a major favour to kill everything hostile in 200 LY around the trust or break it up into three minor favours which can be spent on extending Lin's life, opening data jewels and screwing Turoq.

I am not a fan of the Isha worship idea. Our boy, Big E needs all the juice he can get so that he can reincarnate.

Plus it isn't worth the instability it would bring.

@Durin
1.Can we ask the Eldar to redirect the Waagh on to Turoq and his allies ?
2.How much would it cost?

That would take care of our immediate problems.

Killing everything hostile around 200 LY thingy seems like the sort of the thing that can bring upon us attention that we really don't want.
