So if I remember correctly temple cats have a kind of danger sense that tells them when disaster is going to happen. If that's true wouldn't it make a lot of sense to either try to see if they could be domesticated and used to receive warnings or at least check out how they do it?

They're all ready being domesticated by locals if someones omake was canon. I can definetly see psykers taking up hundreds of them as personal pets.

Also I wonder why we can't export them to the nine worlds? Everyone should be butlerized by cats if they're not a dog person.

Shouldn't he have had the second tier Avernus trait, and would it have contributed to him surviving?
He's fine, it's Agni that died this turn.

To answer the follow up question, according to the stat sheet for the departments Munitorum notables she should probably have gotten the Avernite centenarian trait for an extra 1 C, but it's possible Durin already accounted for that.

For the Forge Cathedrals/Cathedral Forges, I'd like to make two Forge Cathedrals and have the rest be Cathedral Forges. We need way more EM production and since they also make AM, I think 2 of the others is acceptable.

We will be able to build one of each type in the same city eventually, but it will take a few decades more (until we get 500 million in each city)

For the Mechanicus, I think it's time to repair and examine Sanctus Furorem - we will need to be able to replace Titans. We don't upgrade the old Titan - further development can be done with new builds to far less furore.

Another Cathedral-Forge in Erecura for more exotic materials would go well with starting Titan production eventually. The power armour for the Astertes is more urgent though.

Sun Beetles interest me. that's a lot of energy.

@durin,
1 what happened to phase tiger regiment planning?
2 will there be an option to develop a life eater fungus torpedo for ant space hulk work at some point?
1. my mistake, has been added
2. possibly
I'm sorry, I'm still contemplating Jane as a regular human being capable of defeating a 1000 year old Space Marine in single combat.
he was a scout sergeant, so not close combat specialized

sorry but I have an average of one post on that topic every day, and need to do a lot of admin work for the quest anyway so do not keep everything absolutely up to date
Have you considered automating some of the admin work?
you need a natural 50 without equipment
I was actually under the impression you needed more than 50.

Though, do traits like Hidden Archeotech Wargear and Engine of Destruction count as equipment? (And also Bionics.)

Some thoughts on traits that could be combined, eventually, for Frederick Rotbart.

Military Genius, Expert Commander, War Leader

Experienced Combatant, Been Wounded, Brush With Death, (Hero's Luck)

Okay I just never heard the answer to that question or confirmation that you knew. Indeed char sheets need updating. So now that I know I won't ask again. It's cool. Plus it's just another thing to put down in FAQ for misc like 'some char sheets may not be fully updated and blah'.

So, thoughts on the turn.

Five years until we're out of the storm is big news. Fortunately, we've known this was coming for quite a while, and we're reasonably prepared.

1. For Munitorum, I would like to use a PA to do some readiness training. Once we're out of the storm Ridcully is probably capable of giving us some real notice about incoming invasions, but I'd like to avoid getting caught with our pants down when that drops. I do want to rearm our Helltroopers at least, but right now I feel like we're too action-poor and that getting Admin running smoothly and Void into shape are larger concerns.

2. For Void, readiness training seems to be the name of the game. I'd like to prioritize fleet readiness over defenses, but we should do at least some of both—and maybe also double down on the readiness here in years where we don't have anything that really demands DD.

3. Admin. Well, shit time to lose an action here. When we're deciding on who to use as the replacement, we do need to remember that if we assign Thaddeus, we lose the Thaddeus expertise letting us do some extra admin options at a higher cost. We also need to expand our mines ASAP—we're slightly in the red on metal already, and having a surplus will allow us to accelerate the expansion of the admech as well as start to close our massive trade deficit.

4. Yes please on the Knights for diplomacy. Also, I hadn't even considered that looking into ways to cure the curse would be a sensitive subject. Whoops, at least Klovis caught that. The Grey Knight disappearing is worrying, and certainly worth a year of Ridcully's time to investigate, but I think any panic is premature. Otherwise, I think we might want to focus on improving relations with Vanaheim now that that's possible.

