Exactly. Just like a martial culture does not turn you to Khorne pride in tradition does not make you a abomination bait. There's a nuance to this stuff.
No, but it does provide a vector for infection.

And was important enough that it was mentioned specifically when we spied on the abomination
You see Tech-Priests working in their forges, each action dictated by the force of millennia of tradition.

I'm more concerned about they're xenophobia personally.

Not with a resident Living Saint they won't.

Anyways I say we adopt all the courses of action as advised by Olaf, he's the master of Vanir politics.

@durin:
1) When does Olaf think is the best time for Frederick to visit Vanaheim?
2) Will you be creating some characters for the Vanaheim political theater?
3) Can we spend an action or two to coordinate with Olaf's agents and Klovis-Ultan's diplomats to prepare Frederick for the Vanir mediastorm? This would make for a good Diplomacy action. Mayhaps even increase our Diplomacy stat, though that might be overdoing it.
4) Would I be correct in saying that mass media on Vanaheim resembles the OTL Earth media the most out of the entire Imperial Trust?
5) Which world comes after Vanaheim in terms of being close to OTL Earth's widespread media coverage, accessibility and press freedom?

1. How much would it cost to build heavy warding into a single spaceship (A stealth-style ship)?
2. How many psykers can be safely fit onto such a spaceship?

We also have vectors of infection - Removing vectors of infection is really hard to do (Reducing, OTOH..). In fact, among the imperial trust we still likely have the most chaos cultists, courtesy of warptouchness.
Due to sheer number difference, not anymore, Vanahiem alone has 23 billion people.

1. Would Lin be open to being put in statis when he is near death to be revived at a later date when we have the understanding to save his life? We have canon examples of it stopping soul and warpy BS.

1. at least 20 years, possibly more
2. when it becomes necessary
3. when necessary
4. yes
5. probably Alfheim

1 a few hundred EM and a few tens of thousands of AM, if the ship is an escort
2. a few thosuand if you re not going though the Warp

ask him in a few hundred years when it becomes necessary, if he lives that long

If it's intended for the ship to go into warp (and likely use powers on semiregular basis), how many might be safely fit? Assuming it's minor, trained, psykers.

Escort (Destroyer*)

*This is the smallest ship size that can conduct warp, I believe.

The third suggestion may prove useful but you will have to be prepared to deal with a good deal of hostility and opposition to your presence on Vanaheim and it could be turned against your and Olaf's positions. Olaf advises you to apologize and then avoid making any waves in Vanaheim for a few decades in order to let the scandal die down.

For this, how would the apology work? Does Rotbart personally come to the Althing on Vanaheim next year, make a public apology, then leave and come back to do the cultural tour in 20 years or so like you mention?

Your fourth suggestion will prove to be very useful if you can convince Saint Lin to follow though, which Governor Olaf views as unlikely given how determined he seems to remain neutral in all internal Imperial Trust politics expect where Chaos is an issue.

For this we can do a Keep the Faith action if nothing else. Lin coming to do Sermons is still a valid action, and he wouldn't have to be political about the nature of them.

Infiltrator Class
Infiltrator Class

A variant of the Shadow-Class Destroyer, this design is notable for featuring no weapons to it's name. The other notability of it is then incredibly extensive shielding of the ship against warp perils - intricate wards against chaos are inscribed not merely on the surface and interior of the ship, but also within each individual component of it - The stealth armor that surrounds it, for instance, has complicated warding runes designed into the both sides of each layer, then repeated a near-infinite times across the ship. Multiple Gellar Field generators featured upon it as an additional precaution against attacks while it is in the warp.

While the Infiltrator-Class features no real defence against attacks within the materium apart from it's stealth, the ship's crew complement of psykers are a potent force to apply against enemy fleets. Supported by carefully designed alcoves to allow psychic choirs, as well as amplification of such usage of psychic powers, the ship as a whole is quite capable of making a major impact during combat, either by telepathically disrupting and/or controlling the crew of enemy ships and their commanders, or by offering divination aid to an allied fleet.

The real purpose of the ship, however, was not to act as a support vessel in combat, but rather, as the name suggested, to infiltrate a system and then observe it for years at a time, sending back information to home on a relatively regular basis. Heavy usage of divination and telepathy makes the task a significant easier one than otherwise. Even in the event of discovery, the Infiltrator-Class will have likely already left the system long before then, evading pursuers with ease.

Designed by the Avernus polity, this ship is the first of it's kind, one made to allow them to fully apply the significant amount of psykers they produced, even in space.

[X] Plan Five Actions
-[X] Accept Olaf's version of the debt forgiveness idea.
-[X] Donate an additional 5% of the debt to the Imperial Trust Navy.
-[X] You will make a brief personal visit to Vanaheim next year to give a public apology in front of the Althing, and come to do a cultural tour later on when things have calmed down in twenty years or so.
-[X] You will talk to Saint Lin, and if nothing else you can likely get him to come to make politically neutral sermons on Vanaheim.
-[X] Agree to a 20% reduction on prices for Metal over the next half-century.

The Ninth Meeting of the High Council Part Five: A Discussion with Olaf
That went very well indeed.

the fact that you argued him down so much will reduce the impact on your own reputation.
tells you that while it will have little impact on the Vanir it should do wonders for Avernus' reputation in the rest of the Imperial Trust, which has been suffering in some quarters.
So that is why we want to keep him on his throne. He genuinely does want to help us.

He requests a ten to twenty percent discount on metal prices over the next half century.
Best to go with 20%. We have more than enough credit to soak the cost.

someone will end up picking a fight with the Avernites and dying horribly.
Shame, that would be entertaining to watch.

@durin Does Olaf think we should start paying with the debt rather than keep increasing it?

@durin The Apology will be a diplomatic action, or a personal one?

he thinks you should at least partially pay with the debt when possible
