The Frailties of Age (-2C, less likely to gain positive traits, will decrease over time)- The years have not been king to Lieutenant-General Schwarz and he has many of the ailments of age. His memory is spotty, his body frail and his senses weak. Despite this he is still a deadly warrior and is counted among the best generals of Avernus.
Also Schwarz's mental degradation's been completely reversed. We should promote him to Dragos's position.

I nominate Tranth for Fabricator General. I don't think there would be all that much resistance. He did find an almost complete STC constructor after all.
Tranth wouldn't do at all. The man is only interested in technology and discovery, not diplomacy. In fact his diplo-score is too low for the job.
We'll be getting a brand new character to replace Britton.

Daemonic Incursion Part Eight: Aridia
Daemonic Incursion Part Eight: Aridia

All of the cities of came under heavy attack during the incursion. It was only the massive damage inflicted on the daemons by the wildlife, particularly the Titan Scorpions which were seen in unheard of numbers, that allowed your soldiers to form as effective defence of the regions as they did. In total nine million soldiers and a hundred and fifty million militiamen fell to the daemons, nearly three quarters of the military and a quarter of the population.

Both Elite Primaris Tamia Jameson and Elite Primaris Zhukov were in this region and preformed brilliantly, with Primaris Jameson in particular pushing herself past what were believed to be her limits during the three week long siege.
Salem Defenders d100= 74+20(defences)-10(north)+17(martial)+30(Omake)+5(Heroics)=116: Moderate 3.3% of the population killed
Lieutenant-General Christianson d100=71+19(combat)+6(piety)+12(situation)-15(general)+10(Omake)=104: Survive
Primaris Tamia d100=41+50(skills and powers)-20(psyker)+37(Omake)=107: Survive
Babylon Defenders d100= 85+10(defences)-15(north)+20(Omake)=100: Moderate 4.9% of the population killed
Beirut Defenders d100= 55+10(defences)-5(north)+20(Omake)=80: Moderate 6.9% of the population killed
Silver Lake Defenders d100= 25+15(defences)+25(Omake)=65: Moderate 8.4% of the population killed
True Grit Defenders d100= 30+10(defences)+5(south)+20(Omake)+10(heroics)=75: Moderate 7.4% of the population killed

Primaris Zhokov d100=93+50(skills and powers)-20(psyker)+21(Omake)=160: Critical Survive

Yay, excellent news--an entire region where we didn't get fucked.

On that note, when are you going to be rolling for that?

I will be rolling for that, all of your elite Primaris have a chance with Odysseus and Tamia having the best chance
Odysseus is up there presumably because of his crit success, but didn't Zhukov also get a crit success? Is it because the Governor's Own also got a crit success?

Notables Lost: General Drago, Henry, Fabricator Britton. (3/26 named characters at risk) = 11.54%

In total I estimate that we'll have lost about 25% of our population after the 5% cultist rate is accounted for.

Unaccounted: Half the Battle Psykers of the Unseen University+Quarter of the trainee psykers and Sanctionites + Unseen University Branch casualties.
(Dunno how is that. Probably should make a separate one for psyker casualties.)

EDIT 2: Fixes.

EDIT 3: More fixes.

...More EDITs.

Clearing Cultists (or Tamia Jameson and the Scary Lady)
Tamia omake for cultist control and heroic status!

Clearing Cultists (or Tamia Jameson and the Scary Lady)

Tamia Jameson really hated this part of her job. Truly, she had not felt this level of pressure (purely mental--the Warp had settled somewhat, and was no longer pressing nearly as hard, thank the Emperor) even during the height of The Incursion--and it was official, capital letters were warranted now. Of course, during the height of The Incursion, she had been far too busy to do something as pointless as feeling pressure. Still, she didn't think feeling enemy's bones crunch under her strike, or the dull ache of a bruise from a blow that her armor had (mostly) blocked, or, worst of all, her own sanity slowly fraying from the many directions she was being pulled in was much better than feeling pressure. Nor was bowl-loosening terror. That one sucked.

Alright. To be fair, the perils of being eaten, corrupted, horribly killed, or tortured into insanity that she had been exposed to during The Incursion actual had been worse than this. But Jane Oakheart was still a scary lady in a lot of ways. And when Tamia had met Oakheart before, she got the feeling that Oakheart really did not approve of her. And that, should Oakheart get sufficiently angry at her, she would die.

