The afterlife in 40k is the shitties place ever. Everyone goes to hell. No exceptions.

If I lived there I would willingly give myself up on my deathbed to be fed to the sirens.

If we ever had the option to stave death off or cage souls like the Eldar do into spirit stones then we should.
Human souls go to the Emperor.

If Chaos could damn every single human soul after death, then they would gloat about it.

If that were true, there would be no heroes, just heretics desperate to make themselves useful to chaos.

Much as I would like to I suspect there would be far too many conservatives screaming about not trusting the Emperor with our souls.

Human souls go to the Emperor.

Even if there ever was substance to that belief (which is by no means certain) the Emperor is dead and can't protect anyone.

Emps is dead and we have in universe confirmation that if a God ain't got a claim on your soul the warp tares it to bits.

Chaos doesn't get every human soul, but that doesn't mean its nice to die.

HH does substantiate it to an extent, but as he seems to keep em as a pocket army the mercy of the decision is questionable.

The Legion of the Damned does suggest some Emperor-based abilities to survive in the Warp.

Well, endure. Still. Hopefully they're still around. They're cool, not much can spook Chaos like they do. Not much like a veteran of all the Black Crusades getting their throat cut in an alley after their neck is broken.

There is an issue with that, the Legion of the Damned are all space marines, no proof that Joe Average can survive in the Warp though the dubious mercy of the Emperor. For that matter there is little proof that the Legion of the damned are real dead Space Marines and not just Daemons of the Emperor taking the shape of his supposed 'angels' on the material plane.

People keep asking about increasingly odd ways to 'save' Lin and keep him longer than necessary. How selfish we can be to deny a Saint his peace when his time comes!

Uh, by that logic it would be selfish for people even today to try to come up with life extension technology or just people trying to find ways to keep their loved ones from dying. Truth is a lot of people would rather not die and I doubt Lin is completely alright with dying, I mean he accepted that he is extremely likely to die unless a miracle by divine intervention happens but get the feeling he would rather keep on living to keep helping serve humanity. The other issue is that his soul would completely burn out meaning he won't even be able to go to the Emperors side after death.

Note this isn't a rant purely about saving Lin since I've pretty much accepted that he is more than likely going to die unless a miracle happens. Just get really annoyed at the whole accepting death thing and it being bad to prevent death bullshit, especially IRL.

You mean things that we already have a huge backlog of?

Our issue right now is not a lack of exotics or things to exploit. Its a lack of our various forms of money.

And to be perfectly frank, our soldiers are good enough. The improved deathworlder bonus is the least compelling.
in 40k unless your soldiers can body slam Daemons they are never good enough and even then it we ever managed that I would still want to get even stronger.

I'm not entirely against life extension technology. I'm perfectly happy in using it myself should such a thing become available and affordable to me IRL.

What I am annoyed about is the fact that we keep asking the QM for any and all ways to keep Lin beyond whatever appointed sunset time he has set for him. Again and again and again. And he has constantly made it clear that no, it's going to happen.

I know we all desperately want him to stay on as long as we can, especially to help fight off Chaos, but it seems to me that we're better off putting our resources to shoring up the obvious holes he'll open up when he does croak.

And, of course, to accept that his death will be a thing and I do have a feeling that it'd be worse to try and prevent it and have something go terribly wrong than it would be to not prevent it.

@Nurgle
Rotbart can only do in two slots personal attention. Lets say A and B.
Thaddeus can do some Administrative actions in slot C.
Slot D can only do action from the personal selection.

Ministorum

-- DOUBLE DOWN YEAR 1
SLOT B - Year 1
-Y1: Nature of (Tzeentch

Two actions on the same exact thing is way too much. Not to mention that we haven't done created gods yet which is the last basic god research we haven't done which may lead to bonuses from future god stuff since we did all the basic stuff.

-Y3: Complete Examination (Poison Lichen)
MMM, I wouldn't mind either the camo crocs for possible camo niceness, the Hathor Beast, since accidentally shooting one caused a herd to trample a million soldiers to death, finishing off a study of the Sun Beetles (we started it, but didn't finish it IIRC) this bird
Delta-Vee, a bird of prey that has the ablity to manipulate the vectors of itself and its prey. It uses this to both become one of the most agile creatures you have ever heard of and to prevent its prey from escaping it.
Because Vector manipulation sounds cool and the Red Crested Warp foul, because I HAVE A DREAM! That someday we will perform a summoning ritual against Tzeenchians and they will be so busy being confused as to why we have summoned chickens from the depths of the warp that'll not notice they're breathing fire until too late!

-Y2: Blank Training Assistance: Battle Psykers
We apparently get more out of this if we use Aria.

-Y5: Thaddeus Expertise: Tyrant Lizard Pens
Why the pens? Don't get me wrong I see the appeal, of course I do, but surely another hive to grow the economy more is a good idea?

I personally would like on in the Asure isle since only Storms End remains there.

With the two actions and double down it is 66 chance to pass without it it has a 46 chance at passing.

We need Ridicully to help with created gods. Saint Lin has 41 plus 15 for 56 Chance on things before double down. So created gods with a double down has a 16 percent chance.

@Doomed Wombat get enough people and I will change the biologist action.

I am giving Thaddeus a action that helps us and keeps him busy so next turn he can start a city in the new region.

There is no bird that does that. It's a wrap entity that we don't know much about.
2. Aurum'avis Avernitus

A close cousin to the Neroavis, and due to being gold colored and shinning on the desert sun, war properly named "Avernite Golden Bird". It's smaller than it's high-peak living black colored cousin, but due to living on the deserts and being adapted to the high temperatures, can soar higher than it by simply cruising on the highly heated winds of the region.

It's diet consisting of carrion as it's cousin, but has a special posturing ability that due to it's gold colored shining wings, can use them to cook or even permanently blind a aggressor or even another predator. Strangely it's not as solitary as it's black one, choosing to soar in packs, and in dire circumstances choosing to surround a live victim before killing it by together leaving it blind and guiding it to a gruesome death, be it by falling into a canyon or even in some rare circumstances, overheating it into death.

Another interesting thing is that they can banish chaos energy by focusing it's shining abilities on the offending material until it's purified, a truly astounding ability of another of the janitor monsters birds of Avernus.
It's a canon wildlife omake.
