The Dawi in Arda (Hiatus)

A note on the dragon, that was probably Smaug.
He said to have been on the first hall of Durin, so he is probably in gundabad now, then he talked as if there was a sort of alliance with him and Sauron and he takes down any place Sauron asks of him as long as there is enough riches in it.
I belive Sauron will sent Smaug to attack us, because by looking how we are acting we will probably make so much of a mess of orcs that we will get his ire a lot more than Erebor.
We should be careful and by ourself time so we can have lots of cannons to kill Smaug when he present himself, so having less money will make us less desirable as a target, I.E. do not tax the merchant using the pass do not try to ammas a big fortune in the vault.
Canonicaly Smaug gets a golden armour in his belly after he sits for centuries on the gold of Erebor, now the belly is weak.

[x] Plan: Getting the new folk settled in
[x] Yes - Nendumir
[x] Yes - Grazur
[x] Yes - Garin

Flakksons rune on bolt throwers inscribed with the rune of penetrating.

That will give us target-seeking projectiles that can pierce even the thickest and strongest of armor.

I am really not sure why we want to grant Nendumir's request at the moment. I don't think we have enough people or the infrastructure to support an outpost at the moment. It also creates a bigger risk for the dark powers to take note of us and maybe see us as a threat.

We chose Nendumir as the clan leader because of Blackpowder.
If we deny him Sulphur, then we may as well have voted for someone else.

We for sure want to grant him the request but maybe we can do it at a later point once we have better infrastructure in place. I'm not super against it I I just think we might be putting him and the group going with him in unnecessary danger at the moment.

What kind of infrastructure do you have in mind? Watchtowers at intervals to bridge the distance?

More volunteers in battle, more resilient to negative morale effects. Further away from Grumbling and Kin-Strife mood levels.
Volunteers are fine and all, but when we need them the most, can't we order a general mobilisation, where every Dawi able to hold an Az shall be called to arms, dropping whatever they are doing?

If we build that sulfur outpost I would like a hidden escape tunnel. A place so small and so isolated will not hold up to siege, it needs an underground evacuation rout that can be blocked off which will take us down a protected path.

@Warkeymon
Is it possible to build an extension from the Old Forest Road to High Pass?

Yes although you've not really come across anything you'd want a road to that's on the Old Forest Road.

@Warkeymon
Based on the fluff of the Rune of Slowness, is it unusable on a talisman by Umgi absent Dawi nearby?

Runes can either draw on natural sources of magic or on the spirit of the Dawi in order to recharge. The Rune would be useable by anyone provided it had been charged up in one of those two ways.

So if the bearer of the talisman is going to be away from Dawi a lot then they might not get as much use from the Rune.

If the Surface Hold is breached then the Clans will go into a total mobilisation setting.

Gandalf is the kind of guy who only act if he need to do so, we are already doing stuff he will want us to do.
So why risk messing stuff up?
Elrond is surely keeping him informed on us.
