By researching the frequency the astropath's have we may be able to replicate it, by doing stuff to it... We do not yet know what the stuff is.
well is not the reason astropaths are able to reach so far into the warp because of the emperor so if we can replicate it then would that mean instead of just astropaths we could just make a increase in power ritual for psykers

from a quick trawl on soul binding ritual what happens is that they bound the soul of the astropaths to the emperor so is not the emperor dead so how would we make astropaths
By attuning the frequencies of the Neo-Astropaths to each others' frequencies, we'd be creating our very own Astropaths. It's basically the hard, roundabout manual process that the old Imperium skipped on by having the Emperor streamline the process.

The entire Psychic Frequency research tree we're going down on is to produce our own Astropaths.

Not nearly the full fire power of Avernus I know, but its funny.
I actually laughed out loud reading that. That is such an exaggerated line, but in context of how bullshit Avernus is I really could see that being a "Hah, you haven't seen the full might of this full operational Deathworld!" type of line delivery. :p

Like some bizarre take on the "THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM!"

Presumably the final form is the unborn... What ever that is.

75% would be the Alpha plus's waking up. As just one of them could use the moons as projectiles scale that up from there :D

The scary and weird thing is that we still don't know what else awaits us on this world. Like we might have an idea from the in character perspective of what we've seen, but really this place is like the horrible, terrible, not-so-good version of the Amazon rainforest. I mean we still sometimes discover new stuff in there and that is just one part of South America.

Could be all sorts of crazy things out in this place. Could be bloody Mole People living deep underground or Mer-creatures out in the deep parts of the oceans.

Given that we still don't know where Time fuck vale is and atom bomb valley are yet, yeah... Avernites are crazy to off worlders for a good reason

This world, while horrible and stressful on everyone living on it, is GREAT for us players in terms of finding some new or crazy shit to learn about.

Every new discovery a possible new thing for us to use to our advantage. It's also very exciting for a story telling perspective.

@durin did confirm that Avernite Humanity ranks at around 3rd/4th place when it comes to being a cohesive power on Avernus, so maybe there are something akin to mole people on Avernus.
Besides the Penguins and the Deep One, I'm convinced that there's a civilization of Sirens living on the bottom of the ocean.

Yeah, and according to @durin the planet is making us evolve. Maybe in a few thousand years we will have Avernite traits that increase our other stats, because evolution **** yeah.

Also with the time stuff, yeah that will be useful, who knows we could learn how to make time bombs, or regressive time fields.

Well maybe we'll see that happen when we reach a certain amount of turns or time passing (the five year mark is certainly going to speed any chances at seeing something).

The question of course is what would evolutionary trait would we get? I don't mean the psyker thing, it'd be something EVERY Avernus born human would get at first and it would a very subtle change at first glance.

Crazy thing is that if the Imperium was still around for another 1000 years and we started evolving we might have started freaking out Puritans...they might have tried to label us as Abhumans or something.

Probably general improvements at least at first.

Maybe after a few thousand years we can match a gene modded human, after a 10000 match a really gene modded ect.

Given what the Old Ones got killed off by, I'm gonna hazard a guess that all Avernites will achieve limited immunity to Warp Contamination. Maybe like the Sirens, their souls will begin to detach from the Warp at large.

Depends on what the planet mind has in mind. After all, humanity is apparently super adaptable, just look at the Valhallens.

Still concerned about the unborn as it sounds like a C'tan killer.

Probably stuff similar to what Catachans get like greater musculature and endurance, but since most of the evolution will be due to Blink Spiders we should expect vastly superior reflexes. In terms of psychic evolution, it's possible that Avernites would become pre-disposed to divination and biomancy (Lucina and Syr being examples of the former) since it helps them know about imminent attacks and react to them, respectively.

Not sure what you mean by Syr, but due to the conditions of Avernus and the active influence of the planet mind I expect to see improvements all across the board, due to Avernus being so dangerous.

Hmm, maybe the evolution will be primarily of the mind? I mean Humanity clearly can't hope to physically keep up with the many species of Avernus...but like what happened to us on Earth our minds ultimately become the greatest weapon we have available to us.
Syr's Survival Instinct trait is the manifestation of her psychic power. It lets her predict danger before it happens.
Perhaps this is the best way to look at it. Syr is developing a mental trait, maybe due to psychic power true, but perhaps it's also due to a change in the brain on some biological or physiological level.

That certainly would be a subtle change.

You know blink spiders are weird, beyond just the teleporting and insta death.
Why the hell are they hunting humans? Spiders that are likely to kill humans in the real world do so because humans bother them, they don't hunt us because we're far too big to easily eat or get caught in their webs and even if they could, they'd likely get swatted by someone travelling with the person.
Blink spiders undeniably hunt humans however as otherwise they wouldn't teleport on top of them. Why? They generally do immediately get swatted so why do they do it?
Currently my best guess is that the spiders lay eggs on the corpse, and when those eggs hatch the babies eat all the maggots on the cadaver then teleport off to get booty and repeat. They aren't hunting humans just something large enough that decomposes nicely.
I know we've researched this before so if someone can post a link to that I'd appreciate it.

Really it just says she has very good instincts there. Did Durin say that?
durin confirmed that she's a minimum psyker and her grandfather is a powerful diviner. She's also the only one out of everyone we know to have that trait despite everyone living on the planet just as long or even longer than her.

No I knew about her being a minor psyker, but that I thought manifested itself as luck

I'm happy about the defense monitors being finished. It's a good thing they can slaughter enemy escorts as I don't doubt the orks and tyranids can drown us in them. Hopefully we'll have enough time for the defense cruisers before being attacked.

Even the prospect of a super-battleship intact enough to move under it's own power doesn't make up for it's lack of datacore. It's good, but what we need are designs so we can start repairing ships right now. Inspecting another battleship would take 2 years if we start now and 3 years if we wait for the current survey to finish before starting a new one. With it being less likely to have an intact datacore because all the other super-battleships are more damaged. At this point, we should research escort reactors and get back to super-battleships once the shipyards can start repairing escort destroyers.

@durin We've had hyper juvenat for 39 years. General leopold schwarz has presumably been taking it for that long. when is he estimated to no longer have age penalties?
