I'm not too worried about the bandwagon effect in this quest. The relatively small voting base means we almost always end up voting for either Enjou or Elder Haman, and they both always give good rationale for their votes so that people can make informed decisions. Sometimes they even do the Fusion Dance and put forth Plan Enjou Haman.
Plus we always wait for either of them to vote anyways so delayed voting automatically happens.

Is it really worthwhile when we still have the advantage defensively, while Garkill has tons of advantages if we sally, namely the lack of fortification on our side, to begin with, and the Combat score of a 1000-year old ork? And his armies? And if we fail we basically double casualties due to lowered martial score, if not more due morale damage.
Yes, it is worthwhile.
You can never beat Orks in a game of attrition and the longer his troops teleport down the less likely victory will become.
Cutting the head off as soon as possible is the by far best way to beat Orks in a land-battle.

Um, we can totally beat them in a game of Attrition? The allied fleet is arriving and Garkill does not in fact have infinite or even nigh-infinite orks to attack us with.

Sure?
I thought there were billions and more oon the Hulks.
Considering casualty ratios between us and the orks, that doesn't count as nigh-infinite.
Yes, it is worthwhile.
Remember that the Orks aren't the only enemy we're due to face. This isn't a chess game where sacrificing, say, a Queen and Bishop to eliminate the King is 100% worth it because you win, full stop, heroes lost here aren't recoverable for long periods of time (as in, us getting an equivalent hero).

Ok, given Durin's clarification on just how high risk this is, we should wait for a better opportunity.

[X] Salem Option Two: Reinforce and Hold- The second option is to reinforce your defensive forces with more of your Helltroopers and elites and then hold the secondary defences. They will probably still lose some ground to the bombardment and Gargents but should otherwise be able to hold the line against even the massive numbers that Garkill will unleash. - Less casualties among militia and PDF, will lose some Helltroopers and Elites, lose some of outer Salem.
[X] Garkill Assault Option One: No Assault- The first option would be to leave Garkill alone and wait for a better oppetunity to kill him- Nothing happens

We should hold outer Salem for the time being - making the Orks bleed for every inch of ground they take is something our cities were designed for. Plus I don't want them looting the defenses with impunity.

The fleet will also be arriving to deal with his fleet soon, which means that Garkill won't be able to escape and once our guys win we'll be able to bombard the ork forces from orbit.

After heart searching, I think making Garkill come to us would be in our best interests.

Plus we have Hero's Luck. Is Garkill really not going to personally attack?

Well logically I wouldn't, but thisis orks.

If someone comes with a better Write-in I´ll switch, but for now this looks promising

Best of our not very good options.

That said what do people think about teleporting Lin out and Jane in? Salem looks like it is going to be where us and Garkill finally come to blows. I would rather have the best duellist in the Trust than our irreplaceable Saint on the front lines.

FTFY.

The Best Duelist in the Trust is already there. That would be Chaplain Horatius.

Some things to consider are what we do with our more limited assets right now. The way I see it, the main threats to Salem are the Titans and the heavy artillery they have on the Roks. If we stick our telepathy/songweavers on fucking up their aim (or whatever specific vector of me me shenanigans works best on Orks) it'd probably help limit the damage their bombardment does, especially as we haven't been able to whittle down their numbers yet.

Given that our pyromancers don't have a lot left in the tank, we should probably hold them back to get some rest and only deploy them against concentrations of Gargants that our normal defenses can't handle. That is, as long as they'd actually be effective against them—I'd trust Fred to be able to make that call.

Biomancers could either be kept in reserve to remove exhaustion penalties on our troops or could do some strategic enfeebling of the Orks as they approach the city— I could definitely see the advantages of slowing them down and weakening them while they're trying to charge through our bombing and artillery attacks.

Divination is a bit tricky. I'd really love to knock down the shielding of their Roks and artillery ASAP, which would involve assigning divination support to the macrocannons, but we also might need it for our defense against the Gargants. Plus, the other forces are going to be showing up here before too long, and I really want to empty out our inventory of LE deathstrikes on their heads, and doing so without divinatatory support is stupid.

Telekinetics should probably be reinforcing our fortifications against bombardment if they've got enough left in the tank for it. Better defensive bonuses for longer seems like a good idea.

We can also have them aim some more Deathstrikes at the Gargants.

We've killed off 2/3rds or so of them lets get the rest.

If we eliminate all or most of Garkill's superheavy forces this reduces to a simplified battle we'd win, wouldn't it?

What superheavy forces does he have left in Salem, anyhow?

Or actually, rephrasing, what forces does he have that can do things other than 'Generic Attack'? If we got rid of his tactical flexibility, then all his intelligence isn't going to help him, is it?
