There's a whole host of mental diseases to trawl through to make psykers interesting, I believe.

Hmm. Writing up more traits..

  1. @durin, now that the Smurfs are settling in what kind of fleet do they want?

I'm mean as good as Strike Cruisers and Battle Barges were back in the day they're kind of, well, shit now. The Nova and Gladius Class Frigates get mulched by their closest equivalents the Privateer Class as a fast Escort. The thing is that there's nothing that quit matches the roles of Strike Cruisers and Battle Barges in our new fleet. Strike Cruisers look to be a Light Carrier Cruiser with a secondary focus on planetary assault with the Bombardment Cannon. Not the best thing in a fleet fight but if it gets in close it can tear something up. It lays somewhere between the Monk Class and the Adherent as it's faster than the Monk but can take hits better that the Adherent so it can use the Bombardment Cannon.

The Battle Barges are a planetary assault Battleship so the Legate Class is the closest thing to it. However you need to tear out the lances for the Bombardment Cannon. You might be better using the Berserker or Saint Class but change some of the weapon layouts. In the Berserker removing a section of the weapons battery's for a flight deck would be pretty spot on if slow. The Saint comes with the carrier capacity but has long ranged lances rather than the weapons battery's the Battle Barges used.

1. What about Xavier's sheer power now? Alpha?
2. Has the odds on Alpha Psykers changed? (Formerly 100, 97+)
3. Major Psyker Distribution in general?

"Brigadier Syr of Avernus vs. Brigadier Duquis of Alfhiem. Scenario 17.

Highest roll goes first. Throw"

Two D6's are thrown. One from me and my opponent. I come up with short 5 to his 6. I hate fraking dice.

"Advantage Duquis. Please begin."

From there the table is set up as we both begin planting our models and pointers across the table. I play the invaders attempting to to crack into a defended city with all kinds of defenses. We both received the exact same requisition instead of rolling for that too, thank the Emperor because knowing my luck I would come up short again.

"Good luck to you fair lady." The man said. What the hell is this chivalry thing? I mean, I know he's being nice but of course I'm impartial. I just give him a smile and wish him luck as I focus on my deployments. I decide to to bank on a two pronged assault from opposite sides of the city. Both of equal strength in the hopes that only one needs to succeed in a breakthrough. I decide to spend extra requisition on stealthing my units which forces me to deploy less on the initial phase.

"Are you sure you want to spend so much on stealth?" my opponent asks.

"Don't worry about me sir. You'll find out the results of this soon enough."

After deployments everything begins in earnest. My artillery on both sides nailing his to lower counter attacks and eventually open up breeches on the walls. Since we're both playing average guard vs pdf I don't have to worry about some ritual or the other. I have 30 turns to crack all three of his walls and proceed to fight him in phase two. To be clear phase one is alot easier for the defenders because of the walls behind walls and the numerous artillery that he can stack. Phase 2 being the attackers wet dream, no more fixed artillery or walls to hind behind. It simply turns into a massive street fight with guards, armor, and our air force.

I'm not worried about winning though. After all, I've beaten everyone here and I've gone through all of these scenarios in Duat against the crocs, tigers, and worms that keep coming. In fact it's felt like clock work for the last 3 months. They line up and I knock them down and my professors find it hard to find something to criticize about me. Unless their Cadians. Those guys don't take breaks or give slack whatsoever to anyone no matter what. Personally, I wish we had more of them around..

As for the match it breaks down like this: Turn 1-5 I break down the walls. 6-10 I silence artillery on the walls while possibly losing on the other hand (Losing what?), all firing units motion to the better breech. Turn 11-15 fortifications are blown the fuck down and while rush from both sides. I have 3/4 making the mad (what does this mean?) in the east while the rest take west. No matter what I keep 'popping a new unit' out of stealth to force his other units to respond while the rest continue to break through without firing a shot. Eventually they climb over the second set of walls and are at the final gate. Duquis decided to leave his command unit and a bodyguard unit in the back. Not good enough against my last two stealthed units.

I order my units in the back popped as the rest use their very bodies to block other units from fleeing backwards to help the last gate. Perfect execution and I'm only on Turn 20 now. These last 10 turns need only a few more dice to hit hard enough for me to breech.

But going back to the explosies I hit hard enough that his Commander dies. All units enemy units in the vicinity take a check..and the command unit succees. However, the body guard unit runs off the field meaning he's out of play permanently before the commisars or anyone else can bring them back in line. Seeing the writing in the wall a 'cease fire' is called allowing me to pick up the win. I take hard casualties on this phase due to the all the fire my men took while Duquis still has a majority of his men now, but no commander to rally them.

