Terrene Spire - Gently ended.

[X] You know what? Sure. No point in breaking the illusions right now since you know what they are, might as well go see this "Friend".
-[X] I should make some small apology at some point, if they don't try killing me.

Design an Eishalon Contest
SO, I am still doing things behind the scenes to get some stuff done, and real life is also hounding me a bit, but I was told this was a mild possibility so lets, well...

LET'S HAVE A CONTEST EVERYONE!

Basically let's consider this a fun little exercise while we wait for me to get all this done:

Alright so, here's some information:

The Eishalon is the endstage of a ghost. After falling into despair or in general giving up on continuing, the ghost will soon shatter it's halo, starting the transformation from one being to another. After transforming, Eishalons are completely a slave of their emotional state and function a lot more on reactive or instinctive notions than proper cohesive thought. They are more beast than man, so to say.

Now the terror (or beauty, to some) of Eishalons is the fact that an Eishalon is a unique being unto itself. It shares no genetic similarity with any other Eishalon, it shares no relations or in general connection to anything but itself, as the Eishalon is practically born out of what kind of person the ghost was, their beliefs, their spirit and their attitudes, along with what they managed to do in their life that seems to have impacted them in a larger way.

So as some people have already kinda figured out, they are sort of like witches from Madoka Magicka.

Now why am I telling all of this? Well here's the contest's context:

LET'S DESIGN EISHALONS!

Yes! Let's make some Eishalons! We already have enough context clues to get some really nice designs in there, and on top of that theres really no limit to what an Eishalon is, what it can look like and in general what it can do! They all share the common theme of the star-patterned flesh and a mask though, often also a weapon or even weapons or skills on top of that!

Theres no limit to how you choose to present your Eishalon either. You can just write out a description for it, maybe even add bios or backstory or you can even draw it if you feel so inclined! Heck if you want to act it out with live action images thats all fine too. The end result is that we are designing Eishalons!

Now if you feel like you need more information I will supply it as asked for, as long as it isn't going to spoil anything. Also even if you come up with your own story for it and stuff that doesn't line up with Terrene Spire so far it's not really a problem at all, let's all just have some fun!

...Oh right, prizes. Wouldn't be a contest without them!

So lets have some Prizes:

1st place: YOUR EISHALON IS CANON. Yes, it will literally show up in the story! Depending on its design and such I can easily find a place for it to hang out! Now isn't this a neat little setup! Also, I will work out with the winner the context of the Eishalon and where it is in a way so it all makes sense so, don't worry, I can make this work.

2nd place: A STRAIGHT ANSWER. Yes, just like before where everyone voted for a straight answer, you get one, PERSONALLY! For me to answer truthfully with no spins or hidings! Most probably answered in PM though.

3rd to 5th place: ANSWER TO SOMETHING LOREWISE. Ask about souls. Ask about why ghosts work like this. Do elves exist in daros. All those, little side questions can get an answer here! These will definitely be posted in the thread.

Now, the deadline for submissions is:

FRIDAY THE 19TH!

Have all your Eishalons submitted by then and things will be delightful!

And that's the roundup! Let's have some fun and design some Eishalons!

Questions:

(1) Is there anything special that happens to the vessel in possession when they turn? As in is it discarded, just tacked on like an accessory, or can it mutate along with the ghost, or is it another thing that's unique to the Eishalon?

(2) Are the masks all the same or they also unique aside from similar characteristics such as eye holes?

@Dexexe1234 Question(s): Can Multiple ghosts become 1 Eishalon? Related, while Eishalons aren't really thinking so much, are they capable of doing more complex actions such as playing music?

Eishalons if they are born together can meld and become a bigger Eishalon. This is called a "suicide pact" for obvious reasons.

Yes they can play music and even talk and act properly, some do act beyond simply being animalistic, but they are still bound to their whims and instinct. Nothing's stopping them from being musically inclined.

The Shell is most often than not discarded, though there has been events where Eishalons fuse with it. This is often if the shell is oversaturated with the ghost's ectoplasm in the first place, which is often the case of a smaller shell for a larger ghost.

Masks are unique. Each Eishalon has their own. It is very rare for them to be akin to another Eishalon. Even if two Eishalons are made through the same circumstances their masks will differ minimally.

*Cerebral Overload*
........I need a new brain.

Right, Design the first-
Bottom left was the first sketch, bottom right is more detailed, top is a side view.

Some obvious influences from Flowey and Arakune, maybe a little less obvious are the elements from flatworms and the Mantis Shrimp.

The 'Pipes' sticking out from it's back are prehensile tentacles with lamprey-like mouth hands which can be released in combat and used as weapons. Haven't really drawn those yet, and uploading shit is a pain without a scanner, so I might not do that.

Here's a shitty as fuck MS Paint Eishalion.

You'll note that it's got a vaguely similar lamprey mouth-hand to what I described on the other one.

Except absolutely shitty, virtually toothless compared to my initial conception, and with no actual orifice involved.

But still, it's sort of vaguely what the other one's tentacles would look like.

... I hate using MS Paint with a mouse so very much.

EDIT- Oh yeah MS Paint has that Curve Line function

That's more like it.

Though still kind of shitty.

@Dexexe1234

So I can't draw for shit, but I can sure as hell write. Is it okay if I describe the Eishalon and/or its attacks and its represented concept?

EDIT: Ah, I must have not read it fully. Disregard this post.
