Terrene Spire - Gently ended.

Do you want to keep working on Terrene Spire and just don't think you're capable of finishing it?

I do kind of fear that, but, there is a plan for that already.

Dex, don't give up, we'll understand if you need to take a break. Heck, we've made you take breaks in the past. If you're burned out again, feel free to relax and recover. If you tell us, that's great. If you don't, we may worry for you, but we are more worried about you than about TS at this point. Plus, your update rate, even when you're burned out, is still incredible against literally any other quest on this website.

Right, sorry about that. I have been talking with someone rather rude about my situation and they basically told me that my efforts are in vain because they can't be sold yet.

Like, there's no finished packaging, no goal to work towards. Nothing concrete and done about TS that they would enjoy and its just...

It hurts me because that's what I worry about constantly. I constantly fear the "try writing an ending this time"...

Sorry for another stupid scare everyone.

Sorry for another stupid scare everyone.
We understand. I've been going through my own ups and downs recently, and it's given me a bit more perspective on how that feels. I'm glad that we can be here for you, intangible though we may be.

Miracle of the internet I guess: even though we're scattered across the globe, we can still be there for each other.

3106 Now I wanna give you ALL THE HUGS.

If they want a package, then they obviously don't want a quest...

'It's not packaged'

... It's a quest?

Like, I could see someone assuming you're using the assets to make, like, a platformer with turn based RPG elements for combat, but that's not actually what the game is. It's a quest. You don't have everything pre-built and packaged up as an end product in a quest- If you did, it wouldn't be a quest at all.

If you're always looking towards the end, you'll miss out on everything along the way.

Yes, there will be a time when the quest comes to an end, but before then, just enjoy the journey along the way.

This is YOUR creation, not theirs, so if they don't like it, that's their problem. If they want something different, they can either make their own or look somewhere else.

Remember, we care about you. Even if we're nothing more than random faceless people on the internet.

Even if we're nothing more than random faceless people on the internet.

...But you're always so much more, all of you. The "output" is the faceless person on the net but the thought behind is still sparked by a person.

The action taken to console me and help me is an active act because you wanted to give input.

I appreciate it immensively, even down to just "likes" or "hugs", each of them is the choice to do that act, to inform through action.

I thank you all for this. I am so glad that you still care!

It looks like I'm a little bit late to the party here as well, but hey! It sounds like you're doing a lot better, so that's good!

I know that the whole "never ending" thing is something that I've had troubles with when I make suggestion games as well. It's easy to judge your quest-mastering abilities by how many of them you've "completed", but that's not what it's really about. As cheesy as it sounds, quests are about having fun! And of course making an awesome story, and I can tell you right now that this quest is doing a great job at both of those.

One thing to remember is that, in real life, a story never really ends; people keep on living their lives and the events of any story continue to affect the future forever, long after the book says "and they lived happily ever after". You've made the world that this quest takes place in super in-depth and wide open, just like the real world. Although that makes the idea of limiting a story to an "ending" super difficult, it's also one of the reasons that the quest is so awesome!

If you do decide to end Terrene Spire, though, that's cool too! As I mentioned before, you can never see the whole of a real story because stories go on forever; all you can ever see is a short section where some interesting things happened. And this has certainly been a very interesting section of Zest Lavie's life!

Keep on being cool, Dex!

I feel the need to comment here on the subject of monetization. This is more akin towards an online comic than anything else. That's more the monetary method you should be looking towards rather than something else. For a very successful example, look at homestuck. That wasn't finished for years and it still made money.

If your serious about making money from this, you've got an ok start. Just keep chugging away, and look at what online webcomics do.

In the name of the fake Yoda from Spaceballs merchandising. I know I would at least pay for a shirt and possibly a mug.

I am so sorry it took so long again. 12 freaking days!

ARGH. There IS a new entry in the Skills section of the Tutorial, but I don't need to really SCREAM about it.

Keep up the assault! Dont let him regenerate.

[X] Derm 1.0
-[X] Act: Scythe slash.
-[X] Wait: Psych up.

I'd write parry but I don't know if a success would lead to a riposte.

I was thinking go straight into psych-up -> mood spike, but I suppose it would be better to have mood spike on the first action so it'll be harder to miss.
[X] Act: Scythe Slash
-[X] Wait: Psych Up

Without more complex skills, our only course of action is essentially to beat our heads against this wall until it breaks.

We have healing, so it isnt too bad.

The thing seems stupid, and it also looks like our mood spike is persistant, at least slightly.

So if we Move Back, it will have to follow us through the spikes, on the other hand, if we stay where we are it might punch down into the spikes
