Wait for him to waste an act potentially, or waltz back in, then move in for the next strike or make him regret his decisions to close in.
Excellent, if you had tried to move I would have suggested this course of action myself! Keep forgetting that Conditional's are valid in this system though.

Hm, maybe we can try to force him into a corner? If he doesn't press forward, that could be useful... If we actually had any skills to combo that with :p

Hmm. @Sightsear , I don't think we want to force it backwards, Iggy is still cowering somewhere behind it, and we kinda want to be protecting him.
@Dermonster , I think we should modify your plan. Its healing is part of its wait action, so if it waits and then attacks your plan would have us charge into its attack again.

This way if he waits and then attacks he'll be forced to cross the remaining Mood Spikes to get at us next turn(He is almost certain to have at least one wait next turn, so he'll have full health and start coming for us). I would also be okay with the third condition just being to wait in the middle of the spikes to see what it does.

Good points, although I'd support changing the third conditional to waiting in the spikes. We lack a sprint, so if he doesn't move we'd have to move forward twice to get to him ourselves. Otherwise, I'm all for it.

I return from lurking, with a suggestion: What if we sent the mood spikes in front of us along the floor toward the Retainer, to slash at it from range? They're already blade-like, so they could be an effective attack. We haven't done anything like this yet, so we may have some trouble, but it could be worth a shot.

We have no skill for it. Most likely scenario: it would fail and we would do nothing except waste an entire turn.

Best to keep up the pressure with what we know works for now.

I forgot - do we have to call the exact range they're at, or is it just a straight line attack?

EDIT: Oh yeah, the one Red Ghost got perforated at point-blank range with the stars. Nevermind.
 
Take a step back to mid range, then bombard it with starshards, or matter mold something heavy and aerodynamic then toss it.

Wouldn't throwing a matter mold javelin be splitting off a piece of our soul? Can we do that?

Matter mold objects only dissapear once they get a sufficient distance away, and we shouldn't hit that when we use them.

Using matter mold items has no adverse effects on us unless we use it as a shield.