On phase 2, the clock is reset to 30 turns and this time I use my new requisition to bring in armor and scout troops instead of stealthing. He however decides to stealth his units and deny me a full knowledge of what he's packing. I guess he's trying to adapt but it's too late. The scouts continue to pick up his stealthed units and my armor slowly advances from behind. My one baneblade forcing his cluster of units die or abandon. It's only turn 10 when I near the 'Enemy Palace' and I shell the area with baneblades and armor. My scouts all the while attempt to find buildings to commandeer for cover. In the end though, I captured the palace in turn 20 as I slowly made my way forward with the scouts never risking my armor.

"Game set and match. Debrief in 3 hours." The instructor calls.

"Another excellent match Ms. Hawk" a nearby voice says from behind. In turning around I see it's General Agni of Asgard. "I especially enjoyed watching the armor in play, I always enjoyed metal running over troops as a Knight-Commander."

"Thanks Agni so how'd your match go?"

"I lost against a Midgardian who showed me that armor is weak when conscripts decided to clog the roads so that you can't get in the keep." He smiles a bit at that " Get this. When I asked him if he would send his mother if he had to. Quite the determined man he was.".

Agni was the definition of a noble in Syr's (back to third person?) eyes. Handsome, Intelligent, cruel, eccentric, and always too happy with himself. He also didn't seem to like taking hits if their matches had anything to say about it. He was fine in using conscripts to get killed while attempting a flank with Titans or Predators but he didn't care about the ground stomper at all.

"So Ms. Hawk have you thought of letting me take you to that Aesir restaurant in the nobles quarter? I hear that their churasco is to die for." Oh and Syr (third person again, which tense are you using?)sorta knew that he wanted to get into her pants. Self entitled asses didn't get the hint when she said no, threw the door in his face, and almost slapped the bastard once when he said if I (< really need to stick to one tense) was scared of dating a high born noble. I really hate this mans arrogance. I could get along with everything else but his arrogance was like sucking in nervas (nervas? Is that a thing or just nerve gas misspelled?) through your eyes, or letting a phase tiger eat it's way out of your head.

"No Agni, I have a AAR after this with Colonel Wilhelm. He says the last report was only 'passable' and that means I have to do better. Don't you even do the reports?"

"Of course I do. It's easy, all you have to do is write what happened. Takes me like, well, 15 minutes."

Fraking LIAR! Those take hours because then you have to write up parallel statistical analysis, find a real incident in which what happened occurred, and THEN write the AAR. Everyone did that and the math alone takes more than an hour with all of the variables.

"Sorry I'm up MIA street for that. Have you asked Jude or someone else?"

"Of course not Syr, Your the only woman I haven't taken to that place..I mean uh." (Umm, if this guy is as much of a player as you are trying to say, he would never let slip that he has already worked his way through the pants of every other woman in the class. Might be better to have Syr tweak his nose that she knows that is his go to place for his sexual conquests and she isn't interested.)

'Men' like this want more than to eat dinner. I wish they would just ask me out of kindness like I let anyone drink coffee in my apartment. Are there any good Samaritans out there?!

-----------------

End.

Overall, pretty good, just remember these people are all really rather old and experienced despite their youthful appearances. To be a "player" while hunting older, experienced (not to mention martial) women who likely have had multiple, if not dozens of relationships under their belts by this point in their lives. (if they are still single/interested and 80-100+ years old....thats a ton of one-night stands and boyfriends) He would need to be very suave, articulate, and extremely good at lying.

Otherwise, good story. :)

The idea was that he felt that he'd done so much and came from so much that he deserved whatever he wanted. Also thanks for the corrections :)

Also ya I can't write suave. Or be Suave. I just nerd!

Well sure, but that attitude turns women off when its obvious like that. If they are here, they are all generals who command hundreds of thousands/millions of men. They are all rich, powerful, influential people. He needs more than an entitled persona to successfully woo every available woman other than Syr herself to his bed.

Um, He uses bad guy magic and the power of an inept writer? :V
Eh, I'll just use as my head-canon that most of the women were using him because he had a great ass or something. Like he thought it was his charming personality or way with words, but it was really that all the ladies just thought he was cutely inept and wanted a good dinner and roll in the hay.

Meanwhile Syr is just annoyed cause all it did was give him delusions of actually being good at picking up women. :p

1. durin is syrs martial ability 41 on the ground kike the tin says? Thats higher than shwartz if so. I have to make sure because if it is oh god!

@durin

It is the most votes I ever get for a plan.

Just asking: I did my plan because. Partly protest voting to not fit in. Why have you, fellow questors, voted the way you did?
