I could have sworn you were doing a sound out for a shipyard in each system. In that case, there are some facets of your plan I prefer. Better hold off on voting then till I can compare the plans more thoroughly. Sorry for jumping to conclusions.

His latest draft doesn't, though it also differs from his prior drafts in other ways.

Why I get up in the Morning
Omake - Why I get up in the Morning
------------------------------------------------
Video Diary of Samantha Khol of Dis
------------------------------------------------

56th Day of the Year.

An only 300 more days for it too start all over again.

My soldiers continue to lose their lives by the thousands despite the new equipment, political landscape, and numbers. The Rangers are still prowling the Mountains and Jungles with the same amount of success but as of now they are a defunct unit. Simply put, they are no where near capable as their successor infantry units and will be disbanded in a week. Captain Smith, meanwhile, gave me an earful for the first time in his life about the men he's lost, the blood he's shed, and the lives he's protected. It was intriguing seeing the man call out my inadequacy in seeing the numbers before being escorted out and saying that I was on his 'shit list'.

I stood silent an i'm allowing the Disciplinary committee sort out the Captain but..*Long SIgh*

You know it's like a recurring theme in my life. I bring results but I never receive the praise from my superiors or my soldiers. Sure it's gotten better and they at least respect my methods as well as adore my results, if only a little. But I want to be told its okay.

I'm almost an entire century old and I want to keep living. To praise the Emperor and the Truth is my life on that I am sure but..what does this mean?

For so long I never wanted kids because of what could happen to them here on Avernus. Even in my Fortified mansion, they are still within so much reach of just everything. Tigers, Spiders, Worms, and fucking plants. But now despite the danger I want a child, if only, to be ever loved back by someone who is not my Emperor.

*Snorting sounds*

hehk!

I've never felt so insecure in my life to be honest. No one to talk to and wanting to be someones friend to be allowed to vent and seek advice. An yet here I am. Sitting in my damn room, clutching my Sword like a baby and drinking through my nose.

I think it's only 10 minutes until my armored escort comes in so I can go to the Base. Which means, I have to be at my best for the next 9 hours or so.

On brither news, I get to visit the Academy tomorrow to see Syr Rotbart. Ever since she joined the Officer Academy the whole brass got excited knowing a new General is about to make it to the fore. I'm suppose to be teaching a swordsman ship class that she'll most likely attend which makes me happy. If anything, Syr is the new Avernus , she is what we've been fighting for when blasted Xeno or heretics aren't making a muckery of this world.

Yes yes..It's just enough to get me to stand up out of bed today and tomorrow. If I die today, I want everyone in the world to know that I won. I beat this planet and helped bring about a new generation that will go on to win.

*END OF RECORDING*
-----------------------------------------

((Wanted to make an Omake about how the Genearls see Syr and her choosing them over everything. I want to say that they're all glad to have an Army General as a Planetary Governor.))

Ok, not related to what we're doing at the moment, but just some thoughts on the ships we've got Vanaheim repairing at the moment.

Facts:
1. Vanaheim currently has 1 Gargantuan Shipyard, 7 large Shipyards, and 6 small shipyards. 588 slips in total to work with.
2. Generally speaking, it takes 3/4 the slips to repair a ship than it does to build one from scratch. You can also use one shipyard size lower than the build requirement to repair a ship. Escorts take one slip regardless because you can't get smaller than one slip.
3. They will only be working on one Command Battleship at a time due to EM costs and time it takes to one. Given #2, it will take up 96 slips, so Vanaheim has 492 slips to work with for other ships.

We made a rather large order, and I'd presume the delivery times they gave us include the repair times for both the ships for us and the ships being tithed. We can also likely presume that they won't be dedicating their entire capacity to our order, as they will want to repair ships for their own fleet, to sell to others, and Defence Cruisers to sell to others. So, to guess how much capacity they'd be dedicating...

200 slips at a time would likely be used for our Escorts, with deliveries of 100 made to us every five years, likely with a mix of types. All 600 of ours would be delivered in 30 years that way. That leaves 292 slips. They could get all of our Cruisers out in the same time by dedicating 60 slips to them, getting 10 to us every 10 years. That would leave 232 slips open. That just leaves the Monk Class Escort Carriers, which are Light Cruisers - I'm not sure on the slip space since they take 3 to build, so it's either 3 or 2 and I'll just presume 3 at the high end. Given they take 5 years to deliver to us, they might just get them all done in 20 years given the number, dedicating 30 slips at a time to them. That leaves 202 slips for their own construction for the first 20 years, and 232 after that, ignoring any further increases in their shipyard capacity. So, it should be noted that if we send any additional ships to them for repair they'd either come after our current order or would bump portions of our order to be fulfilled later on.

Going back to the votes, I again urge people to post at least a sentence or two about why they prefer the plan they're voting on rather than just voting - feedback is invaluable to the people who make the plans. Otherwise it just looks like a bandwagon that has no explanation when lots of people just post only votes.