Today, like most days post Incursion, consisted mostly of cultist hunting. And, like most days post Incursion (or P.I. as she was beginning to think of it), Oakheart had specifically requested her, as they were working on screening people in key positions. As a high level telepath, Tamia was quite good at identifying probable cultists--and, according to Oakheart, the hardest part of cult hunting for the Arbites was in finding the first member of a group. Once they had been identified, it was child's play (relatively speaking) to either track their movements or interrogate them to find the rest of the cult. Tamia would take Oakheart's word for that.

Anyway, Tamia was pretty decent at identifying probable cultists. All of them had a certain flavor to their mind associated with the member of the Ruinous Powers they worshiped. Still, she wasn't really a fan of this sort of work. With the power of a Beta, she needed to maintain careful control, else she slip and accidentally crush the minds she was brushing against. Not that it was likely that she would do that--it had been a very, very long time since she had let her powers slip to that degree--but there really were better options for this. If Jane needed an elite Primaris for security reasons or something, this was right up Aria's alley, and she could take over the psyker hunting business no problem.

Come to think of it, Oakheart was behaving a bit strangely for her. Her body language was a bit less hostile to Tamia, and she was explaining things to her a lot more. Tamia had only (very briefly) scanned her when Oakheart first appeared for the day--strictly for chaos corruption, she did NOT need an angry Oakheart on her for either (1) digging into her secrets or (2) being insufficiently paranoid, and anyway looking deeper without a good reason was invasive and creepy--so she did not know exactly what Oakheart was thinking. It reminded her a bit of some of the mentoring back at Unseen University, but she knew that social cues and the like were a bit different in the population at large. Psykers were special cookies and people should consider themselves fortunate if any they met could both introduce themselves properly and tell when the person didn't want an introduction.

Eh, it didn't really matter at this point. Something was up, but she hadn't done anything wrong--heck, she had been an invaluable asset and saved countless lives (Lieutenant-General Christianson and the head of the local Arbites had said so. There was even talk of being publicly rewarded by Governor Rotbart himself!). And if they wanted something else, they could just ask--it wasn't like she was expected to pick up on subtle cues.

In the mean time, she had a job to do. There might very well be something else going on, but clearing key personnel of cult influence, and then working her way through those working in highly-trafficked areas, was her job right now, and it was serious. Yeah, it might not be as glamorous as single-handedly beating back wave after wave of daemons, but it still deserved her full attention. Speculation could come on her own time, such as it was these days. Plus, Gerald had gone and been stupidly heroic again, and she needed to find something else she could do. Blasted one-upper couldn't leave well enough alone...

<later>

Oakheart: Can't say I think much of her personally, but I will say she's a lot sharper than the slightly ditzy attitude suggests. She caught on that something was up without using her power, did a reasonable job of concealing her realization and concern, and rather than digging deeper into something that wasn't her business left it alone. She's matured nicely, and is perfectly able to be strictly business when the situation calls for it. Could use some more socialization, and her combat training could afford to be increased a bit. Still, I have no objections to giving her some more responsibility.

Xavier: She really stepped up in this invasion. Frankly, she's figured out more about her powers in the last couple of weeks than in a decade of training before hand, and she's never been a slacker--it seems like something just clicked for her. We'll have to see if what she's figured out is unique to her or a more general thing, but that can wait until we've got fewer things up in the air. She's well-liked at UU and among the other elite primaris psykers, so socially I don't see it being an issue. I'm for it.

Lin: In my personal experience she's a lovely young lady, and the Ordo Psykana priests I've spoken to that know her have nothing but good things to say about her. Plus, she did amazing things rallying that city in what was essentially a long-term semi-independent command. For.

Ridcully: It is agreed, then. Tamia Jameson would benefit significantly from some additional mentoring and responsibility, with an eye on promoting her to a higher leadership position. We will take our thoughts to Rotbart.

Would we even want Tranth? Him being the Fabricator general means he won't be out exploring and fixing STCs.
Tranth does not need the Fabricator General post.

No matter what he wants to research, he's more or less guaranteed full funding, army and navy support, and whatever research assistance the Mechanicus (and others) can give, for centuries. There are a lot of people (and not only Mechanicus members) who would be up in arms if Tranth was forced into a diplomatic position like this simply because of the probable loss of technologies discovered.

I know I would have been annoyed, if I was there.