5. Super-elite operatives are going to be a hell of a thing, and should keep Oakheart busy for a while. Given the duration, as well as the number of favors we owe from putting the program together, we probably want to start it up ASAP.

6. Space Marines will be very, very scary in some Tranth-designed armor. I also think it's well worth throwing a DD on it too—both to prevent it from the small chance of failing and also for the possibility of a crit.

7. For Biologis, I'd really like to get started on examining the Sun Beetles. Right now they're both a real threat to our cities and a potential avenue of advancement for our pyromancers, which make up a large portion of our combat psykers. That or taking a look at the Temple Cats.

8. For the Fabricator-General, first off I'd like to know how the expand and upgrade affects defenses over the duration of the upgrade in both the regular and the expedited path. I'm sick and tired of having so many of our cities be defensive liabilities on the ground. Otherwise, I'd like to design the Marcharius, as Garkill does seem to use Gargants, and possibly start work on the Forge-Cathedral. I do not agree with any attempts to work on Sanctus Furorem—while I can accept debate that we shouldn't be upgrading it, doing so while Tranth is too busy to do his Examine action there is just stupid. Plus, we've got like four cities to upgrade, followed by making the relevant forges, before Scott loses the Young trait.

9. For Lin, I'd like to do a split with maybe two Keeping the Faith (one Vanaheim, one Fyjol IV) and three Those in Shadow.

10. Telepathica is tricky. We obviously want to start the reorganization this turn, as well as do some preparation in case we're invaded right after the Warp storm drops. However, we certainly don't want to risk hurting our long-term growth. My idea would be to have Ridcully spend a year doing the meditation, the investigation if the option is provided, and finally starting the reorganization. Having Ridcully with boosted rolls and a choir to help our fleet should Garkill 3.0 show up is a very high priority for me. Xavier and Tamia would mostly cover the remaining work—I would like to take both mentoring options to help improve the growth of our high-powered psyker numbers (we have 7 Betas in training, and only two Betas in the Sanctionites, and Gammas are also a bit thin on the ground). Probably also have them start compiling the information on wards and force weapons too.

All very good points I"d like I share. Especially points 4,5, and 6.

I'm surprised the Asgardian Knights want to come here to train knowing all of the dangers here.

Is Saint Lin the Leader of the Witch Hunters? If so, having him do Psyker Hunting a possible action? His Intrigue's not bad and he has powerful bonuses against Chaos.

@durin A few things about the upcoming Shitstorm

1 When you say that Gaarkill will attack us immediately after the Warpstorm ends, do you mean that He will attack just the year after the Warpstorm ends or anytime between (for example) 1 to 3 turns ?
2 What does Schwartz thinks of going with Heavy Rearm with the Helguard and Helltroopers immediately so we are better prepared once the orks arrive?
3 The new Elite power armor for the Marines is going to use a reactor or Batteries?
3.1 If it will use batteries, would we have the option in the future to redesign these Armors again so can use a Reactor?
4 When Parnell says that the smaller ships will be ready before the Warpstorm ends, does he also include the ADCs?
4.1 If we go with trade talks with Vanheim this turn, and buy more ADCs and monitors, how long will take until they are delivered?
4.2 How long will take until the Fólkvangr is repaired?
5 I saw that Chamsfiends are Canon, can we investigate them or we will need to "discover" them properly first?

3 The new Elite power armor for the Marines is going to use a reactor or Batteries?
@durin does Trant think he could reduce the size of the Arc-Reactors in the Fellblades to fit into Power Armours, or at least the Dreadnoughts? If I remember lore correctly those things would effectively provide infinite operating time outside maintenance.

@durin, will Garkill just be attacking us or will he also be attacking other members of the Trust?
Most likely Avernus. We've humiliated him twice now, and no self-respecting ork will let that kind of slight stand for long.