I voted for Elder Haman because he had Tranth reverse engineering ship building technology. Which as you have observed above, is needful.

I've really wanted admin reorganization and think it's been put off too long. It bugs me that we haven't finished off that chain yet.

The martial and tech choices make sense to me.

The other differences are things I don't feel strongly on.

[X] Plan Enjou T67

I vote for Enjou because I like his Diplo more and find the 3rd part of the investigation more important than the seminars.

[X] Plan Elder Haman T67
the big one for me is the admin reorg. getting a about 9 percent discount on everything is very valuable. i think that we should do it asap, especially before our new fleet starts arriving.

i do prefer Enjou's titan killers, but that is less important for me.

[X] Plan Elder Haman T67

I would like to start the 3rd part of Investigate Rituals, but since it's just checking the really obscure ones, it's not super pressing. Because of that I want to do the Seminaries more and the last part of Admin Reorg.

[X] Plan Elder Haman T67

Really tricky vote for me--both plans had a lot I wanted. Came down to my preference for Haman's Ministorium and personal attention slots outweighing my preference for Enjou's diplo and Mechanicus slots. The biggest thing for me was getting the admin reorg started rather than maximizing void actions--we're starting to run into more resource shortages, and I'd rather be able to afford to pimp out our infantry than continue to throw money into the void (pun intended).

[X] Plan Elder Haman T67

I really want to finish the mythical Admin Reorg action chain. That and sounding out the Trust navies sounds worthwhile. I do like the seminaries

I'm skeptical of the Law enforcement cooperation considering the relative difficulty in crossing borders, the trouble in expediting criminals, and the fact I don't think a bunch of dictators are going to care too much about the intricacies of multinational jurisdiction. I mean, I suspect our arbites have far more leeway to get results than anything in the real world barring secret police. And I doubt the law enforcement in other worlds is necessarily as benevolent as ours. I mean, try telling an Arbites in a midgardian under hive that he has to try and arrest the twitchy killer underhivers so they can be sent back to their own planet in order to be executed for the same crime. I half expect the response to be something like 'why pay so much to execute the scum when we'll do it for you for free?' But as much I'm speaking out against it, I don't expect the plan to be changed.

While it's relatively difficult to get from one planet to another, it's clear enough from our own people doing so that it does happen. Truly massive amounts of goods and material are being shipped between worlds, so there's no doubt some degree of smuggling going on.

When a criminal is suspected of crossing borders, having an official channel to notify the relevant authorities would be good. Even if they'll just execute them rather than extradite them, that's fine considering that our own justice system is hardly benevolent by modern standards (penalty for tax dodging is death, remember?) - the point is to catch the criminal and end the problem. Stopping all cross world illegal activity will be pretty much impossible unless the worlds cooperate to do so. I expect this would end up being largely an intelligence sharing organization that occasionally sees a few joint operations.

Advanced Laser Weapons
Here's an idea I had recently. The Sword of Surtur entry does say that we have more advanced versions of all of our standard equipment, so I decided to give a whack at improved version of our standard Las weapons. While inferior to Impaler weapons, they are more than good enough against mook level Orks and Nids, and are around 40% cheaper. In terms of a stat line, they are essentially Bolters or Bolter+, powerful enough to be an improvement, but not enough to be a dire threat against other Petty Imperiums. The Lascannons are nowhere near as good as Neutron Cannons but are much cheaper. Considering that we still use the Lascannon, exports will be prohibited.

Advanced Laser Weapons
One of the medium grade prizes found amongst the treasures of the Sword of Surter was the schematics for a series of more advanced versions of the conventional Las weapons. While inferior in performance to the now common Impaler series of weapons, and dramatically inferior to the advanced Neutron weapons, they represented serious logistical benefits to less developed planets. Advanced versions of the common and Icarus patterns of Lascannon have also proven to be potent additions to the Trust's arsenals, and potentially threatening enough to prohibit export.

While significantly more expensive than the standard Las weapon, their performance is roughly on par or slightly superior to common patterns of Bolter. Compared to the available patterns of Impalers, they have significantly inferior armor penetration capability, but are almost 60% the cost. Requiring a similar level of technical base, the Advanced Lasers offer considerable advantages to planets that face large numbers of low quality infantry unit, such as the common Ork Boy or Tyranid Gaunt. Considering that those are the primary threats of the Valinor Sector, distribution amongst the surviving the Petty Imperiums is quite high. The heavier Lascannon patterns have been reserved for the use of the Imperial Trust and close allies, being overkill against the Greenskins and forces of the Hive Mind, but quite potent against the armored vehicles of humanity.

If it's more intelligence sharing than I can see that working. If we're more concerned with just catching the criminals involved and dealing with them over than extradition and jurisdiction than I can see that being fairly well received. Consider most of my grievances withdrawn.
