As a more serious thing, while all the main worlds do have the stated defenses, I'm curious as to whether any existing colony worlds are similarly protected. Should there be a brief moratorium on colonization until we deal with the Orks, or something?

you know what I just realized might be really effective? If we could find some way to significantly expand the AA envelope around our cites. It would be hard because any fortification outside the hives would be in danger, but if we pulled it off and set up SAM sites a significant distance away from our cities we would be able to force hostile forces to land even further away from our hives, and thus have even longer walks though the next best thing to a hostile demon world. of the top of my head, we could try:

  1. automated sites designed not to attract wildlife, checked monthly, does not need heavy ammo reverse since it would only need to contest the initial landing.
  2. some kind of fast deploying AA regiments with lots of strategic mobility designed to spread out in the event of an invasion.
  3. set up 4 fortresses with lots of long range AA in a plus shape around our cities, might be expensive.
  4. build up our air force, probably not going to happen given the high rate of attrition among aircraft. Also, might be better suited for actually destroying landing craft than forcing them to choose a more distant landing point.
  5. some sort of specialized stealth orbital station desinged to stay within the protection of our hives orbital fire arcs. may not b viable .

hey @Durin, would any of the above be feasible?

1. unlikely
2. possible
3. would be and unlikely to add much range unless you make them very distant
4. correct
5. not viable

currently the only colony is Fjol IV, there not being any other inhabitable worlds in the Imperial Trust

We can and have built orbital stations in geosynchornous orbit, haven't we?

What other planets are there in the Avernus system? I imagine there might be the possibility of us exploiting gas giants for promethium.

(Or actually, on tech: miniaturized fusion/fission reactors in our tanks? Nanoweave armor? Blink Drives (Ships teleporting in battle, what's not to love?))

The planets are described in the regional description datasheets. We already have some orbital habitats and gas giant promethium refineries.

There's a System Map in the threadmark, though the map is rather big.

The fusion reactors are already a thing in the superheavy tanks. I don't think we have the nanoweave STC to make any, unless @Durin decided that Callamus spread that tech around everywhere along with the ceramantium STC. Players in the Deus Ex quest is doing that as a policy IIRC.

Blink Drive sounds very risky.

1a. Infantry and Armour- Avernus
Fortifications- Svartalfheim
City-Fighting- Muspelheim
Air and Drop Troops- Vanaheim
Mechanised Infantry and Artillary - Midgard
So no one else uses Rough Riders in the Trust? Well given the above list of specialties we have the best grunts and tank crews were the others have some what better troops in particular styles of warfare. Taking that into account our best bet for a specialty other than kick ass SM lite death worlders might just be the new wild live based units we're starting up. Between the Phase Infantry Battalions, which we still need to do the planing for, and Thundabeast Riders, once we have a sable breeding population to mount them on, we have at least two that no one else can prepare for or field. Other than Orks Squigs and Chaos Daemon units we'd be the only power fielding what amounts to Monster units what with tigers coming thru the walls and a charging kinetic resistant 3 ton lizard large enough to put a weapons harness ala LOTR Mûmakil style archer platform on.

Space marine initiation is like that, we're doing the same thing with our elite witch hunters, except that we do it to 3-month babies etc., and so far everyone's okay with that.
We actually do it with 1-day fetuses. The update said 3 month babies because the babies were conceived at the start of the year, born nine months later, and had grown to 3-month babies by the time the year ended - 12 months after conception/the beginning of the year.

I thought we did it before conception, selecting humans with traits likely to pass the trials to begin with.

I manually counted it to 10 Nothing to add and 1 for the other 3 or 4 plans each. I don't have a vote counter so that's the best I can do.

No we cannot recruit or expand the phase tigers they do it themselves somehow and it is very slow process.

Not exactly. First, they don't recruit anybody now, so losses aren't being replaced. Second, they don't do it because it's not that simple. They need to train recruits from childhood, and judging that like Astartes they are better than they should be, psychic frequencies are probably somehow involved. So we probably need to wait for the first bunch of Elite Operatives to be ready to adjust the program for training Phase-Cubs, and do some Telepathica research to either find children with proper frequencies or adjust them.

Third Emergency High Council Meeting Part Three: Decisions
Third Emergency High Council Meeting Part Three: Decisions

Once the Security Council finished giving its report and determining what forces will be available from the planets of the Imperial Trust talk turned to what decisions needed to be made at this meeting.

To begin with it was agreed that all Governor's must ensure that their forces follow the Technology Control Procedures that the Security Council has just finished creating before they are deployed offworld, or within a decade, whichever is shorter. You read over the procedures when they are given to you and they seem to be perfectly reasonable and effective. Given this you are not surprised when they pass unassumingly.
the following clause is added to the Imperial Trust Constitution.
1.i.a. All PDF and SDF forces must adhere to the Imperial Trust's Technology Control Procedures, which are set by the Security Council with the advice of the Adeptus Mechnicus.

It is also decided that the Lower Council and Security Council would be tasked to investigate the surrounding regions in preparation for the next High Council Meeting, at which more decisions would be made. The stealth warships that Muspelheim has built a large number of over the last few decades will be used for this, both those in the Imperial Trust Navy and those still under the command of Mupelheim. During this time the Planetary Governor's should ensure that their planets are prepared to defend against attacks, possibly without warning.

As the meeting starts coming to an end you have an oppetunity to set up a meeting with one of the dignitaries that gathered for it, or a group of them. You will also have to determine the topic of the meeting.
