Terrene Spire - Gently ended.

Considering the general sense of humor displayed thus far, I don't think that's too critical an issue. Or rather, given the format (lob suggestions and roll out) goofiness was an anticipated and expected occurrence

If I had to guess, befriending him might have worked for a while, and then just when he's feeling better, depression rears it's ugly head and he thinks "No, he's just like all the others. He'll leave, and die and die and die and then finally turn and I can't..." and the Despair/Prayer occurs and the boss fight is on once more.

The guy quite emphatically told us to fuck off multiple times, and was already getting all cracked. I can't speak for the QM of course, but I think it's utterly absurd to think that good old Red was saveable. Sometimes you can't get a perfect run. Sometimes shit has to go bad early on in order to establish certain things to the audience. Red has turned into a Monstar and now we have to slam with the best or jam with the rest in order to establish the fact that goasts can Hollow out into Witches or whatever the fuck it's called here.

I dunno about you but I prefer the first person we met in the story turning into a monstar to establish threat than being flaccidly told later that this is a thing that can happen.

And because of us 'le ebin dance' voters we now have a fabulous crystal body with bitchin' shades so I'd say we're winning already.

I remember Witch Quest, SV 'funn'ed Homura into insanity with 'Accidentally' summoning Walpurgisnacht and SCIENCE'D a Clown Witch by giving it trans-dimensional powers. Most of the updates were trying to fix what had happened earlier interspersed with 'LOL' votes getting though and making things worse. Eventually Kyuubey almost Science'd Homura because of what happened and even the GM was disturbed by what happened and re-wrote it. It was fun in places, but people kept trying to force 'fun' and made it... painful.

I'm just a bit leery of general SV'ness because of that.

I'm sure that was unpleasant but I don't see what derailing the tone of an established franchise in a totally different quest has to do with an original quest still establishing its own identity.

EDIT: Like... the very first action OG took, apart from any voter input, was responding to "You're a goast" with [INTENSITY INTENSIFIES] then mostly rolling with it. And now the first NPC we've interacted with beyond "fuck off noob scrub" Red is a dopey turnip. A bleak, gritty, brooding descent through the darkness of the human soul this ain't.

That is true, but right now is not the time for silly, that time comes after we deal with the vessel of despair that stands before us.

I feel like this probably isn't a tutorial fight, or if it is, we're in the tutorial of hard knocks. Either way, maybe if we can save Red's halo from the monster, we can get him back!

[X] His halo thing is inside that bauble thing! That feels important! Break it open with a Crystal Shard!

I'm annoyed by the fact that people will vote for votes like
[x] eat Red
just because they feel someone smarter will stop it from bandwagoning, when if enough people think like that, the 'joke' vote gets more votes and so occurs.
I'm also annoyed by the fact that since I said 'let's try and be sensible about it' it's 'no fun allowed', as if fun is defined by trying to destroy everything you touch.

Disregard excess exaggeration.

((...Okay I think I might need to weigh in here. I have been making stories for a long long while, I can clearly see when a command will take a turn that just isn't favorable or weird or, whatever. I also know that indulging these "mad suggestions" sometimes grant so much more to a story going on. The tone of this story will fluctuate and change, it will shift in weird ways that I will still try to make coherent.

...Eh, uh, what i'm trying to say is, don't be scared of the random humor. I have outcomes for every action, and I always plan more. There is no broken bad end, I have had those enough in my time making these things that i know how to avoid a pitfall.

So, uh, believe in the QM to do well by you guys, cause I really plan to make this great!

Oh and you all deserve this for being so dang awesome (And do keep discussing, I love discussion!):

No, you didn't say "Let's try and be sensible", you got all passive-aggressive and shirty about the comedy votes and heavily implied that Shadow Red was All Our Faults for being silly even though that really makes no sense at all. So really you're overreacting based on a different thread and over something that hasn't actually happened yet, assuming that the QM possesses no higher brain functions that would allow them to handle this themselves - either by just selecting serious votes when the situation calls for it and/or telling us to knock it off if it gets too bad.

EDIT: Whoops and then the QM stepped in and fixed it exactly like I said he would.

You know what, I think you are so awesome that you deserve something very special in return.
An awesome Mech for an awesome person. (It's the Gurren Langen)

Red has turned into a Monstar in order to establish the fact that goasts can Hollow out into Witches or whatever the fuck it's called here.
Orange Crystal bitchin shades ghost is still in the room with red-now-eishalon ghost.
Eishalon ghosts, apparently. Unless it is a reference going over my head, as it tends to happen.

Also,
and now we have to slam with the best or jam with the rest
Did you just.

Literally the Best QM.

And so the fact that you are trying to inflame the situation is okay then? Because that's what I'm getting from the repeated posting of 'No Fun allowed', as if none of my points could ever possibly be valid.

I was over-reacting and noted as such in my post, so being somewhat aggressive about it isn't the thing to do.

Okay, can you stop with the single image posts? The mods tend to frown on them, and it is coming across as rude.
That seems to be the point here, I thought that might have been the case with the second post but now it seems almost certainly their main goal.
As such, I shall ignore it.:)

[X] Defend yourself, but try to communicate.
- [X] If 'Red' cannot be reasoned with, neutralize him by force.
- [X] Run away if things gets worse, we can always live to fight another day! even if we're kinda dead!
