We have one character with 54 Combat, one with 52C, two with 49C, one with 48C, two with 46C, one with 45C, three with 44C, one with 43C, one with 42C, one with 41C and one with 40C running around on Avernus (and I don't even count those that aren't on Avernus currently like Syr) that we know of and pretty sure there quite a few 40+ Combat characters around that are not important to warrant a character sheet (for example I imagine Helguard Champions tend to be frakking terrifying in combat).

Jacob's the worst of the bunch, too, two trait-gain boosters, always willing to push himself, killed a crocodile at the age of five before being taken in by a mysterious swordswoman who turns out to be one of the most dangerous fully human fighters anywhere, and is kind, calm, respectful, and cheerful until he takes the kids gloves off and it turns out he hasn't been trained in the sword so long for nothing.

All he needs now is for him to awaken to his latent psyker powers in the middle of a hopeless fight because they killed lightning girl and it'll be done.

A good point on the Hellguard Champion that raises this question
@Durin from reading Alchiles sheet it seems to imply Berserkers are not a new thing on Avernus. If so how common are they and how is the trait viewed?
2. Is there any way for Avernite Berserkers to manage and control thier rages?
3. How does our military use those who have Berserking tendencies?
4. Are some of our Champions Berserkers? It seems like a very useful Trait for that role.
5. What is the average Combat of a Hellguard Champion?
6. What are Champions like personally?

I kind of want to force Marshall Watters to resign. I don't feel a Marshall should lose there cool under no circumstances...

On meeting him Marshal Waters was a suprisly respectful and charming man, who seemed to lack all of the arrogance that you saw referenced in his files. The explanation for this came after talking to him for a while, where he referenced that some men are destined for greatness, and are far superior to common men. While he considers himself one of these men he also considers you to be one, and therefore lacks any sense of superiority to you.

Achilles is only 7 combat away from a paragon trait, though. With him leading from the front, he has a great chance of leveling up his combat skill even further.

I say we keep him.
 
Not that I have a problem with him be the marshal, since he is a genius and we can try to help him control his problem, but his is indeed a better champion, but again that would make him a berserk more easily (and that is probably one of the reasons for him not to be a achillies champion), I say try pass time with him and see if the calm bird have something to help him. Also doble the combat score is not normal with stats that high (well should not be) so what he is using or is just a hyper focus (or the power of shonen)

@Durin if we upgrade one of the Small Hives in the other regions into a Large Hive, will that Hive be split off into its own military district a la Dis?

1. How open to the public are the Muspelhiem archives? Are they willing to let anyone into them, can people like Tranth or the Biologis request information on discoveries and the like easily?
2. As far as Imperial history goes how far outside of the Asgard subsector does their knowledge go? Important events they probably know about, but what about X battle in X subsector somewhere in obsucus in M37?

Also, we've been filling out the 'next-generation' character checklist here, Syr, Jacob, and Ophelia, that covers three of the eight categories in our character list, ignoring Helheim Void Command, the Administratum and the Departmento Munitorium, we're over halfway done, and counting Marian Scott as a very early entrant, we only have one group left, problem is, that one's a doozy.

Saint Seamus Lin, the only remaining barrier to the Young Justice superteam of Avernus, and as such my mortal enemy, Jane adopted a kid, so where's your kid priest, huh? Just because your soul is being torn apart by the holy power of the Emperor himself isn't any reason not to adopt!

He's actually identified several young chaps and chapesses to succeed him in the event of his death

Another tech we can find in the ruin is advance stasis weapons or fields. Dark age humanity moved start systems instead of terraforming. They only did it twice but than MOI war happen.

It was in a story of white dwarf I read as a small kid in a comic book shop. I remember it because it caused the eldar to think of humanity as a serious threat because they had started to do things that were advanced. Sorry do not remember what system.

    'Life is painful' Khol always thought to herself as Avernus continued to try and kill her, her family, and her few friends. But now that He is joining the ranks that she fought for so long she now feels that life is downright insidious. She can't wait to rest in peace and join the Emperor's Side. At the very least she could get away from the walking military disaster that is Marshall Achillies Waters.

    "Sammy GIRL! How long has it been?" Marshall Waters enunciated grandly behind him his posse of Veteran Champions that he keeps in close distance looking embarrassed as always.

    "Alive," she replied trying to sound as uninteresting as ever. It never worked in the Academy but she thought 'maybe now it'll work? Please, Emperor let it work?'. It didn't work.

    "Sammy you got stop being such a one trick pony? Haven't you gotten any new hobbies after graduating?

    I mean look at me? I have plenty of hobbies now. Kicking it with the Governor who called me "Mr. Watters", Having the Alpha Chicks in my apartment, a Mega 'Bod' from the Gym, and a nice sword arm for when I need to go to work on the wildlife. Ya gotta be more like me Sam."

    "Achilles you've always done that. You regularly fornicated in the Academy..even with our Gym Teacher. You haven't changed in 200 years either." she partially whined.

    But he just shrugs it off as if it doesn't count.

    "Naaaaah." he replies "I got loads of stuff. Like getting these new ranks." as he points to them. "Took awhile what with everyone being afraid of my Alpha-Ness. Yep! Pretty soon I'll be running things like Ole Man Drago."

    She sighed mentally. It was going to be a long life for Khol now that Waters was going to be present in the meetings.

    I know the title is meant to be sarcastic but having one of our premier generals be called the King of Carnage is awesome:D
