Actually there is a plan that concerns's both of them.

Even then we're not dumb enough to do that, it would be have meeting with Surt, then have meeting with Olaf, not keep one waiting.

What is it that people are actually wanting to discuss with Surt? I think I'm missing that. I mean, the guy has a lot of intriguing secrets, but was there something specific?

Well the thing with him and Olaf is this thing were they give the Vanir debt or something.

This thing in other words.

I'm thinking, maybe there's the possibility of a 3 way deal.

Muspelheim is currently planning to upgrade a few of their massive floating cities. To do so, officially, they'd have to pay an extremely expensive tithe. Such a tithe would mean a dramatic increase in the size of the Trust fleet, and thus a massive increase in the required infrastructural capacity at Vanaheim, the primary shipyard. My proposal for the 3 way deal would be that we sell of a large part of our debt to Muspelheim , which uses it and some of it's own funds to pay of the required tithe to the Fleet. The fleet uses these resources to expand itself, as well as it's facilities around Vanaheim.

Cost and Benefits for the 3 groups.

Avernus :
- Loose lots of debt money's
- Loose a bit of relationship with Muspelheim

Muspelheim
+ Get to build flying cities
+ At reduced price, thanks to Avernian debt transfer
- Does not get to build them for free

Vanaheim
+ Gets support from Muspelheim
+ Reduced Debt
+ Massive bonus infrastructure project => Greater prosperity.

As for what we want from Surt... well to work with him and figure out WTF he is.

Have you seen his combat skill recently?

But is that plan relevant any longer since we got the compromise measure passed for Muspelheim to pay off its debt with the single battle fortress?

We can try to modify it by suggesting that Muspelheim upgrades the Vanaheim facilities to ensure that the battle fortress platform can always get maintenance, even if Muspelheim gets cut of by the storm.

Single battle fortress? I was reading that as a battle fortress per city or x number of city's they put warp engines on not just the one. At any rate we can still give say 1M in Vanaheim dept to Muspelheim then Muspelheim can write off said dept to have Vanaheim build the bsttle fortress. We loss out the dept to us from selling the ships, Muspelheim get to do the tithe for free, and Vanaheim get to reduce their all over dept.

[X] Invite Olaf so you can talk about the current situation between your two worlds.

Surt has no business in this meeting, and I don't know why people are inviting him. This needs to be about relations between Avernus and Vanaheim - Muspelheim has not a damn thing to do with it.

We might invite Klovis-Ultan, though, as he's our diplomat, but a one on one meeting might go better.

I think he did, but that should be a separate meeting from the one with Olaf. If necessary, we can do a meeting with Surt after the main Council Meeting is done.

Durin said we have time for just one meeting. No trying to squeeze two out of it.

If we're given an option, I'd like to do this. What the vagaries of warp travel, no one's schedule can be locked down that tight. Could ask Surt for a meeting on formalizing a political alliance as the Reform faction.

EDIT: Though I think the main reason durin limits these things is so that he doesn't have to write too much. I mean, "realistically" these once-in-twenty-years High Council meetings would last for weeks and involve all of the leaders meeting with each other in various combinations for various discussions big and small.

1. In Scotts report she mentions that the Admech are starting to understand the stuff we got out of the Sword of Surter.
1i. Does this men those critical thinking/understanding things are paying off, cause the admech of the Imperium rarely understood, or at least not too a good extent, what the tech they played around with was.
1ii, Does it make it less likely that we can lose tech, cause having an understanding of the tech means we can create new stuff more easily.
2. Do we have any instances of Avernite creatures dying naturally of old age, rather than external factors such as disease, attacks or biological defects like saaaay cancer.

1i. a little bit, though even in the Imperiumthey studied STCs to learn what they could from them
1ii. yes, the fact that you have multiple backup archives is probably more important in this however
2. yes

Isn't Klovis-Ultan here as the Inquisitorial Representative? With the evil goon outfit and everything? Having him join the conservation with him on our side would be...kind of awkward, wouldn't it?
