Also for what reason is Eldar tech (relatively safe if psyker heavy) lumped in with the others?
I think @Enjou lumped it in because it would come up eventually.

Also why bother, this is an old one planet, there must be examples of Old One tech on it some where and their stuff is light years better than the modern day Eldar's.

As for where... some where after Fjol #32380 here's what @Enjou did for it.

I must have missed that. When did it happen?

Eldar tech wasn't mentioned as forbidden. We basically suggested to the Fabricator General that some limited, careful study of xenotech should be done so we could at least switch it off safely, and some ways to package certain xenotech as "safe" for study. (Quartok tech is an example - it's non-Chaotic, we can understand how it works, and it serves useful purposes rather than crazy shit like Dark Eldar torture tech)

At this point, I think Avernite militiamen count as PDF by anyone but our own standards. Also, since our PDF are often deployed off world, should they really be called PDF? They really are more of a standing army now, and as such, I propose we change the name from PDF. Not sure what to call them yet, but eh.

They're definitely used for Planetry Defense, just that they're sometimes used to defend Avernus in a more proactive role. ;)

Makes sense. Only the Eldar would be able to extract something useful out of the technology of their fallen kin.

Because the Eldar created rather impressive original tech and more to the point Eldar minds are more human-like and understandable that those of the Old Ones.
Yeah, but the Eldar are only as strong as they were because they were either given their tech by the Old Ones or reverse engineered it after the fact.

The Eldar are smart, but even at their height they could never even come close to making something like Avernus.

The Old Ones are just better in every way, but needed a less violent soldier than the Krork, BATTLE MOONS ******'S, so they created the Eldar.

Look at it this way. Humans are monkeys, the Old Ones are arbitrarily advanced aliens. Eldar are monkeys with genetically designed bigger brains who already know how to use some of the super-tech because they were used as shock troops. It is easier to learn from the Eldar than to try to to work from the remains of the Old Ones directly.

orbital platforms, among other innovations IIRC.
We also farm in Elysium.

I know that but I don't like it for three reasons

1. I admit I am biased and dislike the Craft world Eldar for completely biased reasons, some like Eldrad are ok, but most are just dicks... especially Biel Tan.
2. The Eldar are just monkey's and we can cut around them with Sirens... a bit.
3. The Old ones are sufficiently advanced as you say. Therefore if we can figure out even a 1% of their tech we would be catapulted into the upper reaches of psy tech. Thankfully if we ever get to that point, we will probably have help from a very experienced source :D

Killing Eldar and taking their stuff to reverse-engineer does not require one to like them. Quite the opposite in fact.

Wow, I have never seen the words "Eldrad" and "dick" in the same sentence without the speaker/writer calling him one.

Looking back on the data we got from smacking the DE on Fjol,

1) What's the upper and lower bound on surviving Archons and DE from Commorragh?
1a) DE ships?

2) Also, did it have any data on just how many Eldar are there?

3) How much DE did we kill on Fjol?

4) How many escaped?

5) How long did Fjol exist before we detected it?

6) How was it colonized?

7) Was it among the first DE colonies?

Just orders of magnitute will do. (10s, 1000s, 1,000,000s..)

And...

8) How powerful is Ynnead?

I intuit that we should get Lin to spend some time with Syr. Maybe Ridcully too. Just a feeling.

(Actually wait, can Ridcully foresee the potential future importance of our people (Like Eldar Farseers), so he could focus on them?)

((In fact, could Ridcully just try and foresee 'Massive Destruction' to find where chaos psykers are likely to be at? Foresee discovering/fighting tons of cultists, then alert Jane to find them before she discovers them? Foresee trainee psykers with potential for greatness, then tutor those trainees? Foresee psykers with the potential to go chaotic, then keep a watch on them?))

Fair enough, but any stuff we get from the eldar will be pathetic compared to Old one tech :D.

What?

He's an ass, but at least he has a good reason to be an ass humanity killed his best friend and can work with humanity on occasion.

Hmm. Computing out the martial scores/martial bonuses, I get the feeling that Rotbart's Martial bonus should be much higher than 156. In the mid-low 200s range, to be precise.

Also tried computing out combat scores/combat bonuses, and it seems that the progression is a little odd, to say. There are changes in the pattern of progression at scores 20 and 45 (and 0, I suspect). For martial the 'pattern change' seem to be 0 and 35, respectively.

Do remember that combat goes to super human.

It makes sense for things to start accelerating.

Khalai Style? Cute, durin.

For those less versed in Starcraft, the Khalai is the name of the military arm of the Protoss, whose line troops use dual-wielding plasma blades.
