[X] Night- Concentrate fire on one target.- This will allow your artillery to have a major impact on the selected target at the expense of have no effect on the other targets.
[X] Night- Target the artillery- This will reduce the amount of damage that the Dark Eldar artillery can do over time but will cause less damage then some of the other targets due to the fact that the artillery is most likely well fortified against return fire. This option would be best if you are planning to take your time and turn the fight into an extended siege.

[X]Do Not Fire any Deathstrikes- Save them for use on future targets

[X] Attack cautiously- You could have your forces slowly and carefully advance, reducing the amount of enemy territory that they can take but reducing both your total casualties and the kill to loss ratio of your troops.
[X] Begin to fortify six hours before dark- This will reduce the amount of territory that you take by a massive amount but will allow your forces to erect good fortifications at their positions, clear killing fields and search for secret passages before dark making it near impossible for the Dark Eldar night forces.
[X] Attempt to gain control of the walls first before slowing moving inwards- This option will involve taking control of the outer walls of the city fist, which will allow you to either cut of or reduce the chance of forces in the city escaping or being reinforced but leave your forces spread out. This should not be selected if you are being aggressive as it will leave your forces vulnerable to counter attack.
[X] Have your Midgardians lead the attack- This will allow your more expendable troops to take the brunt of the fighting saving your elites for later use. - This option would be best if you are not in a hurry and are avoiding the inner walls.

the first few who tried were stopped and given a particularly bad, and slow, death in front of many others
I don't know if I should say this, but I kind of have a problem with this kind of brutal punishment and torture being so effective.

It makes me categorise the slaves as not human, because humans don't act or think that way.

And THAT is the core of why the Dark Eldar are so Unredeemably EVIL. That take a human being and reduce them into something less. There's a reason that Genociding the Dark Eldar would count as a "Morally Good Act" on just about everyone's moral compass (presuming that said compass has a 'good', of course).

[X] Expand your currant beachheads in all directions creating an more even zone of control- This reduces the length of the front in comparison to the amount of area that you have taken and would be the best option if you are trying to seize as much territory as possible.

I would like to note that after we knock out the Artillery we should split fire between the city and Targets designated by ground forces. That should kill most of the slaves and hurt the harassment forces. While we are pushing slow and cautiously the Mechanized infantry is getting chuwed up. Think we should push the iron guard Armor Regiments and our Heavy Infantry Regiments up to renforce the lines? My one thing is that I want to hold the Black Irons and Helltroopers to tip the spear when we hit the inter walls.

We've probably capture a few of the slave soldiers, i would be curious to see where they come from, and if they have any knowledge of the imperium outside of the nine worlds.

Have there been any recently captured slaves the dark eldar have put into service?

Also is their any morale issue among the men for having to kill the wretched slaves?

Announce to the slaves/Dark Eldar that we have control of orbit and if the invasion fails we will exterminatus the planet, so no matter what the Dark Eldar do, death will come fast?

It's a lie probably but if you're hoping for death...

At which point, the Dark Eldar grab a couple of random slaves and torture them INCREDIBLY HIDEOUSLY for a day or so. No more need be said. There is no fight left in these slaves, not against the Dark Eldar.

On another topic, we may want to consider accelerating our seizure of the outer wall at some point. We want to pin them in well before retreating become's their only option. For that matter, the enemy leader may have already pulled out his elites, depending on the odds he perceives on winning this battle.

@durin how much territory do we need to seize to surround the city?

you will need to hold all 200km of the outer wall, around triple what you currently have

I will provide an update after the next update but currently the Imperial Trust Guard approaching a fortress and the Timeless Army has just broken though the defenses of anther due to some work by task force anvil
So are we going to find out how the others are doing first or after the one we're vetoing on now?

[X] Capture some slave soldiers and at least one Dark Eldar. Get the slave soldiers to give us as much intelligence on the DE and the city as possible. If they refuse, threaten to lock them in a room with the captured DE. Interrogate the DE themselves afterwards.

So what I'm thinking for interrogating DE is to torture one of them until it agrees to torture other DE for us. At that point, we can get the DE to give us intel under pain of DE-grade torture.

So what I'm thinking for interrogating DE we end up capturing is to torture one of them until it agrees to torture other DE for us. At that point, any DE will have to give us information or else suffer DE-grade torture.

The slave soldiers would probably bite off their own tongues so they'll bleed out rather than be captured. They are that scared of what the DE will do to them on failure.

As far as torturing the DE themselves, I'm sure they've all experienced worse at the hands of those above them in the chain of command at some point in their lives.
